CMP Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Yeah, it looks great. Are you working with the same figure or do you have an army of Green Goblins at your disposal? Quote
MysticModulus Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) As a beginner I really could use some input on the future choice of advanced job class for Ezeran. RP-wise I could se him evolving in a number of different ways: becoming a trickster (maybe sorceror), adhering to a more lawfully good codex (mystic knight) or playing out the symbionts role (evoker). I haven't really decided on anything yet, I'll se how he will evolve, however I would love som input on the pros and cons of the different classes both stats-wise and experiences when it comes to gameplay. I already gathered that the rogues and sorcerors ability to steal gold has been commented on as being not that good but (or am I wrong?). Edited April 1, 2016 by MysticModulus Quote

Hope you don't find it offensive if I ask the same thing, for the Barbarian starter class. I'm thinking of going for the Berserker, but that might not be the "best" choice. Battle Mage also seems cool... Quote

Not at all, we will soon (well within half a year which is soon enough considering the circumstances ) both be in the same situation. I probably will be considering the RP-factor highly in the end anyhow but it would be nice to know more. Edited April 1, 2016 by MysticModulus Quote
samurai-turtle Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I would tell you two see how your equipment ends up at the time. In reality you could role play it any way you want. Quote

Asphalt Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Yeah, it looks great. Are you working with the same figure or do you have an army of Green Goblins at your disposal? Only a small army. To Mystic and Al, It is great to be thinking but don't let an idea lock you into a decision. The best way to choose RP wise is to let your characters actions and the situations he has to deal with influence his evolution. You can do anything you want, but it is always more fun and easier to play if it fits. If your Character gets exposed to a lot of magic, and and you are thinking about taking him battle mage start playing that fascination early on. Have him buddy up to the mages, chat about gems and scrolls, that sort of thing. Have him start collecting magical type items out of fascination and interest. That way his decision to change jobs doesn't come out of nowhere. And think about what role you want your character to play. The spell wielding powerhouse, the commander of beasts, a spellslinger who keeps his friends alive. That will help too Mystic. Edited April 1, 2016 by Asphalt Quote

CMP Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Equipment load is good for getting a few ideas, but ultimately it's not that hard to get new equipment suitable for the class you change to. Something that takes both gear and roleplay into mind is the role you'll be playing in combat: would your character spend a lot of time healing people if he was a Sage, or a Shaman in Torald's case? If you went Mystic Knight would he prepared to spend more time on the front lines? Atramor started as a Rogue, then went Witch, but ended up as one of the most effective tanks once he went Regulator, both for RP (and gearing) reasons, so that kind of thing is something to consider. Waterbrick Down Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I think Jeb's brought it up before, but you can pretty much take your character in any direction you want. Don't feel constrained by your gear, especially if you're a mage as it happens to be one of the easiest classes to try different styles with. Allow your character to flit freely between the advanced classes if you want, spending one quest as one class and then switching the next until you find a good fit. Generally the rule of thumb is that it is difficult for non-ether classes to switch into mage classes, but it definitely can be done. Brief summary below but don't feel constrained to play your characters this way. Berserker: Barbarian specializing on taking on the big boss Shamaan: Barbarian with support options Battle Mage: Barbarian with spell slinging options Hunter: Barbarian with spike damage Raider: Barbarian with a side of AoE and gold generation Sage: Mage with support options Evoker: Mage with pet option, allows you to attack enemies who'd you rather not be damaged by Sorcerer: Mage specializing in debuffing Mystic Knight: Mage with SP Battle Mage: Mage with melee attack options Quote

Kintobor Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 He failed to delete the one he did not like and remove the one for which he cared not. Sounds like something Immortalis would do. "That's grammatically incorrect, boss." *stares intensely at the mistake until it vanishes from existence* "What spelling error?" Quote
Asphalt Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I just realized. Immortalis is Ruin. That which is not written in metal cannot be trusted. Quote
Endgame Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I don't know who that is, so I can't name him/her as an inspiration. Quote
Asphalt Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Ruin is a force from the Mistborn series. It works behind the scenes, influencing all events, and incidentally can alter any written word that it wishes so long as it has not been inscribed in metal. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I can't wait to compare PMs after the quest ends, to see what happened to everyone else/how everyone else's version went. Endgame Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) PMs are a pain in the ass to repost, just due to how the PMs are set up. That's why a lot of my sidequests don't see the public. Edited April 2, 2016 by Endgame Quote
