JimBee Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 You know I always wonder if people feel their characters would fit a certain class because of their RP or that they would fit the class because they're powerful classes. Honestly though I'd suggest you throw a NPC vindicator on the quest, Sandy, to try out some of the mechanics. I'm still not yet convinced the Zweihander grip isn't too powerful. Hybros is not at all fitting for the RP theme of Vindicator, but it is a powerful class that I want to try out. To answer your question. Quote
Flipz Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Eh. I love the mechanics of Weather Mage (to me, it fits my own vision of the ultimate mage-class playstyle), but it's not that great a fit for Arthur roleplay-wise. I am glad I tried it, but to be frank I mostly tried it because I thought it would be mechanically fun to play. That being said, playing a class I don't really fit isn't as fun as when my class and my character are in sync, so I'll probably go back to Dragoon and stay there when I switch out of Weather Mage (not sure whether or not I'll actually make the change before my hiatus, though). Quote
UsernameMDM Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I think Weather Mage fits Arthur (and Flipz) perfectly: Controllers/Strategist. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) I'd like to give Marauder a try, since I'm liking the idea of double attacks, but I think Dragoon would suit Lind better RP-wise. Edited March 10, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Warlen, if he gets back on time, would prefer the Marauders quest. He's equally likely to use each class (low), but would prefer roughly 300 gold to whatever a "Danabs Apple" is. Seriously, what is that? An apple that converts you to Danabs faith? Quote

The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 What gems should be imbued to get the biggest multiplier against A-Humanoids and B-Beasts. I've looked at the gem sheet, but I'm amazed you can't get s better multiplier than 2 on humanoids. I thought, must be wrong, so now I ask the pros! Thoughts? Quote

Humanoids only get the x2--makes up a little for them being so common, I suppose. For Beasts, an Opal plus a Ruby will give you the desired x4. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Cool. Now to build three powerful weapons: 2 based on Flipz's chart (from at back), and one "Beastraker". 4x against beasts, that's all I'm saying. Quote

I am looking at it for Vindsval as a Roleplay fit. Protecting and avenging hand of the gods would seem to fit him fairly well. Quote
samurai-turtle Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Where is this "chart" located. (Is their some sort of link?) And does any one know what this "Danabs Apple" is or do? Edited March 10, 2015 by samuraiturtle Quote
Khorne Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Maybe I'll just sign up for both quests and let fate decide. My plan exactly . I really love both classes that are offered and while Sandy's Quest would be awesome for RP'ing, I never been on a a Pie Quest. I really can't decide which one I'd like to be on most... I'll probably be following you aboard, aside from the fact that both of those classed are perfect for Throlar, life would probably become meaningless for him without his constant arguments with Eric. In a way, I would kind of miss Throlar and the constant arguments and pestering. On the other hand, though, a Quest without Throlar and all the animosity would be refreshing again, plus I'm pretty sure the constant arguing between our characters is not very easy for the QM to handle . We will see where fate brings our characters . I've said it before here, but Throlar's like the Joker to my Batman, or Eric's the Joker to your Batman, I don't really know what role fits either of them better. After having spent three Quests together, Eric's life would feel empty without his nemesis. You know I always wonder if people feel their characters would fit a certain class because of their RP or that they would fit the class because they're powerful classes. Honestly though I'd suggest you throw a NPC vindicator on the quest, Sandy, to try out some of the mechanics. I'm still not yet convinced the Zweihander grip isn't too powerful. Currently, Eric is still a Raider, mainly for RP classes and also because I really like the class. I love the Damage I can dish out with it. Originally, I planned for Eric to become a Berserker, but I hardly see the "Knight" aspect of the class applying to him anymore. And does any one know what this "Danabs Apple" is or do? Maybe it turns your character into a woman? Or it restores Health, like a Health core, but that would be kind of lame ... Edited March 10, 2015 by Khorne Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 A Danab's Apple is a rare item that makes your character explode!! Seriously, just play the game and sign up for a quest! I'm sure it'll be alright. I've gotta say, the Hall is filled with people I'd love to quest with. Maybe we can hook Nur in too. And its a very very fine line you two walk. I like character animosity - not everyone would get along, that'd be silly - but I can say my one quest with Tholar was exhausting. I think you've gotten a lot better since than Duvors, but it's still something to be careful about or else it suddenly makes the quest all about you. Quote

We really need to do Henry's this year. I have no clue who'd I choose as "Best Character" now, there are just so many I like. And its a very very fine line you two walk. I think you've gotten a lot better since than Duvors, but it's still something to be careful about or else it suddenly makes the quest all about you. Yep, exhausting was the word I was looking for. It is very exhausting. Not only for the players, but also for the QM, I believe. I wouldn't mind a break from questing with Throlar (nothing personal against Lord Duvors), but just because it's really difficult having arguments all the time and not breaking the mood of the Quest. It's fun, but hard. That's why I had Eric "team" up with Heckz. I kind of made sense, and I wanted to get along with at least someone . Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Oh yeah, it was Pretzel. Maybe the quest he's on will magically be cut short and he can come quest with us instead. And yeah, the Henrys would be near impossible for me to vote at. There are so many strong characters. Quote

I have not been getting picked to go on any quest. Maybe, I just suck at playing this game. Besides that is my basic plan (go on the quest). I, like some other players just want to know what this "apple" does. Quote

I apologize I haven't gotten my quest to Sandy yet - I've just been really busy with life. It's a newbie-level quest for five or six different players, so there'll almost certainly be room for you on it. Edited March 10, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
JimBee Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Sure it wasn't Guts? Yeah, I thought so too, but Pretzel would also be interesting. Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I think it was Guts . Though if the party in the fields leaves in time I'd be more than happy to quest with any of them. Quote

Kintobor Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I'm incredibly surprised we've gone this long without having a long lasting villainous dragon. It's one of the classic fantasy tropes, and I'm surprised we haven't done anything with a reoccurring dragon villain. Quote

Well, we do have a reoccurring dragon that dragoons are supposed* to get their eggs from... But the problem with a reoccurring dragon villain is that they'd need to survive each quest. I suppose you could do it somehow, but it'd take some writing to make it work while still having a "pay-off" at the end each time... Or, you could just give the dragon a bunch of gold-and-loot-filled lairs. That'd work too. * *Whistles innocently* Edited March 10, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
