Sandy Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 It would be particularly annoying to not have an ending after seven months. Story-wise, I'd rather we write an ending. I don't want to be disrespectful to Endgame or other QMs, but I feel that the players are owed the reward/a story finale after that much work. I understand, but would it really feel the same without Endgame's input? It would be kinda like those alternative fan-fic endings to Harry Potter or LotR... Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I actually never thought about Heckz's voice until now... Maybe I should get to it when posting. I picture him as sort of a . Quote
K-Nut Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I can't think of a suitable actress right now, but I've always imagined Ellaria having a sweet and calm voice, not high-pitched but not very low either, with a hint of a southern state accent due to her country girl background. Once you start watching Angel, there's a character on there that seems just like the type of voice you're talking about. I've always thought of Althior sounding like Alexis Denisof/Benedict Cumberbatch. Both of them have deep, hollow voices and can sound arrogant at times, all of which are characteristics of Althior. Scubacarrot Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 those alternative fan-fic endings to Harry Potter or LotR... I had some thoughts for some mean Boomingham/Masson interaction to give it that REAL fanfic feeling if you know what I mean. What do people think of Ian McShane for Guts? Quote

Emjajoas Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 It would be particularly annoying to not have an ending after seven months. Story-wise, I'd rather we write an ending. I don't want to be disrespectful to Endgame or other QMs, but I feel that the players are owed the reward/a story finale after that much work. I agree. We've been on this quest for the better part of, what, 7 months? 8 months? For it to cancel and for us to not get a reward or a proper ending would be incredibly frustrating. I'd rather wait it out than cancel; there's not way Endgame's going to be gone for much longer. Worst-case scenario, we write something off and then come together and discuss it afterwards (With Endgame when he comes back). There's no "perfect" solution, but cancelling and us Questees getting nothing for all of our effort is the worst possible one, I feel. If an actual ending is written, I'd love to help out with the writing of it. Although I appreciate the offer, I feel like the questees should write out the ending of them taking down the Regret-- and then leaving. Anything Regret-related should basically be left alone. Endgame can flesh that out when he gets back. We can just kill him off and the retcon his final moments (or something to that effect). And based on the lack of loot and the only thing left in the battle being the Regret's Heart, I imagine Endgame had a final boss phase planned-- probably story-based. And although I don't want to take that from him (and the final battle has next to no other loot to speak of so I imagine it's all to do with the heart), I do want to get this quest over with. But I also feel like without whatever Endgame has planned for loot for this battle, we're missing out on something big. I'd really like a nice something-or-other to commemorate the final battle/finale (and make it all worth it), but I also feel like that can wait until Endgame gets back to fix the mess. To be honest, I'd just like to get back to the Hall and get on a good story-based quest, because I'd like to develop my character more after introducing his "Big Trait" and PLing against all these Endgame bosses for this long in 105 has left my "game-brain" a little muddled. Lind Whisperer Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 What do people think of Ian McShane for Guts? I've personally always pictured Guts as acting and looking exactly like Vin Diesel. That could just be me, though... Quote

Flipz Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 You could just use the rich text editor and avoid the headaches altogether... Well, in the rich text editor, half the time I can't start a new paragraph with "Enter" without refreshing the page two or three times, so... The RTE also has this nasty habit of applying formatting to text you don't have selected, while not applying said formatting to some of the text you (think you) do have selected. It's extremely glitchy and doesn't handle complex Heroica formatting very well--as evidenced by the ridiculous code tags I've revealed before, like the editor applying the [ u ] tags six or seven times in a row on Endgame's Round titles. That over an image of the Regret picking himself up and laughing sounds right. Quote

I've had those problems too, but for me it's nothing a simple Ctrl+Z couldn't fix. Also the eraser button that clears all formatting is useful. To each their own, but I've learned to deal with the glitchiness quickly and painlessly. Quote

It's nice to have a bit of progress, at least. Hopefully Endgame'll be back to wrap things up within the next day or two. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Definitely Sean Connery for Skrall, I haven't played Boris enough yet to find his voice. Originally I was going to go for a thick Russian accent, but decided to opt out of that. Quote
