Do you guys think the Gallery should mention all the advanced classes that the character has tried out? I did not intend to do it in fear of having to update the info all the time, but on the other hand I have to do it anyway with all the quest-related information, so its up to you guys.

Heh, oops, should have been clearer, I meant when Quest 18 officially finishes. Seems like it'd be an ideal time to fix it.

That brings up an interesting point: since Mage-classes rely so heavily on gems (which take considerable effort to obtain), it seems like a player who picks a Mage-class for their Advanced Class should be more likely to stick to their initial choice (characters who start out as mages don't count for this phenomenon, obviously). Do you agree? If so, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Personally I think it is fine just having the current one, unless the class they chose somehow changed something. E.G. No magic users quest, was completed as a druid, yet they are a Sage. People might get confused, so maybe specify: Successfully completed Quest Blah at level Blah on the Blah of Blah, as a Druid.

I was actually thinking of adding another line entirely, something like "~ Chose the advanced vocation of Druid on the 13th of February, 2012".

I don't think this is an issue, since gems can be used by all classes, only some mage based classes more so than others...

True, but since they're useless for non-Mages when not bound to a weapon...

No, because you would spend enough on weapons and gems, so it would make all heroes who switch broke.

But weapons can be used on every class except sage, or if they are ranged every ranger related, or if they are throw every rogue related. So one weapon can last for ever, so you wouldn't be 'broke'. Same with gems, it is not like you have to dump all your items when you switch.

I think there should be a price for advanced classes:

First Class: Free

Second Class: 500 Gold

Third Class: 750 Gold

etc...

Just my opinion. :classic:

And that reminds me, would it be a good idea to limit the amount of times someone can change his or her advanced class, either with it costing gold, or something else?

Classes are already limited, once you choose a basic class you can never change it, and you will only have five advanced classes to choose from. Although I like the idea of dual classing your class, like a ranger/ranger combo, which would give you six. Of course you can't have a ranger/ranger or a rogue/rogue, it would be pointless and silly to do so. But I still like the idea of something for people who reach level fifteen but don't want to hybridize their class.

*huh* I don't think charging people to change classes is a good idea but even if it was, I don't think it should be quite that expensive. If someone regretted being a certain class, they'd have to continue with it for at least 3 quests to rake in the gold needed to change. If there had to be a charge, I'd say 10-20 gold would be plenty.

Edit: Is Bright Day not actually wearing his Bright Armour in Quest 14? Not very bright.

Wow, now I'm REALLY concerned about Ellaria. :look:

Someone needs to go and investigate Tumpkin Village, maybe even a whole quest devoted to help poor little Ellaria.

I'm with CorneliusMurdock on this one. It again comes to a matter of how you play the game, players who emphasize on the role-playing aspect are less probable to switch advanced classes very often and thus a price for changing it wouldn't really affect them. Conversely, players who like the gaming aspect of Heroica RPG, will probably switch their advanced class more often in order to gain advantages in certain situations and thus the price for changing it would limit their play style. Thus in order to keep the most people interested, I would agree with their not being a price for changing advanced classes. Perhaps once people reach the next level of expert classes, those can be permanent or have fees associated with changing them.

On a slightly tangent topic, after reading some more D&D stuff, I vote that whenever we get around to Heroica RPG 2.0 we include a bard as one of the starting classes, that would be epic

What do you mean? Can't you see the white glow surrounding him?

Quest #??: Reveal the Rapist

Now that would be something, eh?

There's most likely going to be a bard-like job class, but it won't be a basic class.

Forget Ellaria, I'm starting to wonder what's up with En Sabeh Nur *huh*

En Sabah Nur takes full advantage of the opportunity to rest and quickly falls into a restful sleep. His mind displays a hazy scene of a watery elemental and an elemental made of stone and dirt.

dream03.jpgThe dream is clearly referencing Nur's aquamarine and garnet gems.

dream01.jpgNur's desires continue to manifest in a cloudy haze of feminine companionship.

Oooh, definitely needs a Special Attack like Jigglypuff from Pokémon: putting people to sleep by playing music/singing  . Bit like the Dream Sailor special class you made in your Quest.

And so the heroes of Quest 15 grew tired of the bright sun, and decided to relax in the the dark side of the hall. There were some people in their way, bystanders and family, but they could shove them aside in order to get in that shade. The heroes could always apologize later, and wasn't it more important to get in the cooler shadows than the method they used? This way would save time, several seconds if fact. Sure that might seem short, but the sun was quite warm today. Besides, it's not like those people were as important as heroes, or in as much of a hurry. And they had to be insane to just stand there and not get out of the way of heroes...

Yes! :wub::excited:

Don't get your hopes up, Scuba. Knowing the awful luck us Rogues have, the Bard class will probably be Sage + Cleric, or something.

By the way, Sandy, I was thinking, and what will happen when we get to Expert classes? Will we still be able to switch between Advanced classes to unlock new Expert classes, or will we be stuck with the Advanced class we were using when we switched to Expert?

Bard actually sounds interesting. Between it and this bomb-based class, I'm already hyped up for the Expert classes. Here's to a Necromancer class involving Rogues.

If there is a Necromancer class, it'll probably be Rogue + Witch, or something similar.

Cleric is already one of the classes leading to Sage.

I doubt Sandy will use all the combinations possible for Expert Classes, since there would be so many, but I would imagine Bard would be Druid + something.

No! A bard is always a rogue-like character, if it isnt, its stupid!

*rant over*

I can imagine some good ideas for a bard class tbh, it could be a support-like class, being able to buff, in a similair fashion as the Berserker, and one of its Job traits could be Diplomacy, not to mention being able to fight with an instrument!

Looks like someone's having issues about where Quest 15 is heading  . It surely took a turn for the worse/darker side of things.
