samurai-turtle Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Hmm, I just realized there might not be any low level characters available to sign up for my quest. You could just extend the sign up, hoping some of the other quests will end soon. Quote

Kintobor Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Signs his name under quest 133. Welcome to the game, Rconn0, but I really gotta ask who's signing up for the quest? If you've got a character, you should add him to the Character Stats, and add an image of your character to it. If not, you're going to need to make one. The six base classes can be checked out here in the Rules and FAQ thread. If you need any help, you can always ask in the General Discussion topic. Quote
K-Nut Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 He's posted in the character stats already. However, a link to your character in your signature would help greatly, Rconn0. Quote

Sorry for jumping to conclusions. I didn't see your character stats, although K-Nut has a good idea. Quote
Cryos Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 How does one go about linking to character stats in their signature? I knew how to do it when I rolled Baradock but I haven't been able to figure it out since I started playing again. Quote

In the upper right hand corner of every post, there's a number (for your post here, it would be #41857). If you click on that, the web address will link directly to the said post. You should be able to copy that and post the link in your signature like any other link. This link will take you right to your stats. If you click on #84 in the upper right hand corner, you'll be able to get the link to copy and paste. Quote

Khorne Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Also, a good point was raised, magic has stunted tech development so guns wouldnt be needed. Now Mech-tanks for the equalists are a different thing... I don't want to go any more off-topic in the Rules topic, so I'll just react here. Wouldn't guns fall in the same category as mech-tanks for the Equalists? To equal the playing field with a Firebender fire-mage, people could build weapons that have similar properties. Like guns. Or rudimentary flamethrowers (like the Byzantine Empire used) . Technological advance would be different to the real world, but I don't think it'd never happen at all. Like in the Avatar world the powerless would seek the means to become equal to those with magical "gifts". For clarification I'm also in the "no" camp on guns in Heroica. I just wanted to throw in my 2cents in the Avatar discussion, 'cuz AVATAAAAR! Quote
K-Nut Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I wanna join the cool kids club! Now we can't just have anyone in the cool kids club! Like in the Avatar world the powerless would seek the means to become equal to those with magical "gifts". I do think that's one of the main goals of the Alchemists. I recall someone talked about it in the first few pages of #66. Quote
Myrddyn Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I wanna join the cool kids club! Now we can't just have anyone in the cool kids club! Yeah, Barbarians, Beast Warriors, Infiltrators, Decamon Drafters and Alchemists only. You guys will have to join the cool kids mace. Quote
K-Nut Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Yeah, Barbarians, Beast Warriors, Infiltrators, Decamon Drafters and Alchemists only. You guys will have to join the cool kids mace. I have accessibility to Beast Warrior. That counts, right? Right?! Quote
Myrddyn Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Well, you can have the cool kids club in your inventory, you just can't equip it unless you change class. Quote

Everybody wands to be in the cool kids club, but Pie's been a member long-sword-er than me, and he's an instrumental member, so I must bow to his decision. #129 is really great by the way Pie, I'm having loads of fun. And I'm not just saying that to suck up to a senior member of the cool kids club - that's too cloak and dagger for me. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Herospace doesn't really have a ring to it, now has it? If there were ever to be a space/sci-fi version of Heroica, it'd be better to use the name Heroica and a new tag line. That way, you can build on already existing "branding". Like Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. A silly example of what I'm trying to say would be Heroica RPG: the Future. When Heroica RPG started I made a space version of it, just for fun. Mainly I just remade the rules pages and made some new classes. Sadly, I no longer have these files :sad_cry: . I looked for them all over my computer and my external hard drive, but they are gone. I must've deleted them waaaay back. Instead of a Hall, I also made it a space station, like you suggested. I think I called New Eubric Station, or something like that. Again, for continuity. Even though, these would be two completely different games, can't hurt to re-use some of the names, can it? Instead of the "classic" factions like you suggested, I used the more recent ones. With those Alien guys Kinto used in his Quest and a human space faction based on the Collectable Minifig space trooper guy. Blacktron was also involved as a terrorist organisation, if I recall, but I'm not really sure. I had some solid background stuff, but again, like I said, I can't find it anymore . I even had a wicked space map and all and logos for factions! I would not have any problem with a reskin. Heroica RPG is good. It's been tried and tested. Obviously, changes would have to be made for the space setting, but I don't see why you can't re-use some of the names? Factions, I'd re-name, to emphasize the Space setting is indeed different from the Fantasy one. Out of curiosity which has more appeal, existing LEGO space factions or brand new ones? I think it's kind of nice that Heroica RPG didn't reuse existing castle factions, it really allowed players the chance to create a world of their own as opposed to one already defined by the LEGO brands (Spyrius vs. Unitron, Galaxy Squad vs. Bug Aliens, etc.). Classic Factions. A dozen times over.I get why using existing castle factions wouldn't work, but I really don't think that using existing classic space factions would be limiting. Or, we could all just take a third option, and two different games could be made - one with CS factions, one without... Quote

New factions using stuff from the existing factions (both classic factions and new ones). Like Sandy did for Heroica. For example toss Classic Space, Galaxy Squad, Space Police together and call them the Galactic Alliance or whatever, using the Classic Space moon and rocket logo. Same goes for the aliens, toss some different factions, both old and new together to create something new for the RP. Use one of their logos as that faction's sigil. It's what Sandy did for his factions. Bonapartes aren't exclusively Black Falcons, they're a mixture of a lot of things. I would definitely not only use the really old 80's factions. Mix them with the newer ones to create something that appeals to everybody . Classic Factions. A dozen times over. I get why using existing castle factions wouldn't work, but I really don't think that using existing classic space factions would be limiting. Or, we could all just take a third option, and two different games could be made - one with CS factions, one without... Using existing Space factions is kind of the same thing as using existing Castle factions to me. I don't really get the difference you're aiming at? Both have worlds and stories already defined by LEGO. We could do a mix. Maybe run a poll to see the top four LEGO-made factions and then make others to inhabit the universe. What KOTZ said . On a different note: I guess Cool Kids Club is open to original Barbarians too? Quote
