Chromeknight Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I've decided that my second character will only be able to speak one word, their name. Quote
Zepher Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Because Nerwen talks so frickin' much? My original idea for my secondary character was going to be a mute assassin, but I thought Bobby would be goofier and a better shot in the arm. I think I'm going to have Bobby on perma-death constantly, though, so I might get around to some of my other characters at some point. Quote

Asphalt Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Malkovich, malkovich malcovich? MALCOVICH!!!!! Quote

Bricksandparts Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Maybe he is super duper ultra mega grand serious. I think we've surpassed Endgame's naming mechanic. How this is possible, I can't imagine. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 The hall seems more alive than it has for a while. Quote
Asphalt Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 a bunch of quests have ended recently. Maybe warmer weather is helping folk's typing fingers thaw. Quote
CMP Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I think a lot of it stems from second characters helping to spur interaction (super glad that got changed), and also from the most recent influx of newbies. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 What change do you mean? Originally second characters had to have a connection to the first. Quote
CMP Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Originally second characters had to have a connection to the first. Yes, but I was referring to the requirement for getting one. Used to be a hero had to hit Level 50 before getting a second character. Quote
Asphalt Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Did that cut down on interaction? Yeah having to be level 50 would cut down on the number of second characters Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) "Who is this that refers to Lords as demons?" That was actually Heckz's personal thoughts - Vindsval couldn't have heard them unless he's telepathic. I can see how that would be confusing, though, since almost everyone here has a different style of posting, and some people do use italicized text for speaking. Does anyone think we should formally adopt a standard style for RP posting? I personally prefer Georgia font, with speaking in blue - although now that I think about it, the blue is a bit unnecessary. Edited March 20, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote

It's (generally) accepted that you use italics for anything that isn't your character speaking. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) Normal text for speaking, italics for non-verbal, and bold for specifics and actions. Edited March 20, 2015 by UsernameMDM Quote

Normal text for speaking, italics for for non-verbal, and bold for specifics and actions. I get that. I'm suggesting that we add those to the official Rules. Quote

I use italics for action, "quoted color for speech.", and BOLD things when a QM wants a decision. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I get that. I'm suggesting that we add those to the official Rules. Why? Although it's nice to use this style, we don't need to adopt a format. "When I talk in character, this looks fine." It's also okay to think and do actions like this, as most novels do. Quote
Cutcobra Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I use normal text for speaking, italics for non-verbal actions and pink with italics for thoughts. The pink is just for Heckz, though, and it certainly will not be there for my second character. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 What happened to the Heroica arena? Quote
Cutcobra Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 And with that one coin gifted to Sarge, I am at exactly 800 gold. Where's my achievement!?! Quote
