TheBoyWonder Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Luckily, he forgot to say the magic words, so his letter won't be sent . Yeah, I found it a great reply, too. Haldor will have to look out for his "other mother-in-law" . I edited the post to include the words. Quite surprised Scorpiox has not commented about my letter to Jess. Quote
Scorpiox Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I edited the post to include the words. Quite surprised Scorpiox has not commented about my letter to Jess. Not much to say, all it is is saying that Haldor will protect her, which is true. Quote
Etzel Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 So it will be a boy then... Can't girls be bastards too? Quote
CMP Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 "Dear Cinna the Dark, There is a mage in our quest who seems quite fond of you, his name is Arthur Justus Regulus VII. He says he 'admires' you based on Quest 4 and might ask you out. Please don't reject him, he's a nice guy. Best Regards, Harkenshire." I think you just obliterated 2 years of planned out roleplaying... Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 We are heroes. We dont risk our lives for nothing. We risk it to rid the world from evil. I have been rejected and Killed some of my Kinsmen. I am waiting for a letter from a Bella donna. But I am still here. Any Idiot can get themselves killed, but Heroes do it for good. I can't believe nobody noticed the bit in bold underlined. Quote

Sandy Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 OOC: I hope you don't mind my co-opting Valentine's story a bit, her ability to portal all over the place sounds a LOT like Arthur's dad's profession, and Z-mail sounds a lot like Arthur's journal spell, which was passed down through his family. Since having some...ahem..."illegitimate contacts" and ill-advised decisions is a part of his father's story (and thus Arthur's backstory), I couldn't pass up the chance to tie it in. Valentine Ziegfried was created for this event only, so I have no objection to you including her into your own backstory. Hope you don't feel offended if I don't answer your letter to Lyren and Nuitan. They've got a quest of their own coming up soon-ish, so I want to keep them under wraps for the time being. Quote

That's fine, mostly I wanted to give them the journals so that in-between Quests we can get bits and pieces of their adventures. Out of all the possible Harry Potter spin-off books that I've heard suggested over the years, the concept that appealed to me the most was a book containing Fred and George Weasley's "prank log," which was various bits and pieces of information on the oddball antics they got up to at Hogwarts. Rather than literally narrating their time at school (like any fan-fiction could do), this book would have instead contained little snippets of incomplete information hinting at what they got up to but never explicitly stating it (you know, in case Filch ever got a hold of it), leaving the details up to the reader's imagination. That's sort of what I was hoping for in giving those two the journals. Also, if that Quest comes up at the same time as a Wren Quest, I will be quite upset! EDIT: Unless Wren was somehow involved with those two, which would be freaking epic. EDIT2: Grah, can't spell. Edited February 14, 2012 by Flipz Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I don't think Lord Kapriel will reply to this. He is too furious to write a letter. Cronk happy to hear that. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I like Kapriel. He gave me a shiny shield. Also, Pandora has been posting for ages. I'm worried. Quote
Tamamono Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Now Leo's just sending carbon copies of cheesy love letters to all the women in Heroica! Like Khorne said, don't take it too fast, or you might end up Forever Alone, Leo! I am just loving this new letter system! It's a great way to stay in contact with the heroes that are out on quests! Quote
Flipz Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Holy hell! "Ethereal Letters" has only been up for a few hours and already we have our first spammer! Problem solved. Also, Capt.johnPaul, you may want to check out what I just sent Pretzel... (link, Link 2, Link 3A, Link 3B) Quote
Tanma Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Arthur recieves the note. His face becomes . He quickly scribbles down a reply, mutters something, and hands it to Valentine. "Here. Make sure this gets back to the monk. Don't read it. Actually, go ahead, here's a second copy for you to snoop through." The message simply reads: I prepared Explosive Runes this morning. OOC: QM's take note! And so it was that Arthur was revealed to be the reincarnation of the god of awesome, and all did bow before him. Edited February 14, 2012 by Tanma Quote

Leo should consider going to parties and bars to meet women, sending letters declaring your love to women you have only seen pictures of, is kinda creepy. Quote

Scorpiox Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Dear Haldor, Would you sacrifice yourself to save Jess and Althior? I would for Nyx and Ellaria. Leo Ive got ZMail I don't really get the idea of this. What am I supposed to say? 'Dear Leo, uh yeah?'? And Leo might try woman who he has actually met, maybe girls who know him might be more interested. Plus, I loved how Pandy did her reply in the context of the quest, so awesome! Dear Guts, Curiosity killed the cat. Best wishes, ~Scheherazade Quote
Flipz Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (OoC: I really have to do something about that hat...) Perhaps it only works up to Level 15, so he'd have to give it away to a lower-level character if his Quests have enemies of a higher level than that? Quote
Flipz Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Spontaneous Artifactual Combustion? Noo, I want it until I hit Level 15! Edited February 14, 2012 by Flipz Quote

I'm actually thinking of reducing the Dread Hat's power to include only enemies that are half of Docken's level. So currently, no enemies under the level of 9 would be able to damage him. How would that sound to you, Brickdoctor? Hopefully not too unfair... Quote
