K-Nut Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I think you broke Arthur, Sandy. If Althior weren't already broken, he'd be in the same boat. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Equestria offers each hero a chance to buy any single pre-existing consumable item they wish. Each hero names the item they want, and Equestria name's the price. The possibilities for a Munchkin... :cry_happy: :cry_happy: Technically, you could buy a Zoot's Plaything, since it's an item that's consumable... (If it was only 'buy any single pre-existing consumable,' consumable would receive the action of the transitive verb buy. But item is receiving the action of the verb buy, thus meaning that consumable is only an adjective - and thereby only limits the choice to things that can be consumed...) Quote
K-Nut Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Technically, you could buy a Zoot's Plaything, since it's an item that's consumable... We tried that in Quest #100 already. Didn't really work out, unfortunately. Quote
Asphalt Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) I need to read up on the plaything. I didn't see it as a consumable. I thought it was a weapon. Edited February 15, 2015 by Asphalt Quote
K-Nut Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I need to read up on the plaything. I didn't see it as a consumable. I thought it was a weapon. It's a consumable that turns into a weapon. It's why Hoke has been saving his since he got it Quote
Asphalt Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I didn't realize it was considered a consumable. I thought it was a weapon that needed to be activated. Semantics I guesse. Quote
Zepher Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 It's a consumable that back in my first hosting job I didn't imagine others would attempt to abuse. Quote
Flipz Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 It's a consumable that back in my first hosting job I didn't imagine others would attempt to abuse. I seem to recall your first bit of QMing advice you gave me was (paraphrasing): "your players will attempt to abuse EVERYTHING." Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I seem to recall your first bit of QMing advice you gave me was (paraphrasing): "your players will attempt to abuse EVERYTHING." If Lind is on the (hoped-for) quest that drops the last Plaything, and he manages to convince the others to let him have it, there won't be any abusing of its powers. I have a special bit of RP in mind for that situation... Quote

The Legonater Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Yeah, I'm fine with the Playthings ending with Wren. I won't lie, it'd be cool to have one - Dyric was very closely tied to that arc - but that was a while ago and Dyric's doing pretty fine for himself without one. Quote

Oh yeah, me too, I don't care whatsoever about having one of the most absurd weapons in the game, I'm all about the roleplaying. Quote
Flipz Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Yeah, I have to agree; I may be biased, but all of us who got Playthings really earned them through long-term gameplay and character investment. IF by some crazy chance one last one is dropped, it should go to one of us who invested in the original storyline, like Dyric or Atramor or Skrall. (Although personally, I'd rather have that "spot" of a Plaything replaced with some sort of event that makes all of the existing Plaything weapons stronger--but then again, I'm definitely biased there. ) Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 It would cheapen them to allow them out in the wild without Wren. From a story perspective she was the cause of them and those who fought her earned the drops. Not just talking as a holder of one. Quote
Zepher Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 If someone else wants to also pick up Crimson Haze Boomingham would pay top dollar for it. Quote
StickFig Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 If someone else wants to also pick up Crimson Haze Boomingham would pay top dollar for it. Yeah, wouldn't we all. Would be an incredible upgrade for the Fireball Extraordinaire.... Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 If someone else wants to also pick up Crimson Haze Boomingham would pay top dollar for it. Guts would too. That is one cool item. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Oh yeah, me too, I don't care whatsoever about having one of the most absurd weapons in the game, I'm all about the roleplaying. How exactly is it absurd? Is it absurd that Hoke has had it in his inventory FOR 2 YEARS? Or that Hoke was in at least 2 of the Wren quests? Absurd? Nope. It's patience and strategic PC building. I've roleplayed the Plaything several times in the past 2 years, and soon, it will all come to fruition. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Yeah we get it Scuba, Guts is rich. You're forgetting overpowered. Quote
Asphalt Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Refresh me if I am wrong. I cant seem to find the initial description, and yes I know there is a search but it has been mentioned so much lately that it isn't panning out. Zoot's Play thing. Consumable, becomes a weapon of choice with WP equal to (or in the 3/4 edition, 3/4 of) the players current level. Quote
Cutcobra Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Heckz is willing to pay for another Wicked Perfume. Just in case he pushes another hero/heroine to the edge. Quote

Hoke would also be interested in a Crimson Haze, Bright Polish & Grating Stones. Edited February 15, 2015 by UsernameMDM Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 What does the Crimson Haze do? Adds Poison +7 & Cursed permanently to a weapon. Quote
