Waterbrick Down Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I'm just a first-time QM, but I was thinking it would be an interesting thing if QMs worked together to host quest sagas that directly interlocked and crossed over with each other - like how each entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a unique, individual stand-alone story, but yet is simultaneously a distinct part of a bigger Universe. There's actually a lot of overlap depending on which QM's your reading, Zepher, CMP, Sandy, and a few others do a great job of incorporating NPC's and story plots from other QM's quests into their own. We all have stories to tell, you just have to be willing to let someone help you tell yours as well as be willing to help with others. There's a lot of space that people have worked on and I sometimes wished we did more expanding upon it as opposed to going to our own little corner of the world and then asking for others to come and expand upon our idea. JimBee Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I expect I'll actually have internet most of the time, but if anyone in Quest #129 wants to give actions for Erik if I'm holding things up that would be appreciated. You got it. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I claim the Scarf of Misfortune. Unicorn helmet, scrolls, and Begone With The Wind. Although I'd be in debt for years... Quote
Asphalt Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) I am looking for information on personalities and locations in and around the Abra Desert. Has anything been written about it? This is what I have found so far. "The Great Desert of Abra is home to many things, beings, secrets and monsters. The Trading City of Carthago is on the north side of the continent, and maintains a solid trading connection to Eubric, and is a popular stop for ships on their way to Salmanda, or is the point where travellers trade in ship for caravan, if they don't have the stomach to brave the Straight of Sirenes. The west side of the continent is an area troubled with slavers and piracy, and therefore is not a common destination for people from Eubric. There is also the location of the city-state of Strivvi, a city-state build on top of ruins of an ancient civilization, and a hub for slavers and other scum. The Great Desert itself is for the most part uncharted, and is mostly inhabited by nomads and primitive tribes, although it is said that it houses many secrets..." Waterbrick Down Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Quests 8 and 85 both took place in Abra/Azzurat. Lucustoids are a native race to the desert land. Quote
Asphalt Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I will read up on those. Is there a notable human presence in the region? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I think I wrote that bit a long time ago. Obviously there's a human presence in Strivvi, see the unfinished quests 40 and 96. Quote
Asphalt Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Would a princeling setting up a court in the region be out of character for the area? Quote
KotZ Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I know CJP did quite a bit for Cathargo, but real world is taking a lot of his time up. I can ask him some stuff for you, Asphalt. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) 1428123076[/url]' post='2183980']The Black Knight finished dodging the general's blasts, and repeated his attack. "It doesn't matter whether your race holds the crown of one star, or a thousand. Or a galaxy - or even a thousand galaxies. Because this is our world. And you'll never hold the crown to it. You'll try - oh, someday, you will try - but throughout the sky, there are still secrets that not even your greatest minds will ever know. There are still places where there are hidden powers beyond even the highest of your technological achievements, still doorways that are barred against your kind. Your kind will try someday, to seize the crown of this world - or some kind like yours - but you will fail. The world may burn in fire a hundred times, the very soil turned to desert by the blackest of dark spells - but it will never belong to you." "And I swear this, because I am The Doctor!!!" Lind Whisperer Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I can see how it'd sound like something the Doctor'd say, but that wasn't supposed to be a reference. If I was channeling anyone, I was channeling Phil Coulson... Quote
Cutcobra Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 So, I tried to cast a wind spell but then I remembered I don't have a sapphire. But really, though, is Heckz the only mage character who is at level 25 and still only has 4 gems? Quote
Purpearljellyblob Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 But really, though, is Heckz the only mage character who is at level 25 and still only has 4 gems? Purpearl's level 20 and has 3 gems, so you are not alone. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 All 9 gems before advanced class... Just saying. Quote
K-Nut Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 All 9 gems before advanced class... Just saying. And nothing really else that's good build wise. Trust me, I was in the same boat. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Ehem... Scroll of Antimagic+Wand of Enamouring? Plus a shield that prevents ether reduction? Quote
K-Nut Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Ehem... Scroll of Antimagic+Wand of Enamouring? Plus a shield that prevents ether reduction? Shield that you can't use, and wand that doesn't work with spells (where the majority of mage's attacks come from). I'll give you the fact that you have the scroll, but you could definitely have a few better items if you didn't track down all the gems. Like I said, I did the same thing myself. It's not to say your build is weak artifact wise, just that it probably could be better. Then again, there are a lot of more powerful items for basic classes than when I was there too. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 But I'm going Mystic Knight. On rolling shield, all my enemies will love me. Plus I won't have to worry about running out of ether as much. Plus I'll be able to stop the people who do use ether against me from hurting me, before making sure they have not ether to use. Or something. Trust me, it'll all fall into place when I reach advanced classes. I hope. Quote

Any chance you might be interested in enchanting my Plasma Shield, if I lent you my medallion while you did so? Quote

Trust me, it'll all fall into place when I reach advanced classes. I hope. You actually have the beginnings of a fairly decent build...for a much higher level. That Scroll is useful, but unreliable, and will drain a LOT of Ether--Ether you'll want to be saving for Enchant rolls. It's not until a rather higher level of play that that or your shield will really come into play. I'd advise you to start looking into better SP-granting Artifacts--bonus points if they also grant SP or other immunities. You have some great abilities that few others can replicate, but not a lot that will let you survive long enough to use them. Quote
