Fred Daniel Yam Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 What exactly is this meant to imply? Clearly he wishes for you all to age a few years older Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 What exactly is this meant to imply? It clearly means that the young Barbarian wishes the party to indulge in Potions of Rapid Aging. And they are very delicious things, too, but with the unfortunate downside of rendering one's face somewhat furrowed. He turns to Calamity, "It does seem like we art two groups here on this quest, we two and those "two kids". Shall we go?" Apparently you missed the part where Annie's 19. With lady elves, you take the number, and multiply by a hundred. Quote
Emjajoas Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 What exactly is this meant to imply? Yeah, I'm not really sure what you were getting at with that, Mencot, but it's not really appreciated and it's certainly not a good way of expressing frustration with how we're playing the game. I'm trying to play my character a lot more than I have in the past, so I'm taking advantage of moments like this where I can highlight the things that define him right now. I'm sorry if that's led to a Quest that feels frustrating to play, as it wasn't my intention-- But please note that if you do have an issue with how I'm playing the game, there are better ways to bring it to my attention. Sandy Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 Just letting you know that Singapore's been great. Tomorrow we will visit Legoland Malaysia, yay! :D Quote
KotZ Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 So my laptop just had what I'm assuming is the same problem Sandy's had. So expect mobile posts from me now for a while (hopefully this is just a fluke). Quote

So expect mobile posts from me now for a while (hopefully this is just a fluke). That it runs on Windows ? Just kidding, of course. Have a great time Sandy! Forgive my curiosity, but are you meeting up with WhiteFang too while you're in Singapore? Quote

Endgame Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Should be even scarier, because you aren't giving him his Vorpalis Purger boosts. Quote
Flipz Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Should be even scarier, because you aren't giving him his Vorpalis Purger boosts. Where do you think I got the +8 from? Only reason he didn't murderate all the things is because he was forced to Back Row by Afraid and Spellblade Spin is a melee attack. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Question: What's better? A-Effects only last one round, or B-Only one negative effect at a time. Quote

Flipz Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Question: What's better? A-Effects only last one round, or B-Only one negative effect at a time. One at a time has served me well--as a MK and Skirmisher I was able to cure myself of negative effects with the Sword of the Vampir, and of course for the latter Sealed is a useful "clear all". You'd have to ask Pie about "only one Round", but from what I can tell it's served him pretty well, too (well, aside from Doomed ). Quote

Galactic Armor solved that problem almost immediately after it cropped up. Having effects last one round is pretty great. It keeps you or another party member from wasting an entire turn using a Remedy and moderately annoying but not outright disabling effects (Weakening, Fragile, Poison, Cursed) are pretty much useless. Flipz Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I'd agree with all of those except Fragile; it is a lot more threatening than people give it credit for. I kind of like how our 139 party is slowly falling apart; it's not this big, fiery hostile argument, we're just all stepping on each other's toes with our different viewpoints and personal agendas. CMP Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 (Someone share the quick version of the Baltarok Trilogy for us youngsters.) Orcs + Kingdoms = Conflict Quote
Duvors Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I'd have to disagree with you, Poisoned isn't very threatening for high leveled characters who have tons of health, but for low leveled characters it can be deadly, and it stacks too, meaning that an enemy who deals poison constantly can eventually have a hero taking 50+ damage a turn, so even the really, really high level people can be brought down fast. And in conjunction with normal damage it gets worse. Of corse this doesn't matter that much to people who have remedies and grand potions coming out of their ears but you will run out eventually and then you're gone. Curse is even more dangerous because is removes maximum health, even if you use a remedy instantly there's still that tiny bit of health missing that you cannot regain by any means. Again, this is less dangerous to high-level players than to noobs, but it's still confers a disadvantage to you for the entire rest of the battle even if you remedy it instantly. Weakened halves the amount of damage you do, this can slow down a battle massively if applied to enough party members, and if the enemy you're fighting has higher defense than half your power you might as well start making daisy chains. Remedies can, again, bring an end to this quickly, and I think that's why so many negative effects are underrated, you have a special that makes me poisoned, cursed, weakened, and fragile? Well screw you, 'cause I have this really cheep consumable that I bought in the marketplace that removes them all at once! Quote

Flipz Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Hoke's still there to fight with his comrades, he's just tired of the politics and social engineering. He STILL doesn't see how so many Baltarok Trilogy players could so easily side with the orcs. Hoke hasn't had experience (to my knowledge) of being an outcast, of being the bottom rung of a social ladder that hates you for things about yourself that are impossible to change. Additionally, the Orcs had zero hand in the burning of Carn, while the Kingdoms were directly responsible for the burning of Immaelstym. Carn burned because a bunch of Nords (who had already been dicks by taking Grishnod for no apparent reason--or if there was, it wasn't detailed) got mad about people freeing their prisoner and blamed the Kingdoms--a bunch of dicks got repaid for their dickery and got pissy about it (*cough*internet*cough*), with the Orcs having no hand in the matter (other than existing/one of them being taken prisoner months earlier, I guess?) prior to the bridge battle; Immaelstym burned because King Speros' racist son decided to invade Baltarok to repeat the Nords' dick move, deliberately choosing war with the Orcs over war with the Nords. (Hey, newsflash buddy, if you weren't racist maybe you'd realize that BOTH you and the Orcs have a reason to hate the Nords now, maybe your armies can go bond together in battle. ) And yeah, I'm being a little unfair to Zepher (reading back it's clear he did a tremendous job of dragging through despite the logistical challenges of having a smaller, less active party than he wanted), but basically the overall Orcish sympathy comes down to the facts that 1.) Immaelstym was unprovoked, and 2.) Carn was not the Orcs' fault by any stretch of the imagination. (Someone share the quick version of the Baltarok Trilogy for us youngsters.) Orcs + Kingdoms = Conflict Racists make a bad situation worse. -------------------------------- Actually, I think I can give a summary of the Orcish side: Orcs: The Kingdoms are gonna attack us and try to wipe us out. Heroes: Don't be ridiculous. The Kingdoms would *never* be stupid enough to start and unprovoked war for no good reason. Orcs: Well...okay, fine, we'll do it your way. *The Kingdoms start an unprovoked war for no good reason.* Heroes: ...well, shit. Orcs: NOW do you believe us?! Heroes: ...yeah, f*ck those guys. UP YOURS, KINGDOMS! Ladies and gentlemen, Quest #89 in a nutshell. Quote
