Sandy Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Concerning the first post, in the Hero's Gallery, I'm named Warueld, but it is Waruelf... No big deal, just saying Alfadas, I apologize for the typo and will fix it right away, but in the future, please do not make out-of-character posts like this in the Heroica Hall topic, but direct them here. In the Hall as well as during quests, you are supposed to roleplay as your character. You can make short remarks out-of-character, but they should be clearly marked to separate them from what your character is saying and doing. You'll get the hang of it, I'm sure! Quote
Alfadas Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Oops, sorry... Won't happen again. But thanks Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 "He built his kingdom on lies, silly, and made his own race first class! Would you let someone so prone to deception be king?" And it was only then, that the rogue, who prided himself on noticing anything worthy of loot, and had even named his player race Munchkin, realized that the yellow ones in the crowd were humans, not Moone Elves...    Quote
Endgame Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Moone Elves are a very very small population. Quote
Flipz Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 It's actually a bit daunting how long ago the original Dastan Trilogy was. I'm looking back at the dates and being all, "oh, it was three years ago. Wait, THREE YEARS?!" Quest 17 feels like it was that long ago--Dastan, not so much, perhaps because of how much it spilled over, how much it affected (and still affects!) many storylines and characters who came into contact with it. I'm also stunned by how long it ran. Quest 30 ran from April until August--if I recall correctly, it's still among the longest Quests both time- and post-wise in Heroica. Even as I start to worry about how long Quests in general seem to be getting (particularly as I'm planning some of my own, making them too big is a serious design concern of mine ), it's nice to be reminded that even back then we still managed to have ultra-long Quests that managed to engage and entertain the whole way through. It's definitely reassuring to me, that's for sure! Quote
Endgame Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Protip, if you want to compress a three to four month quest into two, host in the summer. Looking at you, 138. Quote
Kintobor Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 The party skulks through the fog, and, following Rydel's instructions, make their way to the Gibbous Inn, a safehaven from Vorpalis and his forces. They step inside, the innkeeper there to greet them. If I dominate the inn, do I get a hat? Quote
Endgame Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) It's another reference to the moon/space. Look it up. I'm curious to see how many space jokes people have caught, or the incredibly subtle pun 404 is part of. Edited August 5, 2015 by Endgame Quote

Endgame Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 404 is the room number Rydel stated to gain access to the safehaven/hideaway, despite there not being a fourth floor to the inn. It's really stupid, and highlight below if you want to see the very obtuse joke. 404 is typically associated with the computer error "404-PNF", or "404 Page Not Found." In this case, it's "404 Party Not Found". Quote

The latter started almost 3 years ago (Special emphasis on "started" ) Quote
Endgame Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 48 is one of those quests where, the more I read it, the less pleased I am with it. Same with pretty much all of the Progg Quests, actually. Quote

UsernameMDM Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Welcome to the game MM. Fixed your stats for you. Can't have an elemental weapon until you can merge gems to your weapon, which can be done when you have gems and gold. Check the Marketplace thread for those rules. Plus you wouldn't be able to use spells without a gem. Lind Whisperer Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Signing up for quest #1. Mystic, you can only sign up for quests that are currently available. Quest 1# ended over three years ago. Currently, the only quest that is available is the Fields of Glory. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 That's correct, and thanks, but it's a private site. I'd direct them over here, but Heroica has a tendency to be on the...more grown-up side of things, occasionally. (See ending of #122 for a prime example.) I'm in the younger half of people over here, and in the older half of people over there. You obviously missed Quest 12 with Haldor jumping into a bush with a gnome. Ah the good ol' times. Quote

Flipz Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Eurobricks is an adult site. It's literally in the rules that you're supposed to be 18+ to join. That's naturally going to lead to content creators (and thus content) that explores adult themes. Personally, I think the game is better for it. It adds an honesty to the world that can sometimes be lacking in more heavily censored RPG groups, and it alows for the exploration of some stories and concepts that would otherwise be much more difficult to present in a non-mature context. Yzalirk Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I agree. The situations could be much much worse that I probably don't need to explain. Quote

I wasn't criticizing its presence - I was merely asking if I could borrow/mod the system, and explaining one of the reasons why I wasn't simply suggesting they join this game. Quote
Alfadas Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Currently, the only quest that is available is the Fields of Glory. Sandy said to me that there weren't any quests I could sign up for. But I'd love to sign up for the Fields of Glory, assuming that's possible. Quote

The Fields of Glory aren't really designed for new heroes, but Advanced Classes and up (which you get access to once you reach level 15). A quest should come along soon, and I do know someone is working on a quest as we speak, and it should be up soon. Quote
