That [Lichen] defense effect is beyond broken.

Yes and no, it's rather situational in that it requires an ally to cast, only lasts for three rounds, and it limits the target from using their ether at risk of dropping their defense. The only thing I might suggest changing is the casting cost so at higher levels it wouldn't be too extreme.

I'm thinking for "suishy" mages with 40 ether or so using it... 5-10 ther is nothing for 20-30 SP.

Hence why a better worded ether cost would help it's balance. Additionally that squishy mage is going to need another squishy mage in the party.

This is part of why I wanted to try out some of these more experimental items on NPCs, so I can see if they're even possible to balance for PC loot in later Quests.

I'll obviously keep the cost of Lichen Defense the same for the rest of this fight, but what do you think about 15-20 Ether? Would that balance it out, or does it need to go even higher? Would making it always be an arc scroll (and thus always cost Ether for ALL Ether-users in the party) help mitigate the overpoweredness if it were 15 Ether per target?

Sooo...any interest in revisiting the combining-of-#ofquests-hosted-with-#ofquests-participated-in to meet the requirement for a player's second character?

I'm of two minds on this. On one hand, as a reward for commitment to the game, it makes sense. On the other, we do really need more QMs, and the current system incentivizes that pretty well...

Then it becomes a scroll that low level heroes can never use and eventually a high enough level mage will easily shrug off the cost. How about 1/4 of the caster's Ether? It's a pretty steep cost but it would at least scale better across all the level spectrum.

In regards to the gun piece, I believe you can get them in white in Ultra Agents sets? [citation needed]

Speaking of which, Lind, what happened to your avatar/signature?

I don't think the Hall is the place to establish random NPC background.

I think it's the right place for it, unless we want to establish a specific thread for "non-quest-based exposition scenes".

That's actually why I was asking - I have one in white, but not in Light Blue Grey.

Thaaaaaaat...Would definitely not be because life really just hit a bad moment and I rage-quit, but eventually realized that Sandy had made a game that was too compelling to drop out of.

Not at all...

Well, welcome back?

And yes, I'm beginning to suspect Heroica is not unlike drugs. Addictive, and the price (in this case, time) goes up the more you do it.

Strangely, I'd say the level of insanity doesn't change that much. :look:

Glad you came back, it'd be empty without you :classic:

Just for the record, Lind, I don't think you're allowed to have such a big signature, even if it is in spoilers.

We use to keep our stats in spoilers in our signatures, but then Hinckley came a'knockin'

Is that any better? I edited out the pictures.

Also, just in general, does anyone have/see any problems with my prices? I get that it's a bit of a mark-up on the bigger items, but they're all items of which you really only need one, so I was trying to reflect the fact that "repeat shopping" wasn't going to be happening with those.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but am I the only one against PCs selling items to rival factions' PCs or undecided PCs?

Hey, when there is Hinckwells and Shadeaux involved, capitalism is sure to follow.

I'm pretty sure we've already discussed and OK'd that. It's an inevitable part of the game, like Artisan's offering discounts. It moves pieces around and everyone's happy. I don't see an issue.

That's where roleplay comes in. If your devoted to your faction enough, this should be a no no. Why would someone loyal to a faction sell items to those not of their faction? However, nothing says people can't be aligned with a faction for their own personal gain. I'm fine with it.

Also, in Lind's opinion, were he to be questioned about it, he's not being disloyal to his faction, he's helping the greater good - heroes typically are on the "good" side, more or less, so, ergo, by supplying them with better gear he's helping the greater good.

But like Kinto sort of said, it helps that Lind hasn't actually had too terribly much interaction with any of the Houses - his signing up for the running* was actually the first direct "interaction" he's had.

*He's still running, the resignation was retconned**.

**Helped by the fact that it wasn't in-character. Were it to have been in character, that'd have been a lot more difficult.
