Tanma Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I think they'll still be unlocked at least partly with Level. It'd be unrealistic for a Wizard to become a Necromancer at Level 5 just because he completed a quest for someone. Wizard? Regardless I am curious to see what the Shield of an engineer is like, hopefully Quest 17 will have a chance to show us. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Does the Healing Staff use Ether? Based on a reply in the the Marketplace that quoted the original post (for once, thank goodness for an unnecessary quote ), it doesn't appear to, but outside of battle, it's like instant, unlimited, free HP. No, it doesn't, but I believe it's calculated by a hit, so a lvl 1 with it could restore about 6 health. Quote
Flipz Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Arthur Justus Regulus VII (Flipz) and Alexandre le Chevalier (Capt.JohnPaul) have each gained a Level of XP for their work constructing defenses! And so, I achieve one of the hidden goals I set for myself upon starting Heroica: do something so awesome that I manage to gain experience for it. Although, now I'm expecting a total bloodbath, with this extra help arriving--there must be some bad things coming out to get us... Also, with Count Knyghton's punny name...does that mean we're fighting at night now? Quote
Bricksandparts Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Question to JimB, did we get a good reputation with the Ziegfrieds? Quote

But outside of battle, you could just keep Hitting someone over and over and over... Also, with Count Knyghton's punny name...does that mean we're fighting at night now? No, it means that I like to give Lion men names based on 'Lion Knight'. Leonard Kniveton, Lawrence Comayne*, Luke, and Lewis Knyghton. *changed that one up a bit with the hard 'c', but same general idea. Quote

JimBee Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Question to JimB, did we get a good reputation with the Ziegfrieds? Nope, I figured Patricia's favor would be enough. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Healing Staff doesn't use Ether, but you can't use the weapon to heal anyone outside of battle, sorry. You don't have to apologize. I'm the QM. This makes my job (making the Quest as difficult as possible) so much easier! And to clarify, the Healing Staff is melee, not ranged, right? Quote
Sandy Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 And to clarify, the Healing Staff is melee, not ranged, right? All staves are melee weapons. Only bows, crossbows, handbombs, throwing weapons and broomsticks are ranged weapons (unless some specific weapon states otherwise). Quote

That's what you get from having two NPCs with the same name. It would be neat if those two were actually the same person, though. Quote

Great, I am going to have to read quest 18 now, or I will be completely confused. No, Captain Patricia is NOT a Ziegfried I may or may not have plans... Quote
Poison Ivy Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) In Quest #24, I love this battle! A quick question, Sandy; if the Barbarian of a party rolls Frenzy against several enemies while others aren't targetting any enemies, will the enemies not targetted by the Barbarian when they rolled the Frenzy get Free Hits. Okay, that's pretty confusing, here's an example of what I was thinking: Hero A (Barbarian) targets Enemy A. Heroes B, C, D, E, and F use items. Hero A rolls Shield (Frenzy), thus attacking Enemies A, B, C, and D. Since Hero A did not directly target B, C, and D, will those enemies get Free Hits, or will it count as them being targetted, since they took Damage? EDIT: Just had to do this: we're off to face the wyvern They're off to face the Wyvern, The wonderful Wyvern of Oz. Because because because because, Of all the horrible things it does! Yes, because they are not targetted directly. Abilities and items that hit multiple enemies do not prevent Free Hits. Quote

Scubacarrot Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 His axes crackling and sparking, Thormanil steps to the front row. The awful stench makes him gag, and he briefly ponders the usefulness of a headwrap... Hate to break it to you, mate. But wearing a headwrap for that reason, will only result in a dirty piece of cloth . Quote

A better way would be to say Thormanil saw a picture of Guts, and was amazed by his sense of style, instantly adopting the vagabond statement that is a headwrap! Quote
