Kintobor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) @Kinto @Em Too hard of a sale for you to make. Probably should of thought about this before you cut off my husbando's hand. Traitorism and that stuff. On the birght side, the music industry will be booming. Turncoats: The Musical. While the Future King was talking to some of his confidantes earlier today, he expressed concern over boxing out Karie. Sorry, Kinto. I honestly don't mind. I don't think Karie could handle the pressure of being a leader to begin with. She's impulsive and impatient, two qualities not fit for ruling. Annienal however may side with King Boomers, since she wants in on that Ziegfried magic. I don't know how obvious Annie's goal is, but she has dropped inklings of it before. Anyone got plans for a Winged Warrior quest? Edited September 17, 2015 by Kintobor Quote

Asphalt Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Gotta admit, I have never been on a spell heavy quest. Which would be most useful? Scroll of Blindness -Scroll of Frailty -Scroll of Confusion -Scroll of Sealing -Scroll of Sleep -Scroll of Weakening Quote
K-Nut Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 It depends. Sealing is nice for if there's one enemy that has a real nasty special. Then again, they're probably immune to sealing too. Quote
Flipz Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 It depends. Sealing is nice for if there's one enemy that has a real nasty special. Then again, they're probably immune to sealing too. It's called "QM Bias" and I'm guilty as hell of it. I'd choose Frailty or Blindness--they're the two I used most as a Mage. Quote
Sandy Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 Can you buy items and have them Z-Mailed to you, or do you have to be phyiscally there? The faction stores work exactly like the Marketplace, in that you can only access them in-between quests. However, you can join the factions mid-quest via letters, as well as vote in the Kingmaker-event. Quote
swils Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 If you can only pick one, I'd go frailty. You have Nostrums to increase your odds against a nasty special, and Smelling Salts to limit the number of free hits you take, but meads only double your power. A frail enemy can be taken down in record time. If you're planning to get more than one, I would say Frailty > Silence > Sleep > Blindness > Weakening > Confusion. Quote
Palathadric Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Sleep is underrated and extremely powerful. I think there are also fewer enemies that are immune to it. The thing is that the Scrolls of Sleep, Blindness, and Confusion (sometimes) all block free hits, which can be vital. Quote
swils Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) That's true, and I would say that sleep is extremely powerful in some place like the Fields. However, most quests feature powerful specials rather than overwhelming mobs, and in the current meta of Heroica, being able to negate free hits across a large group of enemies is generally less advantageous than negating that one big special. Flipz Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Confusion is really cool, but it's a terrible control effect; you're better off with Blinding, Sealed, or Sleep. Sleep is incredibly powerful, but if you have any AoE allies in the party (i.e. Barbarian classes, Mage classes, Dragoons, Cannoneers, etc.) they can very easily screw it up for you (as will inattentive allies). The advantage of Sleep is that it blocks rolls of 5, 6, and Free Hits, BUT it only lasts until you get a hit in--think of it more like an upgraded Stunned than anything else. --------------- Question about the Tritech Enhancement: is this item supposed to also include a "weapon must be renamed to include 'Tritech Enhanced' in the name" clause like Mystril, Mythril, Adamantite, and Ancient Amber? That's true, and I would say that sleep is extremely powerful in some place like the Fields. However, most quests feature powerful specials rather than overwhelming mobs, and in the current meta of Heroica, being able to negate free hits across a large group of enemies is generally less advantageous than negating that one big special. Plus, you could always carry around a Stun and/or Sleep bomb for emergency mob use. Heck, a lot of the junk I carry around is for one-off emergency situations I don't expect to encounter but want to be prepared for otherwise (i.e. the Love Potion/Ambrosia I used up in the duel in 139). No, since you only need to use one of them in any given weapon, so discerning which weapon one has already been used is unnecessary. Quote
Chromeknight Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Yes Nerwen will go Sungold. No, Nerwen will not be nominating herself. Yes, that puts her in a different camp to Guts. Quote

Zepher Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I believe you can still nominate her! Don't forget the NPCs either! If Cousland hadn't been such a jerk to Boomingham for the last four years, she'd probably have his nomination. Quote

I really doubt the NPC's (from outside the factions) will get any votes. I'd be surprised if people even back the candidates Sandy/the Houses proposed . Quote

Zepher Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Could be cool though. I'm running myself, so I don't really have legs to say it, but why should the heroes run the city? They seem way less qualified than many others I can think of. Skuld4prez. I wonder how it will work for the Wolfgang. Surely Ulric would be the de-facto candidate I was assuming that too. Wonder how it'll pan out. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 It's all moot anyways, there can only be one true king. and his name is john cena. Quote
Khorne Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I wonder how it will work for the Wolfgang. Surely Ulric would be the de-facto candidate I think it was Endgame who suggested it, but maybe the Wolfgang will have some sort of Kingbreaker event? Try and sabotage the other Kings. Something like that? Obviously Ulric is the Wolfgang's King, would be kind of weird if Heroes announced they'd become king of the Wolfgang... Could be cool though. I'm running myself, so I don't really have legs to say it, but why should the heroes run the city? They seem way less qualified than many others I can think of. Skuld4prez. But Boomingham was a king himself, how could he not be qualified...? Oooooh right, the drinking problem . Quote
