UsernameMDM Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Do advanced classes get free equipment? For example if a class merges with the mage for an advanced class, do they get to pick out a gem? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I am more curious why the skeleton is only wearing a satchel. If the cloth from that garment didn't fade, why are its clothes gone? Unless the satchel is much more resistant, it should still have clothes on. That is, if the skeleton was wearing clothes at time of death. Isn't it obvious? That's the skeleton of a Pongcanis. A satchel is a lot of clothes for them. Quote

From what I recall of Prongcanis, their mouths stick out more, and are no where near as wide. The mouth on this skeleton is massive, and doesn't fit the Prongcanis skull. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Do advanced classes get free equipment? Yhis actually makes sense quasi-realistically making those with magical skill more of a rarity. Quote

Yet you don't question your own character's made up race or why the mage in the back row is slinging magic blasts from a purple gem stone? Quote

What makes you think De'kra is of a made up race? He already existed before Heoica, if you look hard enough... Edited February 22, 2012 by Tanma Quote

Maybe you didn't come up with it, but shades are fictional, like the near indestructible satchel of improbability! <--Artefact! Quote
Flipz Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Maybe you didn't come up with it, but shades are fictional, like the near indestructible satchel of improbability! <--Artefact! You really don't see it?? The LEGO theme ran for ten years! (Granted, the last wave was kinda meh, but the storyline was Epic, both literally and metaphorically. ) Quote
Tanma Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Maybe you didn't come up with it, but shades are fictional, like the near indestructible satchel of improbability! <--Artefact! But he isn't a shade, he just calls himself that because he is a shadow of a person. Flipz is on the right track of course. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 QM Note: The stats are fixed and the battle should be up tonight, but the picture is too big. (I guess I forgot to resize it.) I know you all are being patient so hang in there! Never tell your questers that there is gonna be a battle, then they have the chance to use items... Quote
Flipz Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Never Always tell your questers that there is gonna be a battle, then they have the chance to use items... fix'd that for ya. IMO, battles shouldn't pop out of nowhere, but neither should they be excessively foreshadowed (with the exception of boss battles, which of course should be foreshadowed by the entire Quest to that point). The more genre savvy and/or paranoid players should be able to sense an impending fight and down a potion of something, while those who aren't paying attention should be caught off-guard. One thing I like about the Heroica system is that it allows for players who are prepared for surprises without complicated rules for a "surprise round" like many RPGs use. Is it a necessary evil in those games? Yes. But I'm glad that, here in Heroica, character awareness is based on player awareness (as far as surprise and the like are concerned). Quote
RPGer Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 This is my 100th post and I want to put it on this topic because I love this RPG and it's Quests, heros, monsters, and charactor devolpment. The reason I came to EB is because I saw a cool MOC. It was one that I can't remember, but I saw this forum the second I got on. I was in love with Heroica, but I never joined for reasons I can't remember. I loved Quest 3, laughed on Quest 12, loved De'kra in Quest 4, and knew that Flipz would be the master of Heroica in days to come when he joined, Arthur is my favorite, hands down, of every person in this wonderful game. ( No offense anyone ). And this is my 100th post. [ cue the cheering ] Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I am going to be a mystic Knight. I am ripping the Ice gem out of my sword. Quote
swils Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Welp, Seattle was a blast (I'm a mining engineer, GET IT?!), time to get back to real life... and Q14! Rather looking forward to this wyvern, Sandy. Know you won't disappoint! Quote
Sandy Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Can the Mages gems be sold in the Marketplace if they are level one? ( No, I'm not selling my Topaz. Get away from me, people who want gems. ) Of course you can sell your only gem (gaining 50 gold), but then you wouldn't be able to perform spells or Magic Bursts, so what would be the point? Do advanced classes get free equipment? For example if a class merges with the mage for an advanced class, do they get to pick out a gem? Like others have said, no they don't. It would've been mentioned if they did, trust me. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) Like others have said, no they don't. It would've been mentioned if they did, trust me. Just making sure. I'll most likely pick Mystic Knight as my advance class since there are a couple paladins and a berserker already. Will there be any special springtime/Easter traders in the Marketplace? Edited February 23, 2012 by UsernameMDM Quote
RPGer Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I second MDM: Will their be any traders? I studied all the advanved classes and I deem the Palidin the best "unstoppable tank" class. Quote
Scorpiox Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Wow, RPGer is just constantly doing and losing fight after fight. Maybe you could try doing a bit of roleplay with other characters in the hall. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Question: Can me and some other heroes be able to go on a role-playing quest? It's just be a private quest where nothing is gained, just for role-playing purposes? For instance, there would be battles, but no experience or drops. Quote

Bricksandparts Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 That's what Heroica Hall and the Arena are for. I mean a quest where the party goes out of Eubric and goes on a quest, just for adventuring, but they don't gain items or experience. (except for role-playing purposes) Quote
Flipz Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I feel so stupid. :wall: :wall: HOW did it take me this long to realize that the Houses are named after the Root Admins?!?! Hinckwells-Hinckley Shadeaux-Shadows (technically he's in a different group, but the rivalry with Hinckley the Hinckwells gives it away) Zeigfrieds-Seigfried Guild of Invision-invision Bonapartes-Bonaparte (I saw this one right away, but thought it was the only one) Ji Pei-Jipay The Ji Pei and the Guild of Invision I could be forgiven for missing, as those two admins aren't really active around this board, and even the Shadeaux, since I just assumed it was from supplementary Fright Knights material that I never knew about (like the Classic Space comics and the like). But the Zeigfrieds? And especially the Hinckwells, since I interacted with Hinckley a ton in commenting about IMHOTEP after he died. I feel kinda bad about Arthur badmouthing the Hinckwells now (even though it DOES fit his character)... Quote
