StickFig Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) "No man is an island ranger." Actually, some men are, they just don't call them that. I expect this to pop up soon in the Expert Class Discussion.... Island Ranger These men aren't called Island Rangers, but they are. • Additional Health: +7 • Weapons: Island Rangers wield bottles of rum, tequila, and 'spirits of uncertain vintage,' which they light on fire and hurl at their enemies. • Job Traits: Animal Talk (See Ranger), Flee (See Rogue), Drunk (See Jack Sparrow) 1. WHY IS THE RUM GONE: - The Island Ranger deals damage equal to three times their weapon power added to their level, also inflicting the *Burning -X* effect to each enemy, where X is equal to their weapon power. The weapon is consumed in the action. 2. CRITICAL HIT: The Island Ranger deals damage equal to two times their weapon power added to their level. 3. HIT: The Island Ranger deals damage equal to their weapon power added to their level. 4. AIM: The Island Ranger deals damage equal to their weapon power only. 5. MARGARITAVILLE: The Island Ranger realizes it's his own damn fault and is struck by the opponent’s attack, but if the Island Ranger survives, he may immediately consume 1 liquid consumable. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE: The Island Ranger is struck by the opponent’s special skill. Edited March 16, 2015 by StickFig Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) I've taken a very long hiatus, as is obvious. What've I missed? Well, to recap, Flipz, Althior, and Alexis are cleaning house in a dollhouse, and Eric, Heckz, and Throlar just dropped off their bag of cursed items in Eubric after somehow having managed to not kill each other several times over. Meanwhile, Nerwen, Pretzel, Grimwald, and Kiray are infiltrating the Order Imperial, and Asphalt, Warlen, Annienal, Actaeon, and Midrun have just finished killing a lobster and retrieving the Golden Fleece Lotus. And, up on Mount Olympus, Sericon, Purpearl, Matthias, and Lind are fighting Hypaxxi aliens, while Lind tries to cover up the existence of said aliens. Which is going just about as well as it sounds like it would... Edited March 15, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote

Glad I chose to check up on Heroica before the signups ended , everything seems to be going well. Now I just need to catch up with my Comrades who have gotten to 30 in my absence Well, to recap, Flipz, Althior, and Alexis are cleaning house in a dollhouse, and Eric, Heckz, and Throlar just dropped off their bag of cursed items in Eubric after somehow having managed to not kill each other several times over. Kintobor Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Does this guy remind anyone of the Mad Doctor from Mickey Mouse in the Mad Doctor? Anyone? Quote

Zepher Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Well as least the "Red Death" is not contagious. Then turning to Boris: We might want to set up some traps around the place, if we are going to be stuck here. "The Red Death does not discriminate," she whispers through her trance. Her eyes stay locked ahead. "Fight for your lives." Quote
StickFig Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 :shudder: I have bad memories of that Red Death... Matthias has nightmares! Quote
JimBee Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I've said it before and I'll say it again: effect bombs are way OP. They're better than scrolls because they work without fail and affect all enemies. For a mere 30 gold the entire enemy party can be disabled for a whole round. Quote

What if the effectiveness of an effects bomb was determined by level? Low leveled enemies would always be effected, middle leveled enemies would likely be effected, and high leveled enemies would possibly be effected. Edited March 17, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote

That's hard to do when you have to determine low, middle, and high level enemies. Quote

I can of course raise their price if it feels too low. Quote
Zepher Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 As a QM dealing with them, I would strongly advise that. I would have the opportunity to not slap as many immunities onto foes, which always makes me happy. Even Arc Scrolls have been massively out-classed recently, which is a bit of a bummer - before it felt like mages could choose to focus on scrolls or spells, but now they don't feel that way. I thought it was cool to be able to specialize within even one class. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I can of course raise their price if it feels too low. The second I ask for a discount and they get raised . Damn you Sandy! Quote
Cutcobra Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 ~The price of the effect bombs in Dain Almight's Bomb Shelter have been raised to 50 gold!~ Are you proud of yourselves now? Hmm? Quote

JimBee Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 But once they're used, they're gone. I can of course raise their price if it feels too low. And then Guts will buy 500 more. I guess we'll have to see how the price change works, but I think it's more a matter of the item itself and its unlimited availability in the marketplace. Just my two cents as a QM who has seen that these items are way more powerful and annoying to deal with than even Nostrums. Quote
