I'm the QM, I can do what I want. Seriously though, I didn't feel the need to drag the battle on for too long, since the field is already ruined. But it's not over quite yet!

Well, I'm certainly not going to complain if we get rid of those things quicker! If the adult ones kept appearing, eventually we'd have to flee.

You are indeed right, that was a mistake on my part. You may return the Tonic you used back to your inventory.

Oooh! Why, thank you! It's not everyday that someone gets to correct a GM.

Here is my character, the furs are custom made by me and the body is an old vikings one. I'm sure you all know the face. I've posted an epic as my backstory in the hall.

Oh and by the way, any of you want to guess what 'Haldor Skovgaard' means?

Yay for more Norsemen  ! About the name, I guess its meaning has got to do with 'Thor'. 'Dor' is a corruption of the word 'Thor', so could it be your character's name means something along the lines of "Thor's hall"? I have no idea what 'Skovgaard' means, though :sceptic: . 'Gaard' is obviously a reference to an enclosed space, but I've got no clue on 'skov' .

Another interesting character to join Heroica RPG  .

*huh* Wow you're good!

Since you're neally there i'll give you the first one Haldor means 'Thor's rock' which was really close to your idea! :sweet:

Skovgaard means 'farm by the woods (or forest)', it's quite a common Danish name (there must be lots of farms near the woods!).

I'm going out of town shortly and won't be back till Monday evening. I hope to check in at least once a day but it depends on how stingy the friend I'm staying with is with his internet. If Cronk is holding things up with the quest, Pandora can choose what he bashes.

Dang! If I missed something tomorrow, I was gonna ask you! Nah, I won't miss too much, I wont't even be gone 24 hours, and I might be able to get through to here on the train there and back.

Sorry if I missed something - what is an 'Extra Critical Hit'?

It's a move exclusive to the barbarians. Just check the job class entry in the rules.

I have to deeply apologize to the gang in Quest#3 for delaying their adventure further. I promise you will get to the nursery tomorrow.

As good news, I can see at least one of the quests concluding this weekend, so there might be something new to see at the Quest Board very soon.

:wall: :wall: :wall:

Of course I'll be gone tomorrow! Though it probably won't affect the game play too much. And since it will have taken nearly two days to get there, Althior is going to be down a lot of cloak sizes.

No need to apologize. It's finally getting me off my computer for a few hours a day.

May I ask what a sleep-effect bears on the enemy? I copuldn't find it anywhere at the rules.

That reminds me I need to add a page about the battle effects to the rules.

Sleep-effects puts the enemy target into sleep, meaning they cannot act unless they are woken up by an attack. It works a bit differently on the heroes, though, since their allies can use a remedy to wake them up. The affected player can also try to wake themselves up by throwing a specified number in the die (see the armchair battle for an example).

And two more questions (it's possible both have been answered before, but searching through this topic is rather difficult, so how about that errata/FAQ section in the first post?)

a) will one (or more) of the advanced classes based on the Mage open up for using more than one elemental gem in a spell?

b) it is possible to stack weapons' special effects, right? (so I can add Venom to my Lullaby wand and get a wand that both causes the target to fall asleep and be poisoned?)

These haven't been asked before. I'll try to fix up an FAQ for the first post, but I'm kinda busy at the moment, so if anybody would want to compile one from the questions answered in this topic I'd be ever grateful.

Anyway, onto the answers:

a) no, sorry. I'll look into that for the expert jobs, though.

b) yes, of course.

FAQ

Q: When creating a character, do I post it in this thread or Heroica Hall?

A: Heroica Hall.

Q: When introducing ourselves, do we need a lengthy intro?

A: It's up to you how deep you want your intro to be.

Q: Consumable items can be used on anyone in battle, correct?

A: Yes.

Q: If everyone had signed up for their quest and everything was ready, would the Quest start early?

A: No, we'd still need to give everyone time to make up their mind before the sign-up deadline.

Q: Is it possible to change quests?

A: Yes, you can change as much as you want until the sign-ups end.

Q: One weapon per hand?

A: Yes, for example, you can put Daggers: (WP: 3) into your inventory.

Q; Do I need my pictures up right away?

A: No, as long as you get them up eventually.

Q: Can I change my character?

A: Yes, as long as they stay the same character and don't change classes.

Q: How long does a quest take?

A: Be prepared for at least three weeks.

Q: You must sell treasures you get on quests, right?

A: No, you can just add their value to your amount of gold automatically.

Q: When a quest starts, can the chosen players still post in the Heroica Hall topic?

A: Not until the quest is over.

Few! I'm going to hold you to that ever gratefulness. And so you know, I did all questions I found important, not just the FAQ's. If I didn't do that, there'd be about two questions.

Thanks a ton, K-nut!

You have just earned yourself a complimentary Tonic, which you can add to your inventory.

heroica-tonic.jpg1 x Tonic – Restores 5 ether to the target.

I will go over that list to see if any clarifications are needed, and then put it in the first post.

As far as the expert jobs go, there really is nothing to tell yet, since I they only exist in theory. I still need to make finishing touches to the advanced classes too.

Seems I keep noticing things I need to ask about

What are the actual colours of the various gems? (I really want my fig to actually have the correct elemental gems too )

Ruby - trans-red

Aquamarine - trans-light blue?

Garnet - trans-orange?

Sapphire - trans-dark blue

Opal - trans-light blue?

Topaz- trans-yellow

Emerald - trans-green

Diamond - trans-clear

Amethyst - trans-purple

(included all of them in case I got some of them wrong)

The Opal is actually a paler blue than the Aquamarine, but in Bricklink it seems to be referred as "trans-medium-blue" while the Aquamarine is "trans-light-blue". It doesn't matter if you use "trans-orange" or "trans-neon-orange" for the Garnet, though.

Here's a bigger photo of the nine gems arranged in alphabetical order:

Thanks, and I guess that's because the colour BL calls "trans-light blue" is older than the one called "trans-medium blue" (introduced in 1985 and 2001 respectively)

Hmm, I might need to pick up a few Amethyst gems. Do you know what set they come in?
