swils Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I'm in #118 for the foreseeable future (unless Flipz says otherwise, heh), but if you're still around, or go, but feel like making a second trip through the Fields, yeah, I was planning on trying to get a run together. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Each battle # is worth that many points. 1st = 1, 2nd = 2 so 2 complete battles is 3, so it's 1+2+3+4+5+6.... So an Alchemist, Mystic Knight, Archmage, Minstrel and Dragoon walk into a bar... Any use for a Hunter? Quote
UsernameMDM Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Any use for a Hunter? YUP! Depends on how many JimB wants on this trip. Sign up & see! Quote
bionicle_fanatic Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Now that I've completed my first quest (or rather, Karl's completed his first quest I'm an idiot.P]), I'd like to start at east thinking about QMing my own, maybe I'm an idiot.P] Do you need any requirements other than the play-in-one-quest thingy? I'm an idiot.P] I can't control my tongue. Quote

I'm an idiot.P] I can't control my tongue. Unless there's a bunch of low level heroes, I'd suggest maybe going on one more quest first. There's a couple of mechanics that weren't touched on in your first quest and it'd be good to experience another QM's style. Otherwise plan something simple, build up to the epic size quests. An even better solution would be to look for a cohost (preferably someone who has a little more QM experience), it helps to be able to run stuff by someone mid quest as well as in the planning stages. Sandy, Zepher, CallMePie, Brickdoctor, JimB, Scubacarrot, Endgame, and Flipz are great resources, use them. Quote

I'm an idiot.P] I can't control my tongue. Not that I know of, but Sandy has to consider you ready to QM(as well as having a well-enough crafted quest), before you can start. Your RP sessions have definitely proved(at least to me), that you're capable of writing an interesting and compelling plot, but your non-player interactions...well, just going on your last two posts alone... Scubacarrot Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 As I said in another topic, I would be happy to help people with sets that I can do, and of course with other parts of a quest. Since I don't have all the time in the world I can't host a quest of my own, but I'll definitely co-host with someone. Quote
bionicle_fanatic Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 XD Lind, I can't help it if I'm constantly stating that I'm an idiot, or that I can't hold my tongue I'm an idiot.P] I'm an idiot.P] It's just the emotes, one of the staff is pulling an early april fools on me 9_9 I'm an idiot.P] Should be back to normal soon [;)] I can't control my tongue. Scubacarrot Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 That's hilarious. Pro-tip: You could just try learning to use the emotes of the forum you are actually using! They are cool, they are Lego-y and stuff.  Quote

The Legonater Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Whatevs, so long as they change it back soon I'm an idiot.P] It's kinda hard for people to read my posts otherwise I'm an idiot.P] Quite frankly, it's hard to read your posts anyways. It'd be far easier for everyone for you to just use the emoticans that have been supplied to you. I get that at higher levels, the leveling does slow down to an extreme, but isn't that kind of the point? The highest level classes are there to be earned through long loyalty to the game, not jumping up through the game as quickly as possible. I've only been on #122 for a fraction of the two times* I went to the Fields, but in that short bit of time I've had more fun playing than the entire time I spent Fielding. Now, I'm not saying I didn't suffer from a particularly bad case of this when I was starting up my first FoG team, because I did, but I really think people need to focus more on the RP, and less on their levels and gear. It is called Heroica: The RPG for a reason... Because it's a role playing game, meaning people are allowed to play whatever role they choose. Some enjoy developing character and going on very character-related quests. Some simply enjoy watching the world develop. Some enjoy grinding through tough battles and using strategy to get the best gear. The FoG was created specifically for the latter team. If grinding isn't something you enjoy, there's no harm in that. It simply means the FoG isn't for you. That's no reason to try to dictate other's play experience, though. Quote
Myrddyn Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Just to throw up an idea I had regarding earlier comments about the rate of xp gain, how about if a players second character - (so if they meet the requirements to run two characters at once, and maybe also if they abandon a character and start over) - could gain maybe double xp until they reach the level of their older character? Spoiler rant warning: Bionicle fanatic's new emoticons are so cool. Hmm so every time Bionicle_fanatic uses one of those weird emoticons it says "I'm an idiot"? Does that work for everyone? [:P] Probably not it doesn't even do it to him/her with this one [;)] does it? So is it every time he/she says "[:"? Under what circumstances does it add "I can't control my tongue"? Does it come up in preview or only after he/she posts? Oh also it seems to have not added it when he said "[:P]" Would it even still happen if he/she added other font effects like spoiler tags? That said though, if you went to a country that spoke a different language to the one you'd been brought up with, sure you'd still (probably) be allowed to use your native language, but people would have a hard time understanding you, and if you hung around places for public debate all the time giving speeches in your native language that noone could understand, you might get kicked out.
