Brickdoctor Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I'm slightly confused, could one of the arena masters enlighten me? If both heroes attacked from the back row, wouldn't they each receive half the damage or is this only the case when they roll "damage"? Yeah. Both used ranged attacks from the Back Row, so they should have dealt 1 Damage and 3 Damage. Both should still be up and fighting. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) The reason I didn't have any of the heroes kill Felton is because they had all drawn weapons after you fired your arrow. So I just had Wren burn him. Who says your arrow didn't hit, perhaps it did! Also, you knew an evil monologue was coming up because I told you it was. And thanks for the JimBee. Even if you hadn't said anything we knew the end of the quest was coming up and it would have been out of character for Wren not to monologue Edited February 21, 2012 by Waterbrick Down Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I am in awe of Quest 19's semi-conclusion. I know! I am pretty speechless myself! Wompwompwaaaaah.... Quote
legobodgers Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I am going to add my self to the list of people who love the end of Quest 19. I loved the hints of the Dark knights joker in the speach. Especially the part about being an "agent of chaos". It feels to me like that is what she is like under the surface, now all she has to say is 'See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve'. Flipz Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Quest 19. Epicness. *passes out* Oh godsSylvania...if Arthur ever goes on a Wren Quest, I'm half expecting Wren to just kill him on sight. That or do some weird kidnapping-with-creepy-undertones thing like Baba Yaga is doing with Bluto in Quest 14... Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) I've got to admit, the whole Bluto scenario was well thought out and really forces the heroes to make a tough decision where neither outcome seems desirable. Oh, and I think I've found a way to finally stop Wren, assuming the theories of physics and thermodynamics work in Heroica. We just need a whole bunch of ice bombs. Since Wren claims to be a follower and now presumed claimed overlord of Zoot, whom is the characterization of thermodynamic entropy, we just need to lower the temperature around her to 0 degree Kelvin at which point the system will no longer tend toward disorder satisfying the second law of thermodynamics. Wren won't grow any stronger she'll just be held constant at her current level of disorder Better yet, someone go get that Frozen saber from Boomingham, that should do the trick if it's ice elemental, perhaps if we plunge it through her heart vampire slaying style Edited February 21, 2012 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Flipz Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I agree, the Bluto thing is a great Quest point. Though, they'd better be sure to give Bluto his gear back, and then he can fight his own way out. However...: assuming the theories of physics and thermodynamics work in Heroica. Mages. MA-GES. 'Nuff said; Myth busted! *The above is in no way meant to diminish or impugn the awesomeness of the post indicated. The above is simply poking fun at the nonsensical world of Heroica in general. Also: Better yet, someone go get that Frozen saber from Boomingham, that should do the trick if it's ice elemental, perhaps if we plunge it through her heart vampire slaying style Not before Arthur gets a chance at character development! Quote
CMP Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 <Well met, indeed, my friend. Many long years have passed since I have met someone well-versed in the native tongue of my people and had the opportunity to converse in it. My name is Cronk. What may I call you?> *cough* Quote
Chromeknight Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Clearly Cronk is much more fluent in Orcish than he is in common. Perhaps he's like one of those immigrants, that is a taxi driver here, but in their own country was a brain-surgeon... Edited February 21, 2012 by Chromeknight Quote

Brickdoctor Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 But I thought that ranged and magic attacks from the back row didn't suffer from a decrease in power? I dunno. :P It does seem to make sense that way, but in quests, heroes always take halved Damage in the Back Row, unless it is noted that the enemy ignores Rows, even if the enemy attacks with magic or with a ranged weapon. Rumble Strike Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Add me to the Wren fanclub! Great monologue, and I love the fact that she's such an influence on the heroes. Quote

Rest assured, though, Cronk was never a brain-surgeon. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Wow nice job on the NPC index, Zepher, of course, you are missing quite a few, from first look, but I love the lay-out, all the pictures, and the summaries! Be prepared to add quite a few when my quest starts, next week . Quote
Zepher Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 And up goes the Heroica NPC Index! The Quest Masters essentially put it together, so everyone say a big thank you to them! I just organized it. It's still a WIP, we're missing some of Sandy's NPCs, I didn't plug in all the ones that Masked Builder and Brickdoctor gave me, and I still have to write-up the Moranis Children and the Orcs fromthat same quest. It's also missing a few of my NPCs,actually (Vipera and Vonnetate will be plugged in). A few QMs have yet to give me anything, but it's not a time constrained project, so that's a-okay. But, I was heading out and wanted to get it up. We've actually, it turns out, got quite a few NPCs. And they've all got fun names (Dr. Monalisa was created by Legonardo, and Moranis shrunk his kids... maybe everyone else caught those already, but I sure hadn't). Anyway, take a look, it's a lot of fun, and we've built up quite a world already with only 23 Quests! Imagine when we reach 100... which reminds me, QMs, when you can, reuse NPCs! It's fun and saves me time, and helps create a "world" feel to Heroica. Quote

Zepher Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 And before I forget, Peppermint_M did a lot of ground work for me, so thank you! If you'd like Adeline Rouge Doux to still be at the beginning with her introduction, I'd be more than happy to have her there. Quote

Nice thing Zepher, I like it how all the characters are in one place. Maybe you could add Ameli... Quote

If you'd like Adeline Rouge Doux to still be at the beginning with her introduction, I'd be more than happy to have her there. If you want to use her go right ahead! I got super swamped by Life as it occurs so my list was never how I liked it. You are welcom to use Adeline. A few facts: She is has four loves, Questing, Drinking, Gossiping and a certain Librarian who is always a pleasure to visit. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Great job on the NPC index, Zepher I was thinking of submitting Vres, Laxadaisi, Jurn and Captain Hlin Horrkkba of the Ve'er Town watch (my favourite character to play!), seeing as other QMs have added several of their secondary characters. Sandy Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 A thousand thanks to Zepher for compiling the list of NPCs! I will add a link of it to the index very soon. And the missing NPCs have been sent to Zepher, so the list should be updated soon. Like Zepher said, you can use most of my NPCs in any quest you're planning if you just check with me first. Quote
Flipz Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Hey, don't forget to add Elphaba from Haloween and Valentine from Etherial Letters to that NPC list! Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Hey, don't forget to add Elphaba from Haloween and Valentine from Etherial Letters to that NPC list! And the traders! Quote
Sandy Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 And the traders! I just remembered them myself. I'm currently sending their profiles to Zepher. Quote
