Flipz Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 ...what on earth does that mean? It means Lind was mass-PM-ing people with potential Crescent rep yesterday. I ignored the one I got (Arthur isn't joining any union except MAYBE Wolfgang), but I guess he got a somewhat positive response. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 It means Lind was mass-PM-ing people with potential Crescent rep yesterday. I was not mass-PMing, I was politely reminding people that the deadline was drawing near, and, if they were interested, giving a calm overview of the choices. I ignored the one I got (Arthur isn't joining any union except MAYBE Wolfgang) I wasn't soliciting your vote, I was asking you if you were still planning on nominating Natasha. ...but I guess he got a somewhat positive response. "Somewhat positive" is an understatement, but it's all but over now - it may already be over, according to the rules. The first event, Kingmakers, ends in 24 hours! That was yesterday, at 4:10 A.M. Enceladus Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 That was yesterday, at 4:10 A.M. So some of the most heated debatig took place after the event finished? Quote
Endgame Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 So some of the most heated debatig took place after the event finished? We don't know. Sandy's call. If everything has to go into the redacted pile, then so be it. Quote
CMP Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 So some of the most heated debatig took place after the event finished? I was just going to comment on this. I like the discussion going on, though. Quote
Zepher Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Wouldn't it make more sense if everyone that at one point had unlocked an expert class kept it? Rather than doing it like this? But then there wouldn't be any consequences. Quote
Endgame Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 But then there wouldn't be any consequences. Locked out of quests and pitted against other people sounds like consequences to me. Quote
KotZ Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Wouldn't it make more sense if everyone that at one point had unlocked an expert class kept it? Rather than doing it like this? I agree with you. Once you have it, you should have it. Quote
Zepher Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Locked out of quests and pitted against other people sounds like consequences to me. There's more in-fighting pitting people against each other than between the unions. Or, at least in Crescent there is. Sungold is very polite. Quote

Until Boomingham leads it. Then you'll be doing all sorts of crazy stuff, like cutting off people's arms. Cough cough. Quote
Flipz Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Holy crap, is that a public post in Quest 136? I never thought we'd see one of those again! Quote
Sandy Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Like all new things I've tried with this game, I can see that this Clash of Houses event has it's kinks, too. That is why I always say that everything in this game can be changed if it doesn't work. So, a few clarifications are clearly needed: ~ If you join Sungold/Crescent, you will lose all reputation from the Houses on the other side. Wolfgang rep is not affected, so you can still side with the Wolf King's Followers. ~ If you join the Wolf King's Followers, you will not lose any reputation. ~ However, and this is something I seem to have forgotten to write out, if you leave any faction - including Wolf King's Followers - you will lose all reputation pertaining to that faction. ~ This means if you leave a faction and you have gained an expert job class that requires that faction's reputation, you can no longer train into that job. ~ I will however make a compromise and let you keep your active expert job class even if you lose the corresponding reputation. If you switch out of it, you can no longer train into it again until you've regained the rep. These are questions I should have answered right away, but the holiday celebrations and the four quests I have to keep track of have kept me busy. My apologies! Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 QM Note: The first event ended yesterday when the time limit was reached. Boris's votes were the last ones that count. This topic will never be locked because it will be used for future faction events. Technically it was still 2015 in the world somewhere. Why would someone not lose reputation after joining the Wolf King Followers, genuinely curious? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) Technically it was still 2015 in the world somewhere. Why would someone not lose reputation after joining the Wolf King Followers, genuinely curious? From a player standpoint, seeing as how the Wolf King's Followers are essentially "the bad guys" in the eyes of all the other PC's, it gives our characters a shot at redemption. CMP Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Probably for balancing purposes. Wolf King Followers only operate with one House. It would suck if you joined them and lost reputation with every other faction in the game. Quote
Endgame Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 (edited) From a player standpoint, seeing as how the Wolf King's Followers are essentially "the bad guys" in the eyes of all the other PC's, it gives our characters a shot at redemption. They're not supposed to be, though - even though I still think they're evil, they're not meant to be explicitly bad, especially after losing Baba. It is a nice balancing mechanic, though. Sandy Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Why would someone not lose reputation after joining the Wolf King Followers, genuinely curious? Like others said, for balancing reasons. I reckoned nobody would join the faction if they had to forsake all reputation with every other house. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Like others said, for balancing reasons. I reckoned nobody would join the faction if they had to forsake all reputation with every other house. I think it's more a case of people just not having Wolfgang rep in the first place. Quote
Khorne Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Boomingham enjoys a nice cup of tea with Servus, waiting to see if Eric and Sarge would come to have a word with him. ( ) That's just mean, man . I think I'll just go ahead and make my own Sungold Alliance. With blackjack and hookers . Someone has to keep Reno's ideas alive; Pirate Eubric Now! Quote
