Flipz Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Realistically, the positive effects are something that should be out of the ordinary, you use them in dire circumstances. If everyone has positive effects it just becomes the new normal and they won't have that much of an impact. "And when everyone's super...*evil chuckle* no one will be." To add to WBD's suggestion pile, though, Berserker has a SHIELD-skill that Encourages the entire party when used (or turns into a kickass attack if the party's already Encouraged). As a Barbarian, you do have access to the class, though it is limited in terms of strategy. Quote
Dragonfire Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Yeah, I was considering going Berserker when I hit Level 15, but I decided against it cause of the "must target the same enemy each round" thing. Kinda takes the fun out of battles. Quote
Mencot Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Yes beserker has that and it has it benefits but in a RP aspect Keliim won´t go down that path because he is trying to get away from the pschyo/rage spread. That is why I am gonna choose Hunter when Keliim hit lvl 15. Quote
Sandy Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 An update about the upcoming event: if I get my own computer out of maintenance tomorrow or Thursday, I can launch it then, but if I don't, you will have to wait until I get back from my trip (on the 17th of September). Sorry for the inconvenience, but this situation is out of my hands. Quote

Pyrovisionary Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) The level of Computing incompetence I'm imagining from the repair place is the IT crowd. Looking forward to the new event and more updates to #130 and #135 though Edited September 1, 2015 by Pyrovisionary Quote
Endgame Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Taking a disucssion back here instead of the Henrys topic, because it was drifting away from the Henrys... Warlen mentioned before 138 that he had slain a good number of dragons, but there was one that got away - and that a dark dragon killed his friend. Guess who. Much like Rhodus in 48, I don't mind heroes incorporating my villains into their backstory - it can result in some good RP. That, and I think there's something darkly comical about Warlen and Quarion trying to ambush Vorpalis when he was vistting his grandchildren and they got their butts handed to them. Quote

If you're going to do this, either bring it up before hand, like Warlen did, or talk with the QM, but yes, this kind of stuff is good, and as QMs, we should pay attention to this stuff! Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Obsession happens in real life! I like it! If Lind wants to think of it as love, that will make it all the more real. Also, I'm seriously thinking I need to change my username already. When it gets to the point where you're wondering which Lind they're talking about...You need to change it. Quote
Zepher Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 139 - deeply sorry, have had lots of short breaks of time but not an hour yet to run the battle. Will try to get to it this evening before I fall asleep. Quote

I really like that there's some duality and some depth behind Warlen's silliness. Heckz did this too, to an extent, but his comedy comes from a very different place--he's funny in the Seinfeld "what a horrible person" sense, whereas Warlen's funny in the "what a silly dork" sense. There's a line in 104 that I think a lot of people glossed over in all the craziness that went down () : Warlen walked off and whispered to himself: "It's kept the darkness at bay, and it's gonna stay that way." I think that and the whole slapping scene a little bit before were where it first clicked for me that there was way more to Warlen than even I had suspected, and TCM has only gotten better and better at developing that dynamic over time. Kintobor Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Just an FYI, I'm going to be busy these next few days getting ready for a convention, so my posting may be sporadic at best. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Thanks guys! To be honest, when I started with Warlen, I had a grand total of no plan. As time went on, I started planning ahead, both in RP and with my gear, but it didn't really have much of a direction. Then, Vorpalis, and boom. Although, credit to Endgame, I was just going to have it be that he looked similar or some-such, but when he suggested it, I knew what I wanted to do with him. Now, I've got a vague outline for the future, but I'm mostly back to square one. And the way Warlen has grown is mostly down to you other players interacting with me, so thanks for that, fellow players. In other news, what do you guys think? Should my Letter of Recommendation go to the Ji Pei, opening up Chi Monk, the Shadeaux, opening up Dragoon, or to the Ziegfrieds, starting my path to Necromancer. I do have an opinion myself, I just wanted to see what others think. Quote

They're harder to take down than they seem and are best suited to Mage and Cleric base classes, and have some cool skills to boot. Mystic Knight->Dragoon is what Hoke did to get a high defense. Necromancer would also be good if you could find a good suitable weapon to upgrade with MK for it. If the Critical Hit roll isn't changed a high WP is essential for Necro. I think Chi Monk would be the best build-wise for Warlen because you'll be taking and giving a lot of damage, which is perfect for that Vorpalis gear. Quote

I do have an opinion myself, I just wanted to see what others think. From what I've seen, I'd vote either Ziegfried or Shadeaux. From a personal level, I'd vote *DRAGONS* because, well, *DRAGONS* - and because after the bit of teamwork in the #138 side-quest, I think it'd just plain be cool to have Warlen/Lind as some sort of team(and you just can't make a cooler team than a DRAGON-RIDING DUO   ), but, that's just IMHO/IMCIC(In My Humble Crazed Imagined Canon). From a RP standpoint...a Necromancer probably'd fit better though, if you're trying to have Warlen "go evil/violent". I think Chi Monk would be the best build-wise for Warlen because you'll be taking and giving a lot of damage, which is perfect for that Vorpalis gear. Good point. Quote

Flipz Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Kiray mutters some swears under her breath. She couldn't remember the last time party members argued like this. She slides up to Bobby and whispers "May as well sneak out of here and do it all ourselves at this rate." So what was 104, then, The Circle of Kumbaya? Quote
