Sandy Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 Right now it's looking like all three Quests are ending with excellent die rolls for the heroes. I swear it was coincidental! I'd really would've liked to see more challenge and tough spots in the final battles, but the die disagreed with me. Quote

Next time I'm in a quest, I'm going to insist that the QM team me up with a powerful Mage. The final battle of Quest 2 was a lot like the Direwolf battle, only they finished it off in only three rounds. Quote
JimBee Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I agree, the Mage class is more powerful than I expected. If there's a rogue-mage hybrid, I think I might give that try. Quote
K-Nut Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 (edited) I walk back to the Quest Board. Quest 4 sounds stupendously awesome and incredible ( ), but I suppose it can't hurt to sign up for Quest 5. Quest 4 is put on by someone who's Dearly Beloved. It must be more awesome that Quest 5. Love the self promotion, Doc. Very subtle. Trust me, I'd do the same thing. Edit: Is a Mockthrill Rod a staff? Edited September 10, 2011 by K-nut Quote
Zepher Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 One thing I'm really looking forward to is reoccurring NPCs. I hope that we run into some of the characters a number of times. I'm also hoping to quest with some people on multiple occasions, I really want to build up relationships with other characters! Quote

Absolutely! That's one of the funnest parts of RPGs run by people and not computers! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

A little too powerful at times, but normally the mages won't have such a large array of elements to choose from as they did in Quest #3, since elemental gems are rare and hard to come by. Edit: Is a Mockthrill Rod a staff? Yes, it is. Quote
K-Nut Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Okay, thanks. One more question. Where'd you get that Red Wizards hat? Quote

K-Nut Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Here. Crap. I'm not paying $7 for a Wizard hat. I'll just paint one of my black ones. Quote
Tanma Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I have a question, does your character need to be a Minifigure? I know it says any race, but would non-humanoid races be fine? For instance, I was wondering if I could use a bat for my character. I realize that it would cheapen quests if I could just fly over obstacles, but I figure that since my puny bat must carry around weapons and tools; it won't be able to fly more than a few feet off the ground. Would this work? I understand if this would not be allowed. Quote

Would this work? I understand if this would not be allowed. As a DND DM, I've heard this more than once, in fact, there's a book called Savage Species designed to address this. In my games, I don't allow it, simply because of how impracticle it is. I'm sure you mean a magical bat, or a human transformed into a bat, but if that's the case, it could be easier on everyone to make your character a man-bat hybrid or perhaps even a companion type character to another, humanoid one. The later allows you to roleplay for the bat and participate in the action with everyone else. It also lets you talk to yourself and not get called crazy to your face. Just my advise, I don't know what Sandy'll say. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Where would the bat carry all the items, anyway? As Dannylonglegs suggested, you are free to play as someone accompanied by a bat. There's already a chicken and a dog accompanying two of the heroes, so nobody would look twice at a bat sitting on someone's shoulder. Quote
Sandy Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 Congratulations, Tanma, with your rogue character Dek'ra you are the 50th player to officially join Heroica RPG! I can't believe there are so many of us already! Quote

I'm pretty sure god mentioned she was unconcious. Please don't refer to me as god. It's not good for my ego. Quote

Tanma Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Actually my character name is De'Kra, the k is on the other side. It is derived from the Bionicle Prefix De(Sonics), and the mostly fan prefix Kra(Shadows). If it isn't too much trouble could you fix my entry in Heroica Hall, as it also is spelled Dek'ra instead of De'Kra. Sorry if this is a problem. Quote
K-Nut Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 No! Bacari! I liked you! Though I see you're still a spaniard. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 No! Bacari! I liked you! Though I see you're still a spaniard. You really want another crossbow aimed at you? And I see I went from Italian to a French Conquistador. Quote
Scorpiox Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) Indeed, Bacari was a much cooler character IMO, he was the only Elf ranger and a trigger-happy one at that . There are too many knights here, they are getting a bit boring (apart from Sir Christopher, Cronk and Boomingham). If I couldn't be Haldor I would be a mage, they seem quite rare. Any chance of turning back to Bacari? If not, there may be some people who want to become him instead. P.S. I don't see how veteran ranger Bacari could be defeated by a level 1 knight, and Bacari's friend's might strike vengence on the Frenchy . P.P.S. How can he be French or Spanish or Italian if Europe does not exist in this world? P.P.P.S. I think Bacari was liked, and you can't give the gem to Nyx, it wasn't yours, you can't loot people in chat-fights. Edited September 11, 2011 by Scorpiox Quote
