Yzalirk Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Any idea as to level, or will it be for newbies? Mainly for the newer guys since I don't want to be overwhelmed with math on my first quest. Quote
Enceladus Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 And clerics seem to go paladin or druid. we need more variety. Personally I don't really see the appeal. They're both good classes for tanking and healing respectively, but I plan to take Na'im down the shaman route (partly for RP reasons) but also because it's a good all round class. They have decent health (+9 on top of base health) and can deal good damage too (their critical hits are like 3x their wp if I remember and added to their level) and on top of that they can also heal and have special gaurd-what's not to like? It also helps that they're not affected as much by the reworkings of the ether system I'd also like to see people being bolder in terms of their advanced class choices instead of picking the cliché advanced classes Quote
Dragonfire Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Well I'm probably going to go Raider when I hit Level 15 Quote

Flipz Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Lind is a character I'd love to quest with partly because of the #100 style arguing that would entail Speaking as an observer, it's not fun to read. Conflict between Heroes is great; constant, near-100% bickering gets tiring fast and really kills my investment in the Quest I'm reading. As well laid-out as the plot of 138 was, I probably wouldn't have bothered with it if I hadn't had my deal with Warlen to think about; the really interesting interactions (Karie with Warlen, Jinnipher with the NPCs/environment) got steamrollered into oblivion by all the fighting, at least until the end. The same sort of held true for 100 as well; it wasn't until the party was split (during the mutants section and then post-Vega) that things really got interesting to see. Actually, if you want an example of contrarian behavior done well, Endgame's Lethauros Quest (sorry, on mobile, so I can't look up the number) showed a really awesome side of Throlar; grumpy and uncooperative, but not to the point of spotlight stealing or breaking the flow. It's probably the best we've seen of Throlar, and we learned a lot about both him and the rest of the party because an ideal balance was struck. Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Apologies for being rather untactful there, I didn't intend to glorify a lack of cooperation. However the occasional reparté is always satisfying I find A lack of tension between characters can perhaps become somewhat monotonous. However you're quite correct in that total attrition is not exactly droll. Oh yes, and I've rather forgotten to catch up on the quests from my hiatus between #100 and #130, does anybody have any recommendations? Quote
K-Nut Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I agree 100% Flipz. Having that much bickering within the party just steamrolls the whole quest. And as a player, I find it very stressful. Like you said, I personally didn't find Quest #100 to be any fun at all until Throlar left, just because it meant we could actually pay attention to the NPCs and the story of the quest and not one stubborn PC. I didn't even bother reading #138 after I saw the steam rolling at the beginning; same with #122. Apologies for being rather untactful there, I didn't intend to glorify a lack of cooperation. However the occasional reparté is always satisfying I find A lack of tension between characters can perhaps become somewhat monotonous. However you're quite correct in that total attrition is not exactly droll. I completely agree. There was a point at the end of #100 when you, me, and Khorne were all up in the tower and bickering. Parts like that is what I find satisfying; because it's not endless bickering. As much as I'd have loved to argue with you guys at that point, I saw the parties interests laid elsewhere than mine, so I let it go. It's just that in the same quest, Throlar's bickering never, ever, ever, ended. Oh yes, and I've rather forgotten to catch up on the quests from my hiatus between #100 and #130, does anybody have any recommendations? The Sandy Quests and the Halloween Anthology are great reads. Kintobor Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) Kintobor? Are you alive? Nope. I'm a ghost. Updates coming shortly. I was visiting a friend the other day and didn't have a lot of time to update. My apologies for not letting people know in advanced.. Edited August 16, 2015 by Kintobor Quote

Yzalirk Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Sandy's on! Can't wait to see what you get from the lottery, eh? Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Can't wait to see what you get from the lottery, eh? I'm just excited for the results to finally be revealed, no matter if I win or lose. (I'm also hoping we might get some news on the upcoming Clash of Houses...?) Quote

Flipz Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Blah, still wall-of-text-y. I guess I'll get better at short summaries over time, I suppose. In other news... Quote

Flipz Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I have to admit, a part of me wants to go the whole "nepotism" route with the raffle (i.e. Noel sneaks in an entry for Arthur), but dangit I had him leave Heroica for a reason, and even if Arthur wanted to rejoin permanently, he technically won't have the chance until after he returns to Eubric. Flipz Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 People still have families and work in Heroica, you know. True, but to Arthur's mind this would be like Karie taking her and Masson's baby on missions with her. The only reason he approached Guffington about this Quest was because of the chance to take Miirym to Dastan to learn about her heritage, and to Xu to revisit the nation they helped. Now, once he hits Level 40 and Miirym ages up, it'll be a different story (I am trying to roleplay Miirym as being very close to her new size category as she's growing naturally), but obviously Arthur doesn't know when Miirym will manifest her elemental ability and thus be considered a youngling instead of a hatchling (and even then he'll still be protective).
