This'll have an interesting impact on Miderun's faction choice.

Kiray is going to be chatting Miderun up quite a bit more now.

I agree with WBD, I think you can say it like this: grey is all good, and a necessary staple of a decent story, character or anything narrative. But too much grey becomes goop. No one likes goop. It's indistinguishable and messy. We need some white and definitely some black every now and again. And because the Wolfgang storyline is so important to Heroica, it's quests are generally great (Quests 6 and 66 are two of my favorites despite not being on either), people expect and want things of them, and because it's a storyline of one person, that creates problems. Maybe.

I realized I was lacking a proper villain, so I made Baba one, even though she originally was just a nasty witch living in a bog. Then I tried to insert her into the main storyline in a way that made the faction I most wanted to portray as "shades of grey" as evil, so I needed her to leave one way or another. But I can assure you guys that she will be back to get the whopping she deserves.

And next you'll be advocating for vampire rights too, huh. Can't they just go to the blood bank like anyone else?

Late again! Dr. Cula has been advocating vampire rights ever since Quest#34!

But he's an alchemist. That cheater probably just makes synthetic blood for himself.

That's very cool. Villains are always the most important character in a story. I do see one problem with having a single villain, especially in what is I think pretty much the main story is that not everyone gets to interact with them, which if you want them involved in the main quest is not ideal. (That's also why I feel like there'd be a push for a villainous faction).

I believe it has been stated that he does do that! Or at least that that is one of his most important research projects.

Well, that brings up my other major storyline, the Pandemonicon Story Arc... I know it hasn't been featured much, but my next quest will shed more light upon the whole deal with the book and the archdemons.

There you go Hoke nice and simple, have at 'em. The only one I think you'll have to worry about siding with them is Calamity.

Or being seduced by Rosier or eaten by Mephisto or tempted by Abaraxas or something.

Humane archdemons with unique/misunderstood thinks & feels?

Don't forget Lind - there's power in them thar books!

(Lind won't be siding with any demons, but if there's power to be absorbed, well, who better/worse to absorb it than a certain Munchkin... )

Lots of people better, not too many worse.

Ugh.

Sorry, but I came here to play a fantasy RPG, not embroil myself in some socio-political commentary/experiment.

Why can't we just fight against monsters, weird creatures and loot long forgotten catacombs and dungeons...

Because I find those quests a bore to host, and if I'm going to spend one to two hours every single day working on something for about three or four months, it can't bore me.

Wasn't talking about you in particular Mr Sensitive.

I'm invested in my love/hate relationship with your quests, so feel honored.:grin:

I never worry about reeling Hoke back in.:tongue:

Dragon + Quest = Hoke

And you always seem to have one floating around.

Well, don't worry, I'm almost almost done hosting. Just 2 more quests, and only one with everyone's favorite little dragon.

Also, CMP, speaking of characters who are animalistic - I just looked at the first shot of 130 and saw a seagull on a post and thought to myself "I don't trust that seagull". So good work there.

But those are the easy quests to host!

Just wait until I introduce my oft-recast second character: Bob the Amnesiac Mindflayer!

(...Yeah, barring Sandy barring Mindflayer as a PC race, I'm actually serious.)
