Zepher Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Not to be too political, but isn't it a little unethical to kidnap the progressive leader of a whole race just because you want a second pet. I wonder where all my characters will end up! I say only two more quests, but if Sandy allows me to contribute to the end of the game, whatever that looks like, I would absolutely try my best to come back for that. Quote

No kidnapping involved. It was her idea. And dragons are not pets; they are a force to be reckoned with! Edited October 1, 2015 by UsernameMDM Quote
Flipz Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Annienal has Wolfgang rep too... hmm... decisions, decisions... Beast Warrior could also work for Annienal... Do it. I actually really want to see Diana interact with Annie. RE: Wolfgang: I think I might be just about as frustrated as Sandy is with everyone's perceptions--sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who "gets" how they're intended to work. If my life settles down within the next two or three months, my Quest pair should help people see a different side to them. Quote

I "get" how they work, but I also get that, when you look at them compared to similar real-world historical events, they aren't currently organized enough to succeed. Enceladus Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 There has been some deep arguing going on around here about the position of the wolfgang and other political matters in Eubric, so I figured I might as well post some of my Na'ims thoughts on the issue here. Na'im thinks Eubric being a freeport is it's greatest asset. It makes it a haven for new ideas and forward thinking which has made it by and large, very wealthy, even if the wealth isn't very well distributed. Given that, Na'im would rather not have a king at all, but he understands the people of Eubric are frightened by the lack of order within Eubric, and want the protection of some kind of authority figure. However Na'im is afraid the wolfgang and what they represent, for the simple reason that he dosen't think a wolfgang government would be stable, and he doubts Ulric can live up to his promises of equality for all so sooner or later he will be dethroned by those very people who helped get him into power in the first place. Also Na'im thinks a communist style regime under Ulric would be a disaster for Eubrics economy. For that reason, Na'im will probaly be backing the Crescent union-they are a force for change, yes, which is what the people want but not too radical change either which Na'im doesn't want. He's still open though about whom to vote for King though and he is very open to pitches from proscpective kings.... Also here is (close to) how I envison Na'im to look in game! Quote
Palathadric Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Also, CMP, speaking of characters who are animalistic - I just looked at the first shot of 130 and saw a seagull on a post and thought to myself "I don't trust that seagull". So good work there. Kill him before he kills you, I say. Quote
Asphalt Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Love those spirits and their drops in 141. Quote

I get how they work, but their leaders are less than human so what does that make the organization, but an abomination and downright evil? Quote
JimBee Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Well, that brings up my other major storyline, the Pandemonicon Story Arc... I know it hasn't been featured much, but my next quest will shed more light upon the whole deal with the book and the archdemons. If there was any storyline that I wanted Hybros to be involved in, it's that one. Maybe besides Guffington. Except that the Crescent Union isn't exactly egalitarian. They have a family of Aoi - probably the most priviledged races on Olegaia - and a guild of alchemists who practically form a secret society that persecutes those that try to practice their trade outside their watchful eye. These people already have power over Eubric, and they haven't really seen necessary to intervene with orcish slavery before this - so why would they begin now? Well then they're big fat hypocrites. I feel like the Aoi have also been oppressed, especially in Eubric... And of course Dr. Cula and the Shadeaux are vampires (or close enough), and Madame Ladybug. It seems like they would have an interest in rallying orcs and others to their side. But I guess it's like others have said, shades of grey... Also I don't think Hybros has ever encountered the Wolfgang in person before. OoC: 10 gold, please. Also, I strongly advise you change the crossbow to mirror the SOAH. There's a reason we had to change that item. But that's your call. Boomingham runs his eyes over the enemies, checking if any of them are still alive. He then walks over to the Black Scorpion Knight. "Get up. We have a deal." QM Note: But the crossbow is only suitable for assassins, no other class. So it is a different case. Believe me, it is very easy to rack up those kills. For someone like Dyric who's been an Assassin for all of history and before, the weapon would be unstoppable. WP:300 anyone? The SOAH nerf was appropriate and effective. But yes, the heroes could sell it. Quote

Remember that the WP only goes up if instakill succeeds, normal killing through decreasing health doesn't count. Quote
Zepher Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Sorry once again - the internet and my computer seem unable of connecting. Very tired of the wifi at my apartment. Hoping to get back online ASAP. It came as I was correcting the last few rounds of 139 as well, so a bit bothered that I lost that. Quote

Remember that the WP only goes up if instakill succeeds, normal killing through decreasing health doesn't count. However, for every succesful attack, there is a 1/6 chance of an instakill (with a WP upgrade to boot) plus the Assassin's shield roll. Most of Sorrow's kills as assassin were instakills. Quote
The Legonater Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I went and counted, for what it's worth. Dyric has assassinated a total of 88 enemies, out of 401 potential assassinations. Make of that what you will. Also keep in mind that Dyric has awful luck and everybody in Baltarok was immune to Instant Death. Quote
Kintobor Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Also keep in mind that Dyric has awful luck and everybody in Baltarok was immune to Instant Death. Karie's had worse. Every time she's encountered the hexed negative effect, she's been hit with it. Quote
CMP Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I'm going to be very busy over this weekend so updates for 139 and 140 will be a bit delayed (I have a bit of photo stuff to do for 140 or I would've updated it now). Sorry for any inconvenience. Quote
Mencot Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 CMP, its okay. Update when you have the time. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) (I won it in the raffle, and it was kind of out there for everyone to see. So yeah, you're probably going senile. ) It's a Shield of Invisibility. Not that easy to see. Edited October 3, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Asphalt Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Shield Of invisibility, not an Invisible Shield. Very different. Quote

Zepher Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Hey all, ended up hosting a bunch of friends this weekend - really great time, but very little time for Heroica. I have a lot of work to catch up on in real life, so updates should come this evening. Thanks for your patience and apologies for not warning you at a better time. Quote
Endgame Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Arthur gaureunteed to hit Bellerai on the next turn, effectively meaning the battle is over? Quote
