Endgame Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I'm interested in this too... I was half-planning on Lind accidentally dropping some gold outside the Hall, which Character II would find... You're not even close to the requirements for a second PC, though, are you? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Can I loan/give/trade items between my 2 PCs? While there's no rule against it (and I don't think there should be) it might be considered "bad form" by other players if you're giving all your extra gold to your second character so they can advance more quickly. The possibility then exists for unbalanced parties where in one player is loaded to the gills with equipment and consumables because they're a second character, and the other is still scraping by because it's the player's first character. Agreed. I was planning on it only being about 50 gold or so - just enough to get a 5 WP weapon. And only the one time. Not a repeated thing. Quote
Endgame Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 No, but I tend to plan things out way too far in advance... Pro-tip: Don't. Quote
JimBee Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Gah, so many posts all at once. I'm glad I prepared some of them ahead of time. I'm short on time today, so I'll post in the Hall and then 139 later tonight/early tomorrow. Thanks for having me, Zeph! Quote
CMP Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Glad to see the Marauder class is already being picked up. Quote
Zepher Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 No worries JimBee! I think it'd be fun if the heroes sort of walked in one at a time - it the reason I wrote that intro the way I did, so we'd get to start role playing but people could still finish up business - I know you just got done with a quest! Palathadric Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Glad to see the Marauder class is already being picked up. And now its our turn. When is your next Marauder-offering quest? Quote

Or there can be a second character that is stronger than many first characters before it even has a picture. Quote
K-Nut Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Or there can be a second character that is stronger than many first characters before it even has a picture. Very true. Once I get my second character posted, I'll definitely be doing some exchanging of items, but I still want them to be their own characters. If one of them finds a really nice piece of equipment that I can use for the other, then I'll definitely have them trade. I'll probably hand off my Medal of Glory at some point too, just so I can get some use out of it. Quote
Endgame Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Just a bitter QM speaking, but the Medal of Glory is the worst item in the game. Quote
K-Nut Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Just a bitter QM speaking, but the Medal of Glory is the worst item in the game. The worst item that hasn't been banned yet for sure. When in the "right" hands, I can see just how awful Overkill Gloves can be. Quote
Endgame Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 The worst item that hasn't been banned yet for sure. When in the "right" hands, I can see just how awful Overkill Gloves can be. Skrall, for example... But at least they don't fully break the game progression, dammit! And besides, in 13 quests, i think only 1 OP drop is okay. Quote
Palathadric Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Seeing others switch classes so easily, I'm wondering if an original cleric's options really are limited or if I've just had such a cleric-centric build that doing anything remotely different would require a complete switch in weaponry? Quote
K-Nut Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Skrall, for example... I really wanted to see what Althior could've done with those on the last fields run when he was dealing 4000ish damage regularly to monsters with 100 HP. Quote

Nerwen has been Cleric > Shaman > Paladin > Minstrel. The minstrel required significant retooling weapon wise and a big drop in hitting power. But that's not what minstrel is for, so it was ok. She'll go to high cleric next, (assuming this quest succeeds!) Quote
Scubacarrot Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Seeing others switch classes so easily, I'm wondering if an original cleric's options really are limited or if I've just had such a cleric-centric build that doing anything remotely different would require a complete switch in weaponry? Some expert classes have a very particular set of weapons they can use, Dragoons, Harlots and of course Cannoneers and Minstrels for example, and others have sets of weapons that gel better with certain classes like Ranger, Barbarian and Rogue for Beast warrior. Then of course there is the Chi-Monk which makes the whole weapon discussion moot. Of course there are some weapon types that are just more used by classes, like daggers, which can be used by the most classes, probably. Using a versatile weapon like a dagger does it make it much easier to change classes, and that doesn't seem fair, but which weapons a class can use is entirely based on flavour, so there's inconsistency. The same inconsistency also exist with what weapons are dropped. If I were to guess I'd say that the amount of Longswords and Staves is disproportionally big compared to how much classes they can be used by. Your main weapon seems to be broomsticks, Necromancer and Artisan (as well as weather mages) use them from the expert classes. Something you can always try if you want a change is considering going back to advanced classes, or going sharp for the Veteran job class Quote
Flipz Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I find it interesting some of the details I've accidentally picked up from other players. For example, in looking back I realized that I unconsciously copied Torc's interest in other Dragons to Miirym--and both had their interest triggered by a lack of response from Arx. (inb4 "Arx gets all the ladies" ) Quote
Endgame Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Despite my plotline revolving around them, I never put much thought into regional differences in dragons. Lethauros and Vorpalis are Dastanian... I think? I was kinda under the assumption they lived so long and travelled so much they were a jack of all trades, especially because of how different they look comapred to other dragons. Quote

With the horns, Vorpalis looks like how I was envisioning Sundragons to look - normal, but with a head vaguely shaped like a gazelle skull(E.g., normal dragon skull, but with two quite prominent horns in the back.).Maybe he has some Sundragon in him? Maybe he has some Sundragon in him? It might be the opposite - Lethauros was incredibly old (They're called Ancestral for a reason), and Vorpalis is older by a decent margin. The Sundragons may have some Vorpalis in them. Edited July 23, 2015 by Endgame Quote

JimBee Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Now we have to get Hybros, Boomingham and Em on a quest. I'm all for it because you guys are great, but any particular reason for saying this? Quote
Zepher Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 They're two of Boomingham two most trusted friends, and now they seem to be looking after each other as well. Quote
Emjajoas Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) Now we have to get Hybros, Boomingham and Em on a quest. Name a time and place and I'll be there, that sounds like a great time. They're two of Boomingham two most trusted friends, and now they seem to be looking after each other as well. Yeah, we've quested together a few times and Em's come to see Hybros as a good friend, too. Edited July 23, 2015 by Emjajoas Quote
