Exactly what I was thinking. Should I ditch Blizzard and make a less bland character, or make the best of him?

Again, it's really up to you. If you don't want to play as Blizzard, don't play as him. When you play as a character you just aren't happy with, you'll end up losing interest in the game. Trust me, I've been down that path. And if you truly don't want to continue playing as Blizzard, don't play as him just to please other players. This is a game and if people are annoyed that you want to make a new character, then shame on them. Heroica has so much creative freedom that I can see character creation being a somewhat challenging task.

All I'm saying is this: in my experience it's not the initial creation of a character that makes it worth while roleplaying, it's what you invest in it later when you are getting to know the character. I'm also biased towards Tim because Ezeran shared a quest with him and he got that investment from you playing him. Don't fret so much over creating characters, stick to one and learn to know that one. Characters are like people: they are flawed and that's what makes them interesting.

I would say you are about 90 % right because when you are playing with people that invest time and creativity in one or more quests forming relations with a character that gets dropped out of existence it can bbecome irritating. I'm not saying that is always the case but as with all relations it comes down to some degree of mutual respect.

Honestly, for me, I like to create a character I find aesthetically pleasing. Once I do that, I let my actions [on quests] define my character and build upon that. Sometimes going too in-depth with a character's background will just kill them.

That is true but it is also a shame to see players just leave because they are not happy with their character. Sometimes it will take a quest or two to determine the path for your character, especially with a game like Heroica that has so much creative freedom when it comes to designing a character.

Blizzard hasn't been on a quest yet and he hasn't really interacted a massive amount in the hall either, so it's hard to get a feel for him.

Seeing how you played Timothy, I think you can make something good out of Blizzard too, but it's really up to you. Characters usually grow through quests and what happens to them, so to a certain extent, if you want to ditch Blizzard, now would be the perfect time to do so, because there's nothing significant to him yet. However, I think at the same time that you won't really know if you want to play him or not until you go on at least one quest with him.

Also, a character can be whatever you want him to be. Perhaps you originally had a plan for Blizzard but you don't like it so much anymore, just change it then. Blizzard has not had a whole lot of interaction with the world around him so it won't really be a problem.

Just my two cents. :classic:

*Looks at 150*

See this is why I like Tiger Balms over Neutralizers in case of emergency, not only do you not have to remove your own party's positive effects, you also ensure that the enemy can't ever have positive effects again.

Don't get me wrong, Neutralizers have their uses, but at the end of the day they're a clumsy solution to a rare problem (enemy has only positive effects and allies have only negative effects).

*Looks at own inventory*

...never mind, I retract my previous smugness, looks like it's time for me to restock.

Solomon kept chanting, and suddenly the falcon on his arm burst into a ball of searing light and heat. When the heroes regained vision, they saw an enormous demon towering over them, rivaled in size only by Garuda. The air in the castle suddenly got intensely hot, and the heroes felt their skin scathing.

Don't take this the wrong way, but dang that sexy.

Why are Mephisto, Marilith and Abraxas all badass af but then we've got archdemons like Naamah who are basically just minifigures. :cry2:

Size ain't everything, what matters is how you use it. :poke:

Hmm, wonder why my avatar got deleted when everyone else's is fine?  I'll have to try and fix it when I'm back on desktop.

Oddly, the site respects mobile Firefox when it asks for desktop mode, but doesn't respect Chrome when it does the same.

Good Lord, the formatting! *huh*

Now you know why I always rail against the rich-text editor; it really liked to add several dozen of the same BBCode tag...over and over and over again... :look:

I still have nightmares of trying to clean people's stats because the excess tags would eventually overrun the characters-per-post limit. *shudders*
