JimBee Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Tin Armour, come to Daddy. No...seriously. Just so you know, Pretzel could get better mileage out of the Shadeaux Cloak than Arthur...for now. An Artisan with the Tin Knight set, Marauder's Mantle and Shadeaux Cape? *crunches numbers* 96 SP... Quote

Palathadric Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 An Artisan with the Tin Knight set, Marauder's Mantle and Shadeaux Cape? *crunches numbers* 96 SP... I'm just praying Sandy doesn't stroll by this thread too often. Although I have only been on two Shadeaux quests thus far. Quote
Flipz Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 And as the silence grows, the tears of a grief stricken Warden who breaks fourth walls could be heard. Wait, can artifacts be renamed? (Tin Mantle, Tin Shadeaux Cape ) No, they can't IIRC. Weapons, yes, but I've never heard of Artifacts being renamed. And Artisan at Level 50 is just a beast in general--6 Artifact slots on an Artisan opens a LOT of possibilities. Probably for now I'll just go with the Tin Armor and Gloves, plus the Shadeaux Cape and Duplovian Helmet along with the Blue Hand Shield--if I really really want the extra SP, I can swap the helmet for the boots (the Tin Helmet is completely superfluous given my other immunities, so I'm only keeping it for cases where extreme SP is needed). And by the way, for those wondering: the Shadeaux Cape is still superior, because it's suitable for every class except Minstrel (and even a Minstrel could possibly wear it, albeit only in its weakest form). KotZ Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Hey 126ers, sorry for the delay, I had a personal issue come up earlier today when I was going to update the post and now I need to catch some sleep as I have to get up early tomorrow. The update will be up tomorrow. Sorry for the trouble, guys. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 "Well ma'am, the song is now being sung by the famous Carly Swift so a lot of the local populous is familiar with your work. We haven't had a chance to talk to him yet to get the full story, but it it seems she got it after your son came across the manuscript and some of his peers overheard him talking about it. They must have thought it was pretty good and passed it to their idol Carly to be used as inspiration. So bottom line, to explain how your song is in the public now, everything seems to have started with your son coming across the manuscript and ending with it being sung by Carly Swift. Hope that answers your intent ma'am" Are you sure Darksten's a Ranger, not a Rogue? Quote

KotZ Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Take care of yourself. Looking forward to the update. Thanks. Luckily it wasn't exactly affecting me but a friend, but they're ok now. The battle is up, and I hope you guys enjoy it! Quote
Flipz Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 You can't throw Kobolds very far 'cause they tend to bite your arm off if you try picking them up. But if they need you to throw them, or trust them, you can get a decent distance. I just want to point out how beautiful this wordplay is. Quote

I always go crazy fitting the various parts together in my head. Quote
Zepher Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I just want to point out how beautiful this wordplay is. 127 has had wonderful interactions: both PCs to PCs and PCs to NPCs. And soon we get to start to see heads roll. Quote
Zepher Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Alright all, I am traveling once more this weekend and will be leaving in under an hour! I gave 127 a heads up a few days ago! I will be back by Sunday afternoon/evening, and then updates will be regular for a long time from me! Thanks for the patience. Quote
Flipz Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) Actually, the bagpipes are the worst of the four--Minstrels aren't really about mega direct damage. The instruments, from best to worst (IMO) are: *Flute (Nimble, helps a lot with Free Hits from being at the top of the BO) *Saxophone (Transcended, thus provides a small but noticeable Ether discount on songs) *Guitar (Lucky, if you have to attack instead of sing best to be Lucky over Encouraged) *Bagpipes (perma-Encouraged is nice, but it's outclassed by the other options.) EDIT: I can't count. Edited February 26, 2015 by Flipz Quote
Asphalt Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Yeah, but bagpipes are by far the most fear inducing instrument. Quote
Cutcobra Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) As I said in the Expert Class Discussion thread, I realized having a demonologist as a class just won't cut it for me due to it not being unique enough. So, inspired by Sandy's recent "Tin" set, a set of weapons in a game called Avenger's Alliance and "Warlock" type classes in all games, I have made the Demonologist Set. I probably won't make it drop anytime soon so I'll just post it here for any QM to use: Demonologist's Hood: (Makes the user Blinded; If the user is Cursed it deals it's negative effects to it's enemy through spells; suitable to mages, necromancers and weather mages.) Demonologist's Robes: (Makes the user Cursed; if the user is Weakened, it transfers health from the target equal to spell damage done to it; suitable to mages, necromancers and weather mages.) Demonologist's Gloves: (Spellpower + 5; makes the user Weakened; If the user is Poisoned, it multiplies it's spellpower by the number of "Demonologist" artifacts equipped; suitable to mages, necromancers and weather mages.) Demonologist's Boots: (Makes the user Poisoned;. If the user is Blinded, it doubles the power of ice, fire, dark and lightning spells; suitable to mages, necromancers and weather mages.) Edited February 27, 2015 by Cutcobra Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I think that the negatives outweigh the positives. Blinded is OK, but with the rest you take double damage, loose 1 health and an additional 10% each round. And for what? A little extra power, the ability to transfer effects, to steal health as long as you manage to hit the enemy, and to double the power of certain spells? You would need some way to easily heal if you had all that. Like, really easily. Quote
Tachyon Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 People probably won't use them, due to the min-maxers having their own powerful builds and decent support staff (Alchemists, Healers and CC users) Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Contributing to the discussion of Artefact sets... Artists Set. Artists Straw Hat-Protects from Poisoned, Cursed and Bleeding (Headwear). Artists Smock-SP:5, multiplied by the number of Artists artefacts equipped, immune to sealed and blinded (Bodywear). Artists Paintbrush-Elemental attacks deal additional damage equal to 5 times the amount of Artists artefacts equipped (Accessory). Artists Boots-The Artist is permanently Slowed and Hastened (Footwear). Quote
Kintobor Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 What's the benefit of being both slowed and hastened? That artefact looks like it's going straight to Fabian's store to enjoy a shelf life of forever. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Durrr.... wake up TCM, that was obviously a bad idea! Quote
Flipz Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 While Cursed might be a bit much to deal with, the rest of that Demonologist set is actually a pretty decent idea; I can think of at least three Heroes (*cough*Ellaria, Nur, and Vindsval*cough*) who could make excellent use of the set thanks to headwear of their own. Maybe replace Cursed with Bleeding (to complement the "slow drain of health in exchange for power" mechanic), or else swap it for something like Slowed. I'd also consider swapping out Weakened for Enraged, since the Weakened would more than cancel out any benefit granted by the spellpower bonus. Oh, and to make the set future-proof, I'd change the suitability to "suitable to all classes with the Spellcasting Job Trait". Quote
Asphalt Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Yes I believe Vindsval would be very interested in those boots. But he couldn't use them being mage boots. Quote
