Scubacarrot Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I think Calamity's channeling Guts now. I was going for Hybros with the heh, but I can see it. Quote
Chromeknight Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 We need more Clerics. Like, really really REALLY need more Clerics. Especially high-Level ones. It's only just now hit me that almost none of the original Clerics are still active, and we literally have TWO Ether-healing characters above Level 30 (Althior and Boomingham). That's...really not good. Minstrels heal using ether. Also, Nerwen will go high cleric (2 battles, one successful quest). Quote

Seriously, Necromancer is, sort of, but becoming a Necromancer, seems to me, to be a major roleplaying decision. The same with Minstrel. I think once we start getting into the 40s then people will start going High Cleric, but yeah, the Expert Classes aren't exactly a golden age for Cleric-based builds. Quote

Chi Monk is better suited to Clerics and Mages than anything else, IMO. Also, Alchemists are healers and support by trade, maybe that has been confused because Guts was still a hard hitter as an Alchemist. Quote
CMP Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Quick question about the factions: Atramor is on a quest that rewards Bonaparte reputation right now. If he joins the Crescent Union before it ends, he won't receive that reputation when the quest is completed, right? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Now that is the kind of sneaky thinking we need in the Crescent Union. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Now that is the kind of sneaky thinking we need in the Crescent Union. Seconded. I think I just found Lind's selection for Minster of Intelligence... Quote

All past, present and future reputation with the opposing faction is nulled when you join a side. I'm about to post the Wolf King's Followers topic, so stay tuned. Quote
Flipz Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Wait, AND FUTURE?! ...I'm back to not liking the concept. Houses can go megabluck themselves. Quote
Flipz Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 What denying all future reputation does is basically just segregate all Heroes from ever Questing together. We will never get to see Nerwen and Guts interact outside the Hall, unless there's another cross-Quest interaction event like Dastan or Baltarok. Sure, I suppose we as QMs could go out of our way to stop offering reputation so we can build our parties based on the interactions the characters are likely to have (which directly affects the quality and story of the Quest), but we're already suffering from a dearth of reputation rewards, and this would only make things worse. Blargh, I'm too tired to English properly. I'll try to explain my issues more clearly once I'm awake and have access to a real keyboard. Quote

I don't think the rules have been laid out enough to show how QMing will work in the future, just because a Quest will offer certain reputation doesn't mean it'll prevent anyone from joining it, it just means that it won't really benefit them. UsernameMDM Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I think you're overreacting Flipz. Out of the last dozen quests, what percent offered rep? Quote

That's not necessarily a good thing, I pulled numbers on this a little bit ago and only about 1/5 quests offer reputation directly. Edited September 29, 2015 by Waterbrick Down Quote

But it doesn't spell into Flipz's doomsday scenario. Also, doesn't gaining rep from competing houses already cancel each other out? Quote
KotZ Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Also, doesn't gaining rep from competing houses already cancel each other out? Not exactly. Now that the houses are aligned, that's what cancels it out. Someone could have great rep with the Shadeaux and the Ji Pei, but now they can't. Quote

Actually they can as they're both part of the Crescent Union, and someone only loses rep once they join the specific side so up until then everyone can still interact as normal. Quote

Zepher Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Right. All past, present and future reputation with the opposing faction is nulled when you join a side. So essentially, make a good choice. And Flipz, heroes can still quest together. As everyone has said, rep is pretty rare. And sometimes, often, it can show in a quest without having been the reward, which means people can still refuse and deny it if they choose! Quote
Mencot Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 With the gold, she bought a Heavy Armor for 230 gold, a set of five tools - a Shovel, a Pickaxe, a Magnifying Glass, a Telescope, and a Magic Compass - for 150 gold, two Smoke Bombs for 10 gold, four Potions for 20 gold, three Remedies for 30 gold and a Phoenix Essence for 50 gold, as well as some Smelling Salts for 25 gold and Nostrum for 35 gold, leaving her with 60 gold. (610-230-10-20-30-40-50-(2x5=10)-(4x5=20)-30-50-25-35=60 gold) "Aaah! That pleased Us greatly!" Nice move On the house and alliance "issue". Was it so if we choose one side, we can´t sometime in the future betray that one and go over to an other one? But it was allowed to leave an alliance, right? Quote
Kintobor Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 "Say, good sir", she said to the first merchant she encountered. "What would you pay Us for these golden statuettes?" Quintessa ended up gaining 600 gold for the three Henry Awards she had been given. (10+600=610 gold) I thought it was if you one any amount of Henry's you got one statue? Can we get clarification on this? Quote
Zepher Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Just to bring some clarification as to who is due awards I've laid out the list below, feel free to add them in any combination to your existing PC's: Sandy: 5 Quote
