Palathadric Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 But if someone started to say moon elves were everywhere, we'd have a problem because that's rude to other people who play the game. But Moone Elves are everywhere, ...as brought out by upcoming 5-part quest-line. Quote
Myrddyn Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) I'd again argue that it again comes down to respect. That doesn't mean crushing creativity. We've recently had aliens with robots visit Heroica, and a new player with a stomach with a mouth built into it, and no one bitched (and for the record I'd say Kaliphin falls into that, but I hope we've moved past that by now because seriously who the hell cares who calls desert what). But if someone started to say moon elves were everywhere, we'd have a problem because that's rude to other people who play the game. Though I guess, as you said, we'd just treat them as insane. So really the lesson is people will treat you as insane if you come to the game ignoring other people. I understand that "seriousness" can sometimes seem to lack creativity, but I think that it's really just respect for creativity, and at the best of time everyone will take the dude who loves his clothes and the dude with a mouth for a stomach just as seriously as they do ancient moon elves. Oh yeah sorry, I did read what you said earlier and I do agree a compromise should be made to ensure we respect other people's creations as much as possible, but at the same time, there are apparently 198 topics in the Heroica subforum, even the people who have read everything in there likely can't remember all of it at one time, so people are going to find their toes get stepped on. Like you say, though, we still need to do our best to respect each other. Edited October 8, 2015 by Myrddyn Quote
CMP Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 But Moone Elves are everywhere, ...as brought out by upcoming 5-part quest-line. Star Elves and Sun Elves are fairly numerous, but there are very few Moon Elves left. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Warlen is just a Half-Elf. I know nothing of the different races of elves, and that's not a problem. I've probably made up a couple of place names in my time, and mentioned ancient and powerful beings that noone else has heard of. And all that's fine. D'you know why? Because, in the end, Heroica is about the characters, be they players or NPC. In the case of Kaphliphim (spelling?), for those of you who are uncomfortable with it being in the Heroica-Verse, you can take it as a fiction, a fabrication, or just scale it down to a town. And for you, that's how Heroica is. Quote
Sandy Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Warlen is just a Half-Elf. I know nothing of the different races of elves, and that's not a problem. It's really not. Elves are everywhere. "Star Elves" refers to those living in Spesialia, "Sun Elves" to those in Eversummer Islands, and "Moon Elves" to those that lived in the sunken Mercution. "Wood Elves" live in the forests, while "Nomad Elves" wander the desert. Other than those, there can be any number of elven tribes living anywhere. It's the beauty of this game. Quote

Flipz Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Flipz, I'm just going to pretend that the Undead Tyrannosaur , if you don't mind horribly.Seriously though, awesome build. I was about to say that. It's really creative, and actually kind of cute. Thanks! It's actually a prop I've had sitting in a container for a good...what, seven years now? I built it purely out of pieces I'd happened to scrape together in a PAB cup and it sort of just happened to turn out all right. Finding it again was, however, what gave me the idea of what this Quest was going to be about, though. Quote
halixon Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 In other news; who's excited for Nexo Knights? Not really The reason i like Castle themes is because they are medieval/fantasy. Nexo Knights is too sci-fi for my taste. Not that i wouldn't consider buying a set, but over all, not really a fan. Quote
Cutcobra Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Can I make a suggestion for a positive effect? It's pretty simple, not that game-breaking and mostly for new players, but I thought I'd add it here: Focused: Rolls of Miss are turned into Hit. Quote

Cutcobra Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I'm pretty sure there's items that do that. I know there are (Like that bow) but I just thought it could be a useful addition for those who are still in the basic job classes (I know it's not that good of an idea). Quote
JimBee Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Huh. I think that's the first time I've actually used my shovel since I bought it with my first ten gold. Quote

CMP Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 As the Heroes depart the cave, Miirym likewise finds a golden treasure, though hers appears to be a statue of some kind (OOC: Henry Award). Venting some kind of inner tension, she shreds the small statue to pieces, and somehow feels healthier +1 max HP for the experience. Henry Awards are soul-bound to the hero, I think. Quote
Flipz Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Henry Awards are soul-bound to the hero, I think. It said in the topic I could give the award to any of my characters, but I'll defer to WBD's decision. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Not saying Soul-bound to the hero does not include dragons (I feel like it would), but can you even give permanent boosts to dragons? Quote
Flipz Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) Not saying Soul-bound to the hero does not include dragons (I feel like it would), but can you even give permanent boosts to dragons? Well, if I can use Nostrums and Potions and such on her, I don't see why not. I mostly want to apply the health boost so that Miirym's health is even (i.e. it becomes Level +30 instead of 30+Level-1). OCD in action, I guess. Edited October 9, 2015 by Flipz Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I see the point in if you can use consumables on dragons, why not permanent boosts and agree. The +1 to health while not fully intended, I would rule as allowable and not game breaking. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 That Licehn defense effect is beyond broken. Yes and no, it's rather situational in that it requires an ally to cast, only lasts for three rounds, and it limits the target from using their ether at risk of dropping their defense. The only thing I might suggest changing is the casting cost so at higher levels it wouldn't be too extreme. Quote

I'm thinking for "suishy" mages with 40 ether or so using it... 5-10 ther is nothing for 20-30 SP. Quote

Hence why a better worded ether cost would help it's balance. Additionally that squishy mage is going to need another squishy mage in the party. Quote
