Kintobor Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Will Puppeteer ever become a class, and if so, what will be the requirements? I doubt it. It seems to simply be an NPC class, like Gravedigger. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) I doubt it. It seems to simply be an NPC class, like Gravedigger. Rats. And I'd thought I'd finally found the perfect secondary character... On the positive side of things, it's given me the idea for a new class. My mind is ' ' with ideas, as it were... Actaeon Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Where is the Quest #126 topic? :P Also, who is the party leader? Also: HEY! I'm a knight :) Quote
Asphalt Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) yep definitely a ranger. The thread doesn't appear to be up yet. Who wants to be leader? I can give it a whirl if none objects. Edited January 30, 2015 by Asphalt Quote
KotZ Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I'm writing it right now. Got out of class awhile ago and had to make an unexpected trip to the store, but it should be up in twenty minutes, and party leader will be posted in the thread. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) Hello Robert10ant and welcome to Heroica RPG. A few things to note about your character statistics: - Need to specify a class (Barbarian, Cleric, Knight, Mage, Ranger, Rogue (from looking at your inventory I'm assuming Rogue) - Liquid metal needs to have a weapon type associated with it (see what weapon types are available to Rogues) Edited January 30, 2015 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Robert10ant Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Hi! I can't wait to get properly started, this looks like a great game. Thanks for being friendly when pointing out my errors, I've had people (in other communities) just berate me. It's much appreciated. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Indeed! Welcome to Heroica! Thanks for being friendly when pointing out my errors, I've had people (in other communities) just berate me. It's much appreciated. You'll find that Eurobricks is a really friendly place overall(except for some of the more heated discussion forums), and Heroica is one of the friendliest(and patient!). Just one tip - from the string of ""s, I'm guessing you like to use emoticons. That's perfectly fine, but try to use the official Eurobricks ones, which can be found by clicking on the smiley face above the text box. It's not something you'll get banned for if you keep doing, but it's the way we post around here. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Welcome! I like your character design, it's something else entirely! Quote
Asphalt Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 (edited) Indeed, you normal humans better watch out. the monsters are taking over. Glad you got those mistake ironed out. He looks good now. Mini Tip Robert, don't get too attached to your creation weapon. Chances are you won't have it too long. Edited January 31, 2015 by Asphalt Quote
Robert10ant Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks, Scubacarrot! It's basically a modified version of the spider queen from chima, and I used LDD extended to its full potential when designing him. A small warning; this character is not likeable in any way. I think that he will be liked by the players, but all the characters will hate him. I came up with the "idea" from getting tired of the cliched "rogue with a heart of gold" character. This is not a rogue with a heart of gold. This is a rogue without a heart, both metaphorically and in-character. Yessiree, I've got a pretty decent backstory for him. Thanks for the heads up, Lind Whisperer! I'm glad to be here. Really, Asphalt? Damn, I loved the idea. Oh well, it's not like it was part of my backstory (luckily). Quote
Asphalt Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 you could keep it, but you might have to pass up other weapons. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Damn, my secondary character was going to be a heartless jerk! Then again, it'll be much more fun seeing someone else developing it. Good luck. @Asphalt, I disagree. I've still got my original weapon! Then again, 2 quests isn't a huge time. Quote
Robert10ant Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 (edited) Sorry about that, The Chosen Minifigure. Thanks for your encouragement. :tongue; Edited January 31, 2015 by Robert10ant Quote
Yzalirk Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Welcome aboard! I strongly suggest that you crop down your picture though so it doesn't take up a lot of room for when your on a quest. It helps keep things organized and "tidy". I should mention that it isn't very wise to be unlikable since you don't want people to not like you and not want to quest with you because of being negative all the time. Overall though, I think you took a badass approach for a character. And Asphalt, Dwarves are secretly the best. Quote

Sounds interesting - I'll be looking forward to reading his story. Also, if there's any species background/backstory you'd like to share outside of charactr interaction, feel free to post a bio/tome in the Library. (I've linked to my post on the Munchkins* as an example.) Really, Asphalt? Damn, I loved the idea. Oh well, it's not like it was part of my backstory (luckily). Actually, you can keep it, if you have a weapon of the same type. You just switch stats and names. *Who are not small, no matter how many short jokes a certain gnome cracks. Quote

You'll find there's actually a good mix of rogues (and other characters) in the hall, some will befriend you, others will gut your corpse and steal your boots. Generally you'll come across a better weapon in a quest that will over shadow your starter weapon, nothing wrong with wanting/trying to stick with it though. Quote

He's widely disliked, but that doesn't affect his quest count(for my part, he's one of my favorite characters even). And Asphalt, Dwarves are secretly the best. You're both wrong. Munchkins are the best. Quote

There's been plenty of examples of well written disliked in-game characters (Pretzel, Guts, Throlar [to some extent]). Too often we as players want to be so chummy with each-other that that spills into our role-play and our characters are agreeable with everyone. Good old fashioned rivalries and prejudices never hurt anyone. Quote

Good old fashioned rivalries and prejudices never hurt anyone. That is true, I guess I can never pull off that type of character than. Me? Well, let's just say I can pull off a pretty good smart-big behind character because I'm one in real life. Munchkins are just Humans with a complex. Half Giants on the other hand, well it goes without saying. There is a reason there are only two of us thus far. I don't even know what to say to that since that is basically it! I think it goes without saying that Humans are just overrated. Quote
