Quest 141 Ancient Bones, I see what you did there.

They're an actual drop from the Fields of Glory; Sandy created them, not me.

Speaking of the Fields, I should be able to run the round in a few more hours.

I'm very disappointed I was without a computer for a spirited debate about the Baltarok trilogy. I would have loved to come to the Kingdoms' defense. I do hate seeing my quests being called lose-lose, though! They may just not be as much of a win-win as some other QMs, but I don't think they're always the worst possible endings either.

As for 139, you guys can keep discussing it all you want, but I'll keep my commentary for the end! I have hosted simple get the treasure quests before, though! 84 and 92 both, and I was pleased with both of them.

I tried my best, Though, I think, in the end, Hoke just knew he was hired to do a job and nothing was going to stop him from finishing it.

Maybe lose-lose is a bit harsh, but it seems like there is a lack of clear resolution and a lot of grey. Like I said about the Baltarok quest: it seemed like there were just too many fires to be but out by the Kingdoms crew, and that the bridge battle was inevitable, which, really, isn't a bad thing.

Oh, it was! I'm not denying that. The Kingdom's force attacking was entirely up to you, though - either the Paladins and the Red Lizards, or the Nords and the Four Boulders. And the lives lost at the end were also up to you. We did have to force the bridge battle though. I'm a railroader and proud, I just build in as many options as I possibly can within the confines of the story.:blush:

The bridge battle could've been done better in hindsight, but it would've been the least climatic thing ever if you managed to talk everyone down.

I think the big problem with the bridge battle was the mechanics of it, which to be fair can be a pain to tweak when you're going for a specific concept. The Coelophysus in 141 right now are sort of my take on a similar concept, while also borrowing Zepher's "hits" mechanic from the horses in Baltarok (I had completely forgotten those were a thing before I went back and re-read it, we need to use the hits mechanic more often in mixed-level partied).

Specifically, I think the two big issues were that changing Rows took a turn and that melee Heroes couldn't fight from the Back Row. Looking back, I think that keeping Rows within each section but letting ranged attackers fire between sections (sort of like Brickdoctor's archers in the hex battles) could have worked. Having to take a turn to move between sections and having to keep at least one person within a section to keep it from being overrun worked really well, it's only when it got combined with the existing concept of Row that things got kinda ooky.

B-o-r-i-n-g.

I thought the Baltarok battle was brilliant.

I would have liked to see more orcs die though. :look:

Does anyone remember how much longer it will be until Sandy's trip is over and he gets his computer back from the shop?

I'm at Singapore airport now, and if there's no delays, I'll be home tomorrow early enough to pick up my computer from maintenance, and get you an update within 24 hours.

What side is Sarge probably going to side on? You have access to all three...

League of young men in their prime

He isn't caught up in dogma or ideology on the subject, making it hard to place a side, so I don't really know :look: . However I can't see him joining the Bonapartes from bitterness. That's all I'll say for now, because #130 is going to change Sarge for certain.

Computer is back up and running! Photos are thankfully alive and well. All hail IT!!

I have some real world work to catch up on since I've been without a computer for four days, so updates will come very late tonight, or in the afternoon tomorrow, but then things will continue at their normal pace once more. Thanks for bearing with me throughout this, very glad to have my laptop back!

800 seems like its fields health. It's not an adult yet, so I figured having less halth than its max, adult form made sense

No, 800 is just what it reduced to (rounded) when I first ran my reduction formula. The real deal is quite a bit more challenging...

Also, wow you guys got rotten rolls on the Southwest side. You managed to get two 1's mixed in there, but one of them was for Mac and one of them was on the one party member whose SHIELD isn't that helpful for you. :sceptic:

No rush. :classic: FYI, I'll be gone all day tomorrow, so no updates from me as Arthur or anything else.

Because it's been...I've honestly forgotten :look::wacko: ...since the first announcement went up, and because my mind is in Hinckley mode, it's 7:38 in Finland.

The question is, did he mean, home tomorrow after arriving back from Singapore, or home tomorrow after work?
