Yzalirk Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Welcome aboard, Alfadas! It's nice to see another GoH face in here! If you want to touch up on various things such as certain plots, races, enemies, and so on, the Wiki is a nice place to look. Just like the others have said, read the Rules & FAQ. Be sure to visit the Marketplace every so often because there are items that go out of stock. Apart from that, just kick back and wait in the Hall and sign up for available quests. Quote
Alfadas Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Im reading a few of the quests now, and I'm (im)patiently waiting for epic quests. Quote
Alfadas Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 My personal reccomendation is Q66. Will definitely read it! Quote
K-Nut Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Q66 and Q100 are the most important to the main story, IMO. Quote
Alfadas Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Both quests from the Wolfgang arc, happy coincidence or...? Quote
Endgame Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Nope, those are essentially the main story. If you want to binge, go into the index, pick a QM you like, go down the list, and read their quests. 66 and 100 are great starting points, though. Quote
Khorne Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 If you want to read a totally non-sensical Quest, I suggest Quest #42 . It's so random at times! I just love it . Quote
Alfadas Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Okay... Guess I'll be reading quests for the next couple of hours Great fun so far Quote
Sandy Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 A hearty welcome to the game, Alfadas! Hope you enjoy it enough to stick around for upcoming quests since there isn't one readily available to you, unfortunately. If you want to read a totally non-sensical Quest, I suggest Quest #42 . It's so random at times! I just love it . I remember that quest from the fact it took a week just to travel from one place to another within the vicinity of Shelbric, while the whole island of Uland is only a few days' journey from one end to another. Waterbrick Down Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Okay... Guess I'll be reading quests for the next couple of hours Great fun so far If you want a good break down of stories and styles by QM here you go: Sandy: Main plot line of Heroica, great photography. Unique battles and amazing loot. Generally good examples of giving characters choices CallMePie: Good stories concerning side plots, i.e. Cold Circle, Crimson Crown, some of the less featured Eubric Houses. Great NPC's Zepher: Long multi quest plots. Story and NPC heavy, but memorable. Great job of incorporating tons of locations and characters into multiple quests Endgame: Long over arching plots dealing with Proggs, Occuloids, and a variety of other side plots, sort of have their own mythos. Complex and strategy heavy battles. Brickdoctor: Some of the best photography in the game. Great job of introducing and pioneering new mechanics. Kintober: Excellent blend of stories and character interactions, good NPC's and generally zany plots. Waterbrick Down: Generally smaller scale stories dealing with everyday life in the world. Emphasis on puzzles/mysteries and NPC's. There's a whole lot of other QM's who've run one or two quests that are also worth checking out, but these are the one's you'll see a lot from. The one great thing about Heroica RPG is the openness to world creation to the entire community. Granted you generally want to work with the community to develop histories, races, plots etc. as opposed to trying to create something all on your own in your own corner, but the fact that multiple people have created new races, game mechanics, loot, character classes, and entire locations allows for the world and the community itself to keep growing in a natural and inspiring fashion. Lind Whisperer Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Welcome to the game, Alfadas! Always nice to see new faces! And WBD once more sums it up. Alfadas Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Thanks for the additional info! A hearty welcome to the game, Alfadas! Hope you enjoy it enough to stick around for upcoming quests since there isn't one readily available to you, unfortunately. Don't worry, I'll stick with you. Always loved RPG and don't have a clue on why I didn't join this earlier. I plan to stay. Quote

Palathadric Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Happy Anniversary Heroica!!!!! Can't wait to choose side! Hey, hey! Look who's back. And I think Sandy just archived Alexander. Quote
Sandy Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 Hey, hey! Look who's back. And I think Sandy just archived Alexander. Hahaha, I knew that once I archived people, they'd all come flocking back. Quote
Kintobor Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) "NooooOOOOO!!!" Syrma had not made it in time. Kintobor Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) I really saw that picture differently, as if Zaniah was pinned against the wall. Now I see the corpse. Although, there's no excuse for the name confusion. Edited August 4, 2015 by Kintobor Quote
K-Nut Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Sandy's characters have great, but still confusion names. Don't ask me how many times I've almost written Hymnessamine instead of Mnemosyne the Tower Keeper. God I'm a Heroica nerd. Quote
Endgame Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 What would've happend if the Titan hadn't been taken out last? "This colossal rock monster stood perfectly still til' the battle ended, then it face planted and killed someone's fiance." Quote

"This colossal rock monster stood perfectly still til' the battle ended, then it face planted and killed someone's fiance." Too bad Pretzel doesn't have the staff that saved Zaniah anymore. That thing works wonders! And if she wasn't already pissed at Johon... Quote

Flipz Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Dangit, Zeph, if I had to keep that blasted accent up so much in 104, I'm going to make you do it now. Also, gods I miss Diana. I need to get back to work on that pair of Quests again so they're both ready before year's end. Quote
