Flipz Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Maybe I should take up being a villain then Also, I think a lot of us (myself included) are too harsh on the QMs. It's hard enough to play a character well and make plans and such in that regard, imagine doing that for dozens of characters, trying to balance battles and other encounters, making sure there isn't too little or too much or too powerful loot, and then factor in Real Life...not to mention how many QMs take on these responsibilities IN ADDITION to the rigors of having a well-defined, well-roleplayed character. QMs, you all deserve a and our respect. Quote
K-Nut Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Not sure if anyone is going to try me in the arena though, heh. Whoever gets the Bright Armor in Quest #14 surely will! Quote

QMs, you all deserve a and our respect. Fair enough, I guess for my part I forgot that. Well, I haven't forgotten the struggles QM face enough to try to run a quest, I would crack in an instant. I do not have the resolve you QM's all face, nor the desire to test it. I am already spread thin through my other Roleplaying, I would break if I even attempted this, not to mention my lack of dice knowledge. I could never be a quest master. I might loan quest ideas to someone else though... But none the less I apologize for being impatient, though I have since calmed down. A good 92 minutes of MST3K works wonders, after I stop laughing and can breathe again. Oh The Final Sacrifice, will you ever stop being hilarious? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 (edited) Revised actions, as I believe they stand: 1. Hopet, heal Cinna & Thormanil from back 2. Cinna, darkness against Bright Day from back 3. Thothwick, attack Giant Chicken Leg (Right) from front 4. Thormanil, attack Red Dawn from back 5. Docken, attack Giant Chicken Leg (Left) from back Did I miss somewhere that Hopet can heal two targets at once without being hastened, is this a druid thing or just quest specific, or did I miss him taking a smelling salt at some point? Bricksandparts Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Have a little patience, yeah? When the quest is over, then you can criticize all you want. I meant it to be more of a joke, but I was still a bit frustrated. Though Before I say anything more, I'll see what happens before the quest is over. Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 (edited) Does anyone know when the next quest will be? Just slightly dissapointed that I missed out on the 24th one. Not that I'm really upset about it or anything, but still. Edited February 13, 2012 by Mibbiwocket Quote

Not that I'm really upset about it or anything, but still. Some people are bound to be cooking up some more ideas, as a few of the quests are nearing their ends in another week or so and there'll be an influx of heroes in the hall again. Perhaps you could find someone willing to do combat in the arena, or there is always the library which is full of useful information on past quests and Eubric in general. Sometimes it takes time and if you show continued interest and involvement even when you're not picked, it generally makes you more likely to be chosen for a future quest Edited February 13, 2012 by Waterbrick Down Quote

Fred Daniel Yam Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I feel sad, noone even thinks of my character at all, perhaps I need to dress like a clown and wield a horn as a hand cannon. Quote
CMP Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I feel sad, noone even thinks of my character at all, perhaps I need to dress like a clown and wield a horn as a hand cannon. Try some badass lockpicking. Just because your character hasn't had important moments yet doesn't mean he never will. It's all a matter of what you do on quests - try some more roleplaying. Quote
Khorne Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Atramor has not loved anyone in the hall. Leo and possibly Tarn- Ellaria Haldor- Jess Althior- Alexis Atramor is the only epic male character without a love interest. Edit: I forgot Cronk, hybros and Dekra. What are your standards for calling someone epic? As has been pointed out, and I support that statement, I too believe you left out a whole bunch of other 'epic' or cool characters such as Mr. Boomers ( ), Bartholomew, Arthur and many others. In fact, characters having a love interest are a minority . Also, I think Leo's way too young to go after Ellaria. Even though he's "officialy" 18 now, he's still a kid in my eyes . He's lacks the maturity Ellaria has, plus his love for her seems awfully rushed. Almost as if he's trying hard to keep up with the epic heroes and desperatley wants a girl . I hope you don't feel offended, just wanted to share my 2 cents on the matter . I feel sad, noone even thinks of my character at all, perhaps I need to dress like a clown and wield a horn as a hand cannon. Don't feel sad. Like CMPOD said, maybe it'd be better if you roleplayed your character some more. You know, give him some more depth and identity. You don't need to be a mass murderer, soulless killer or whatever to make your character stand out. I find the more realistic heroes to be the more interesting ones. Those whose stories aren't far fetched and seem very plausible . I have to admit though, a clown wielding a hand cannon-horn would be awesome . Quote

I remember William, as I said to Sisco, you don't have to add a demon within or a troubled past to make someone interesting. Just give him a personality, or a phobia of grass or something. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 It's funny how you suggest roleplaying to make a character more epic, yet you also say that Docken is one of the epic characters when I do virtually no roleplaying nowadays. (not that I mind - I'm flattered ) No, seriously, why is Docken considered an 'epic' character? It can't just be the eyepatch, can it? Quote

Tanma Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 That, and his amazing flexible arms! Truer words have never been spoken. But honestly, I think the source of Bartholomew's epicness is just this feeling you get around him. You get this sense that he could make a great story, one with plot twists and epic battles. Like he could make a globe trotting adventure, where the entire adventure is a lie and the protagonists are being used. A story where heroes must protect the last line of defense against attackers, a battle where the protagonists can affect their fate by making their own weapons of war. You just get that feeling whenever Barthholomew posts, and it is hard to separate that feeling from him. Like how whenever Boomingham talks some people think of Wren, though no one knows why since those two aren't connected at all. Or when Ellaria speaks you feel like you are in the presence of a powerful creator who could destroy you should you vex them, and it's best to act nice so that you don't get smited. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 No, it is because he is a forest man.Forestmen are epic. Quote

I called him 'epic', because I was using the wording Boy Wonder used. I'd rather call him 'memorable'. Why? Because he remains cool and calculating in every situation. Maybe that comes because of the "lack of roleplaying", but I think he's a memorable character because of that . Quote

Seriously, though, it's because he's so quiet yet confident. Of the two other Rangers who look most similar, William is very talkative, whereas Benji has an air of eager shyness (IDK why, it's just how he comes off). Elgar has a totally different feel, and talks a lot more anyway, Skrall has his whole "gentleman ogre" epicness going on, Alexis is a girl and a magic-user (speaking of which, her Hall profile needs to be updated soon, it still lists her as just a Ranger), and Olinn is new. All the other Rangers are inactive (including D'Eficcio Delfino from the Test Quest, which is a shame, because I think Def would be EPIC at Heroica.) EDIT: Speaking of Test Quest players...Pandora, Y U no re-addict Rufus to Heroica? But seriously, I'd love it if he were to rejoin the game, I'm sure he has lots of in-character knowledge that the rest of our Heroes would love to hear. Edited February 13, 2012 by Flipz Quote

I'm just trying to say that it is possible to be cool with out constant roleplaying. Roleplaying is good, but not everyone needs it. Docken is cool because he is always calm and sensible, so in your case Doc, less roleplaying is good. Sorry for mangling words there. Quote
Sandy Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Alexis is a girl and a magic-user (speaking of which, her Hall profile needs to be updated soon, it still lists her as just a Ranger) Do you guys think the Gallery should mention all the advanced classes that the character has tried out? I did not intend to do it in fear of having to update the info all the time, but on the other hand I have to do it anyway with all the quest-related information, so its up to you guys. Quote

Personally I think it is fine just having the current one, unless the class they chose somehow changed something. E.G. No magic users quest, was completed as a druid, yet they are a Sage. People might get confused, so maybe specify: Successfully completed Quest Blah at level Blah on the Blah of Blah, as a Druid. Quote
