Cutcobra Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Endgame has rebooted returned! Just kidding. Glad you are back, man! And no, LOTN, Heroica will remain micro transaction free. Shhh, don't give Sandy ideas! How do you think he gets all those Legos? *2 months later, an Expert Class comes out that costs 5 dollars* Quote
Sandy Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Unless Sandy decides to sell out... Shhh, don't give Sandy ideas! How do you think he gets all those Legos? *2 months later, an Expert Class comes out that costs 5 dollars* Now why haven't I thought about that before?! €_€ Quote

Pyrovisionary Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Why not sell horse armour as DLC or horses for that matter? Quote
Cutcobra Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Sellout: Requirement: Kindly donate 25 dollars to the Heroica Master. These billionaires have gold dripping from their pockets. Job Traits: Pay to Win: The sellout can obtain any existing trait he wants at the cost of 0.99 for each one. No limits! Yay! Edited April 27, 2015 by Cutcobra Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Pyrokinetic These Heroes's game is so much on fire, that nothing can survive them - including their team-mates. Job Traits: Kill it With Fire - The Pyrokinetic lights everything and everyone on fire. (Now that I think about it, this is probably one of those jokes that only is funny to the teller...Also, it's off the topic...) Question - If both the enemies and the Heroes are dead, is a quest Lost or Completed? Edited April 27, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
K-Nut Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Question - If both the enemies and the Heroes are dead, is a quest Lost or Completed? Lost. That's what happened to Throlar on Quest #100 Quote
Asphalt Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 One would have to die first. But I guess if there were enough end of reound negative effects it could happen. Depends on if the negative effects still go into effect if the fight is finished. Quote

Depends on if the negative effects still go into effect if the fight is finished. That's possible. I know Flipz and I were almost doomed during #125, but we had an NPC survive. With #100 it had to do with a Special Damage roll that took out the hero and the enemy. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Heroes don't die, they get knocked out. Don't they? Quote
Kintobor Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Heroes don't die, they get knocked out. Don't they? You see, when a hero joins Heroica, they are entered into a soul binding contract. Their souls are kept within The Valkyrie's Nôrn artefact, so the heroes are all unknowingly husks of themselves, not able to die since they're souls are not on their body. Heroes aren't made aware of this, since it would cause them to go into a frenzy, and potentially harm themselves. Still, I think you should join. And yes, this was all one big ploy to reference Madoka Magica. Go watch that show. Now. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Heroes don't die, they get knocked out. Don't they? Heroes can only be KO'd, thanks to the Aurora Nornalis, unless the player chooses perma-death, like in #105. Or, in the speculative case of a quest that specifically will result in perma-death. (I used to have plans for such a quest, but they are currently off the table.)Heroes aren't made aware of this, since it would cause them to go into a frenzy, and potentially harm themselves. I wonder if as a Munchkin, Lind would be aware of this...Probably not - even assuming that "Munchkin ears are everywhere" - which they aren't - that's most likely too closely held a secret for them to know about. Sandy Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Heroes don't die, they get knocked out. Don't they? From the wiki: "Shortly before the start of the RPG, Heroica faced its greatest crisis yet: the murder of a Veteran and an infiltration by the brainwashed followers of the Dark Angel Lucifuge. Over the course of events that followed, many Heroes were killed, and almost all who still lived left Heroica forever. This soon led to the induction of a current Veteran, the Valkyrie, and the installation of several Aurora Nôrnalis, protective relics from the Nôrn, which give heroes nigh immortality by allowing them recover from wounds and diseases quickly, and making them lucky enough to escape from dire situations and perilous places against all odds. There has been some unfortunate exceptions to this, though." Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I think I just thought up an outline for a quest that explains the failures. Quote
Sandy Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 I think I just thought up an outline for a quest that explains the failures. I don't know about that... Sometimes a monster is just more powerful than the relics' powers. The relics cannot extend people's lives endlessly, either. Realistically speaking, the relics were invented to explain how heroes could be knocked out in battle against terrible enemies and fail quests, yet still escape with their lives in the end. Quote
Zepher Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I've had an idea for a villain who knows about the relic and captures a hero and mutilates them daily because they know they'll heal for a long time now. Just haven't had the chance to include them yet. Quote
