Flipz Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I had it that way originally and thought it a bit OP for a low level quest. It's not, especially since it's a end-of-Quest reward. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 "I'm afraid there is not much to know of what lurks behind the mask. Perhaps unmasking wouldn't be a bad idea. It's making drinking a pain." Vindsval realizes that Sandman had amassed two more glasses since he had began talking to him. "I've lived in Moone for about four months. I know the lay of the land well enough, as well as some contacts in it. The main attractions are Mermont, the capital city, the various cathedrals devoted to Ennoc, and Faust's castle. I know at the very least that Vorpalis is currently controlling Mermont and the palace. As for the fog covering the kingdom... You don't want to be outsdide when it's being laid down. You will choke, collapse, and likely be mugged by bandits and marauders. Very unpleasant. Faust is a moon elf, a nearly extinct breed." Darn, so much potentially useful information, and Lind's sound asleep for all of it... Quote
Endgame Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Darn, so much potentially useful information, and Lind's sound asleep for all of it... Maybe he had too many Moonshine Gumballs. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Sandman removes his helmet. "Like I said. Not much to hide." I'm so confused. Quote
Endgame Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I'm so confused. Clone. Definitely a clone. Maybe a clone. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) Maybe he had too many Moonshine Gumballs. Maybe. I'm so confused. I'm more confused as to his race - I thought Moone was mostly Moon Elves*?*Hey, it's Lind that claims to know everything as per Munchkin Knowledge. Not Moi. Endgame Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Maybe. I'm more confused as to his race - I thought Moone was mostly Moon Elves*? *Hey, it's Lind that claims to know everything as per Munchkin Knowledge. Not Moi. Nope, they're a minority - nearly extinct, in fact. Quote
Zepher Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I'm so confused. My main confusion is why he drinks liquor if it has no affect on him. Quote
CMP Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 My main confusion is why he drinks liquor if it has no affect on him. And why this NPC non-hero gets to drink for free just because he's in the hall. And why the king of an entire country has time to sail across the sea to visit Heroica for no reason and then sail all the way back. Quote
Zepher Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 And why the king of an entire country has time to sail across the sea to visit Heroica for no reason and then sail all the way back. I actually laughed out loud. Quote
JimBee Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Nope, they're a minority - nearly extinct, in fact. I didn't realize that this particular fact was true, but I guess it makes sense with Mercution being sunk and all. Is there somewhere where this was mentioned in story? Quote
CMP Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I didn't realize that this particular fact was true, but I guess it makes sense with Mercution being sunk and all. Is there somewhere where this was mentioned in story? Quest #66. The first appearance of a Moon Elf I think, being the ambassador of the race. I think he mentions their numbers being super low these days. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 And why this NPC non-hero gets to drink for free just because he's in the hall. That's actually a really good question. And why the king of an entire country has time to sail across the sea to visit Heroica for no reason and then sail all the way back. Probably our booming tourist trade. I hear the Hovels are lovely this time of year. There's some lovely muck, over here... Quote
JimBee Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Quest #66. The first appearance of a Moon Elf I think, being the ambassador of the race. I think he mentions their numbers being super low these days. Oh yeah! Found it: "Ah, I'm enchanted to meet such an educated young lady! Ambassador Luneth, at your service. Alas, the story of Mercution is a sad one. The Free Islands and Moone are the only pieces of land left from the once great kingdom. We Moon Elves were a proud people, and where pride resides, there demons get a foothold. The Cult of Azazot swept across the realm, possessing the minds of the high and mighty, down to the last king of Mercution. A great war erupted between the kingdoms of the Moon and the Sun - Mercution and Ennon. Ultimately the Ennonian Wizard Priests saw no other option than to sink their adversaries under the waves of the Crystalline Sea. But this was all a millennia ago... There is only a handful of us Moon Elves left, clinging to the memory of our lost splendour. Ah, but I must apologize for burdening you with such a sad story on this night of celebration, Miss Nyx. I hope you can forgive an old fool such as me?" Quote
Endgame Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) 1. Sandman is also a chronic drug abuser, but once again, it has no outward effect on him. There's something very very wrong with him you will learn soon. 2. He'll pay his tab. 3. Who said he was going back to Moone? He didn't visit Eubric, he's fled here. He's currently in a cheap motel, probably wondering when he'll get his castle and kingdom back from an ancient dragon. Edited July 1, 2015 by Endgame Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 ...Just so we're all clear, is there some hidden reason why Flint Marko and Masson arre identical, or is it just because that's your standard NPC head design? Quote

Endgame Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I'm actually more inclined to believe Guts was cloned as part of a secret government initiative. Heroica's is Solid Guts, naturally. Great, now I wanna see that... Scuba, you intereseted in co-hosting it with me? Guts? Guts?! GUUUUUUUUUUUTS! Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 And welcome to Heroica's newest Hero! I take it from the dialogue "Jinnipher" was part of the original Heroica Mafia game? I'm actually more inclined to believe Guts was cloned as part of a secret government initiative. Heroica's is Solid Guts, naturally. Great, now I wanna see that... Scuba, you intereseted in co-hosting it with me? Guts? Guts?! GUUUUUUUUUUUTS! You know, I actually could feature that as part of that chain of quests I really need to start hosting again one of these days... Quote
CMP Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 And welcome to Heroica's newest Hero! I take it from the dialogue "Jinnipher" was part of the original Heroica Mafia game? Yep. Glad to see you bringing back a C.A.T character, JimBee. Quote
