Endgame Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) That's my line of thinking, but wyverns are typically depicted as almost chicken-like in their build. Smaug had the body of a wyvern but his proportions were more akin to the traditional European dragon. . Come on you amateurs, it's like none of you have ever seen a real dragon before... At least it's not as bad as Monster Hunter, where Kirin is considered an Elder Dragon. Edited August 14, 2015 by Endgame Quote
Flipz Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Come on you amateurs, it's like none of you have ever seen a real dragon before... I think Starscream ruined the trope for everyone, no one seems to know what a proper The Dragon is like any-- *muffled whispering* Ohh...ohh, we're still on literal dragons. Right, right. One thing I want to explore when I send a party to Charis is the cultural differences between Dastanian and Charisian dragons. To my mind, all Charisian dragons have some wyvern blood in them, which is why they grow quickly and have elemental affinities rather than the powerful spiritual abilities demonstrated by Vipera and other pure-blooded Dastanian dragons. Don't know if I'll be able to work it in directly (I've already got two sub-plots that for the sake of player sanity are only briefly touched upon as sequel hooks rather than full sidequests), but at the very least I can include it as a background info. By the way, Zeph, I'm really interested to see what you have worked up for the Dragons of Xu, how their species have adapted since migrating from Dastan. Quote
K-Nut Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Has that ever worked out well for him? No. No it hasn't. Quote

Endgame Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Is that an option/possibility? Get some Z-Mail and try it? He's appearing in my next/probably my last quest, I can tell you that. Day Of Judgment Edited August 14, 2015 by Endgame Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Vorpalis Crown: A black crown carrying the power of Vorpalis. Look upon your subjects and rule them with an iron fist; Look upon your enemies and reduce them to nothing. SP: 4, the wearer has a 1/3 chance of dealing Weakened to the targeted enemy on successful hits. Headwear, suitable for anyone. Vorpalis Netherwings: Dark, clawed wings that spread over a myriad cities, covering them in a black fog. Wear them, and carry on the dragon's legacy of conquest. SP: 4, the wearer deals double damage to humanoid type enemies and takes half damage from Holy/Light enemies. Backwear, suitable for anyone. The Netherwings are probably the better drop, but I just can't see Lind wearing armor with a large pair of wings on it... Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Wings are cool though. True...and they'd be cheaper than the $60 it'd take for the crown...but the crown would be cool and imposing, which would work if I go Black Knight again... Decisions, decisions... Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 How did I miss double damage to humanoids? :gun: Oh well, cursed defence is bloody awesome too. Quote
K-Nut Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 It is. You don't see that immunity dropped all that often. Quote
Endgame Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 It is. You don't see that immunity dropped all that often. It's not so much immunity to cursed as it is becoming a walking harbinger of it. Quote
Flipz Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Eh, decent items for sure, but none of them really fit my build anyway, so I'll join the "meh" crowd. As far as the talisman goes, is that a 1/3 roll every Round to revive the wearer, or just a 1/3 chance when you're actually KO'd? Either way, the balancing of draining the wearer's Ether only works on Ether-users, JSYK. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Eh, I'm going with the Netherwings. The double damage to humanoids is definitely preferable to weakened, and very much overall better than 1/6 chance of Free Hit evasion. It builds onto my build better, too. If whoever gets the Crown ever wants to sell, and I have the gold, don't hesitate to let me know, though... How did I miss double damage to humanoids? :gun: Oh well, cursed defence is bloody awesome too. Cursed was sweet, but I'm not giving up my Invader Armor. You save a lot on Meads with it, and taking damage is actually a good thing. Quote

I want to keep them pretty all-purpose so they fit into all builds. Those Conquerors are totally OP in any battle with 6+ enemies, by the way. Edited August 15, 2015 by Endgame Quote

Sooner than later, I hope," Working on it! I have all but three photos already taken, we're just waiting on Windows 10 to stop screwing with Sandy's computer. Same with the purgers - battles just don't last long enough for enough Damage to be taken... Umm...what Heroica universe are you playing in? Battles have been tending to get longer and longer for years, and only recently have we QMs managed to get the trend to move toward more reasonable time-spans. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Methinks my build is leaning towards "hit me and I'll kill you!" Mystic knight, so 1/6 chance of no damage AND I can use a shield. If I get the armour, I'll be cursing anyone who touches me. I can use my staff to regain my HP. A pair of counterstrike gloves could be used for more damage still. And my Scroll of Antimagic gives just that extra bit of power if I get hit. Y'know, that talisman works well with my build. I'll buy it off whoever gets it! Or put in a request! Or both! Quote

Battles have been tending to get longer and longer for years, and only recently have we QMs managed to get the trend to move toward more reasonable time-spans. Sandy Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 I haven't gotten my computer out of the maintenance yet, so I'm borrowing a friend's computer for the time being. All my files are on my computer, though, so I can't do much... Hopefully I'll get it back on Monday. Quote
