Speaking of items, I thought it was normal to have all unique artifacts and weapons checked with Sandy. Is it normal not to do it?

I think it depends. If it's a unique artifact/weapon with a more common effect (say, a shield that prevents blinded) probably doesn't need to be checked, but some mechanic-changing artifacts (equivalent to, say, the coat hanger) probably always need to be checked.

Michael Jackson does.

Aaaaaaaaaand stupid reference Pyro is back in action.

Not the Duck song, anything but the duck song.

I'm afraid I only know the Bonus duck song - oh, that Duck song :look: . Don't worry Asphalt, nobody has mentioned lemonade yet, we're safe  . For now.

Also, I believe I'm one of the only people who hasn't displayed his/her undying love for quest #130 yet. It's amazing.

Man, imagine if a gnome in Eubric invented popcorn or something like that... (avoids a warning about staying in topic)

I think that technological advancement would be more controversial than guns.

Um, excuse me, but how to pronounce .Gif is the controversial topic of choice around here

It's nif because it stands for gnome image formulethernator. #ontopic

Why's it always gotta be a gnome? Stereotypes can be so hurtful!

See, the gnome finally gets a little recognition!

With a large flourish, The Grey Foxer(Lind Whisperer)

You're dangerously close to making me quote mean girls and we both know I'm not going to say "On Wednesdays we wear the Grey Foxer"

Stop trying to make that nickname happen, its not going to happen.

"He doesn't even quest here."

Sarge saw a fervor burning in the Pharpharian man's eyes as he spoke to him.

"Oh, I know that. But Nephri can wait phor a while longer, I just have to get at least one win with these cards..."

Leviathan?! :excited:

(even though a game of cards has nothing to do with gluttony. I can still dream!)

The Bley Foxer can still happen though, right? Now that I think about it I'm gonna nickname Heckz "The Bley F****r" after making him a Harlot.

Unfortunately I've never seen the movie, so I don't get the joke.

I had just discovered Fitz Leiber when I started playing in #103. I think that explains the inspiration fully.

That's the point.

Lind, (the character), is trying to be a "big guy," and make a name for himself. And it's not going that well. (For a good example of the trope, see the "I'm...Star Lord." GotG scene.)

Funnily enough, I have never seen the movie either. However one learns these things when one has been memeing long enough :classic:

I thought the nickname was a reference to the Grey fox from the Elder Scrolls. I shall nonetheless check out Fitz Leiber, after Sir Pratchett's death I find myself quite short of fantasy literature.

That movie on the other hand I have seen, so fair play to you on that one

My posh Britishness is showing isn't it? I mean innit.

There's honestly nothing quite like Leiber's work out there - although some surprising (and positive) similarities can be drawn between Lankhmar and Eubric. Really good stuff. I'd suggest you start out with either The Cloud of Hate, or Lean Nights in Lanhkmar - they encompass the style of the series as a whole.

I think Sir Pratchett actually included a couple of characters based on the Mouser and Fafherd - I believe they were called The Weasel and Bothered, or something like that. I really must check out his work someday...

Well, to be fully honest, for a while it was more Lind the player. But after a few months, the newbie urge to be "The most awesome person in the (Heroica) universe," wore off, and and I learned to settle down and enjoy the game as a game, not as a race/challenge. (Although I'm still working on balancing between RP and acting. It's a constant learning experience. )

But wasn't Leviathan the Arch-demon of sloth, not gluttony-that was mephisto if I remember

Maybe 2 months has drained me of some of my Heroica knowledge. :look::tongue:

See, when I think Leviathans, I think sea monster, such as the one we summoned in quest... 43? (The second darkstar quest.)

 Funny, the reason I know that is because Quest 114 was supposed to be the The Tale of the Leviathan (in which the heroes ended up killing the very same monster) but Sandy mentioned it had already been established as an archdemon.

See, I thought Ahrahmin was Sloth (because his thing was "stand on a pyramid and drink booze with my three smaller eyeball bros"), but now I think he was Envy, no?

Lelz, you are right. No archdemon boss fight for us, then. :cry2:

You know, if something happens to Grimwald on 127, that would make every single character involved with 99 either dead or retired... :look:
