Khorne Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) Did we ever find out the name of the missing missionary in 111? I think his name was mentioned some times, even though he was mostly referred to as simply "the missionary". I'll look it up . EDIT: The priest's name was Jeremiah. The Polkung chieftain mentions it on the last page of the Quest. Edited February 8, 2015 by Khorne Quote
Zepher Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Just running the battles probably does not sound like a very fun or thankful job... Anyone want to build a house with me? I'm not really into manual labor, but I can tell you what I want it to look like and you can take it from there! I think his name was mentioned some times, even though he was mostly referred to as simply "the missionary". I'll look it up . EDIT: The priest's name was Jeremiah. The Polkung chieftain mentions it on the last page of the Quest. Thank you! It's just for a quick shout out, but I wanted to do it if possible. Quote
Zepher Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I have been re-reading Alisameth's speech patterns from 49 and 111 and she speaks bizarrely in both. Very stiffly formal in 49, and very much like a happy young girl in 111. I love it. EDIT: Thought those would merge, sorry guys. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Good Point. Actually, I'd probably give them something more to do. Depends which of my quest ideas I choose. I don't think that's the right way to go about co-hosting with someone. If you're gonna co-host, you want to be on the same level as the other host, right, we're all equals on the internet. You can of course have different roles in the co-hosting process, but it shouldn't be you the leader looking for a lackey that you allow to do things. If I were you, I would just look for a co-host, mention that you really want to host a quest and had some cool ideas, and take it from there. Hosting a quest takes time, yes. But, the maths seem big and scary, but Random.org/dice, windows calculator and the Quote functionality make it quite simple. Quote
Kintobor Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) Warlen? Warlen. Can't say I've heard your name before, but then again, the Highland's far off. Wallace William is my name. If you need someone's head bashed in or a country liberated, I'm your man. You look like a man in need of blue face paint. It's a guaranteed victory. Terrorwin, if you're interested in joining the game, please read the FAQ. You've disrupted a quest and basically disrupted the flow of the narrative. Make a character up and post in the hall. I'm talking to KingofZempk so he can speak to Sandy, the Heroica Master, about this, but it's always wise to read around a little bit and ask questions if you don't know what you're doing. I hid his post and the following OoC-comments so that the quest could continue undisturbed. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Imagine if Sandy went mad and started abusing the power, changing what was said, editing what happens in battles and even removing whole quests! ... ...imagine if this post sent Sandy over the edge... Quote
Cutcobra Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 ...imagine if this post sent Sandy over the edge... You would be banned until the end of time and sent to oblivion in the hellish pits of perfect figbarfs! Quote
Zepher Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I read back over the end of the Battle of the Augustus Bridge to make sure Nerwen really was the one who ordered Raguel's death, and to my relief she is. I loved that conversation, Chrome, if you ever get the chance go back and re-read it. I genuinely think it was good playing on both of our sides, and is also something tha totally surprised in how much it fueled for me as far as future story-lines went (I really had no idea that he'd be discussed so much afterwards, but it just sort of happened because I enjoyed playing that moment so much with you). Another great example of how collaboration makes Heroica much better. Also, I warned everyone this quest would finally start to tie things together. Hopefully I've done the background work enough for it to not feel too overloaded. The Three Sisters were introduced almost 2 years ago. Quote

Zepher Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 But yeah, luckily my life's ambitions do not include tyrannical domination of a LEGO message forum. You say that now, but the idea has just been introduced... perhaps it will start to fester, keep you up at night, until finally you realize that's what you wanted all along... who knows? Quote
Palathadric Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 But yeah, luckily my life's ambitions do not include tyrannical domination of a LEGO message forum. Yeah, besides, somebody who did have those ambitions would probably say those same things. They'd need to wait until the time when the could get everyone to bow down and worship them and then...oh wait, we already did that to you. Quote

We all know you're just biding your time, waiting for the right moment to take over EuroBricks, and then send us out as your minions to conquer Denmark and then the rest of Europe, and then the world. Asphalt Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Looking up a few times, and erasing a lot of the drawing, Warlens picture slowly came to fruition. "Symmetrical 'staches are quite hard, and you can see a lot of eraser marks, but it's not too bad." So is Warlen our first character to be an artist? Quote

With his mighty Heroica Master abilities he shall conquer the galaxies themselves and bend the Flying Spaghetti Monster to his will along his great set-making powers! :devil_laugh: (double devil face for added dramatic effect) Edited February 9, 2015 by Cutcobra Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 So is Warlen our first character to be an artist? Lind probably studied art at some point, but if he has, he's never mentioned it. Another great example of how collaboration makes Heroica much better. As you pointed out at the end of #102, Nerwen doesn't regret that decision, but it really has shaped her. Especially since the decision was constrained by not having read the other quests and, at the time, thinking Raguel bore some responsibility for Speros' son and Imaestym. Making decisions based on incomplete/insufficient information is a personal bugbear (and something hammered hard in #102 too!) Reading back over it was interesting, and bound up with my (player) memory of negotitating a very complex battle and loot distribution followed by a discussion involving a dozen player characters and nearly that many NPCs. It still retains it's power and I'm looking forward to going back to hear what's happened with David and Speros (even if I don't see them). Quote

I don't think Nerwen made the wrong choice there, either, and I wouldn't personally argue that it's something she should regret (though some of my NPCs might disagree, but I've never agreed with any of my NPCs totally ). And yes, David and Speros will be back eventually! Is Hoke going to miss out on seeing Vipera? Don't worry, I'll let you know when Vipera is coming back. She misses you too. (And is ANOTHER great example of a character who came out of a player choice). Quote

The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Thanks everybody for your support (and discouragement) of my 1st quest, however the general message I've been getting is to start out small. I'll still release the planned quest, just in a few months. Thanks again for the support. Quote
Sandy Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 I'll still release the planned quest, just in a few months. Again, you still have to get your quest idea approved by me before you can release it. I'm not advicing you to start out small because I don't trust you, but because people who have never QM'd before do not necessarily realize everything it requires. You shouldn't bite more than you can chew. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 No, it's ok. You haven't hurt my feelings. ... Walks off into a corner and cries. "Why, why??!!" Quote
Myrddyn Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 He reaches for his crossbow out of instinct but quickly weighs his odds. It was unlikely that his bolt would do little damage. Instead he reaches for his plethora of potions and hurls one at the lunging female as he works to put a little distance between him and her. Actually since Donna is Undead/Humanoid, Darksten's Spider String Bow does double damage. Undead is neutral against Darkness. Quote
