Dannylonglegs Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 My own group meets on Tuesday night, but they're the most unproductive imbeciles I know Maybe that has something to do with my use of Hypnotic pattern, Intimidation, persuasion and deception to get them to do what I want... Nah Nonetheless I'm quite busy over the next 3 weeks so I could join late if you want. On topic, my experiences with D&D have made me truly appreciate how much more simple Heroica is. Thank you Sandy. Yeah, I think my group only has like 3 competent members/characters. That's usually how it is though. Yes, agreed 10fold. Heroica is such a marvelous game system! You could sell this, Sandy! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
LordoftheNoobs Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 It's like Pokémon meets D&D meets originality. Quote
Sandy Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Yes, agreed 10fold. Heroica is such a marvelous game system! You could sell this, Sandy! Sell it to who? HRPG is a forum-based game, I don't have any clue how it would work in real life as a tabletop rpg... Somebody should test it out. Quote

K-Nut Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I know WBD was planning to test it out at some point, but I don't think he ever got around to doing it. I thought there were plans to run it at Brickworld this year Quote
Kintobor Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I think the only problem running tabletop Heroica would be the battle system. It's excellent for forums, but in real life it might be a little iffy. Not bad, but I still think there's some tweaking to the system that needs to be done to streamline the combat. Quote
Endgame Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Minor suggestion for the Fields of Glory: Maybe a service before the heroes et out, where they can pay a fine to show where the Wandering Monster lurks? (And if it moves, pay more to show it's movement?) Quote
K-Nut Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I think saying the general vicinity of the monster like they've been doing works out just fine. Quote

I imagine it would play like it does in the forums...just faster since all your players would be there at the time so you don't have to wait for them to log in to reply. I've recommended the rules to friends who were looking for a rule system to start their kids off on RPGs (not that adults looking for a more relaxed RPG wouldn't enjoy it too). Then between games the kids can recreate scenes with their Lego. Quote
Palathadric Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 And we barely start talking about making money off the idea, and then we find out that somebody has already ripped us off! Quote

Couldn't you use a Magic Compass paired with a telescope? The compass would point you the right direction, and you could in theory scan the horizon for the monsters as I assume you could see at least majority of the sectors (flat fields, riverbed, etc). Obviously the mountains would block view... Might require some QM moderation/tweaking, but that might be the best option IMO. Quote
Endgame Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Any have any plans for Moone? I may do my next quest there. What is known about it is that it is the borthern tip of what got sunk of the rest of Moone, and that elves are a majority there, correct? Quote

No plans for Moone, and the kingdom hasn't been featured much in past quests. Elves are not necessarily a majority there, but most of the remaining Moon Elves reside there. Quote
Endgame Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 (edited) I just noticed Q16 took place there! I'll have to give that a quick reading... Edited May 28, 2015 by Endgame Quote
Yzalirk Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 For any of you who are interested in a Dwarven language translator, I found this site which has the best guide for a Dwarven language that I've seen. I'll definitely be using that for sure. Quote
JimBee Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I'm just having a grand old time in 129 making a 20-turn battle order. I'm sure Pie likes running those rounds too. But seriously, this battle is great. 129 has been really fun so far. Quote
CMP Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I'm just having a grand old time in 129 making a 20-turn battle order. I'm sure Pie likes running those rounds too. I ran much of Baltarok's final battle. Pretty much every battle I run these days I can look at and go "this could be worse." I'd say we're 2/3 to 3/4 of the way done now. We should hit the 3 month mark I predicted quite nicely. Which is a first. Quote
