Rumble Strike Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Argh, why are you people so lucky! Directed at the people of my quest... Allow me a small giggle at this. Karma for your first Quest perhaps? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I have a suggestion for classes with shields, that can attack from the back row. Make it so that the halving from the row is done AFTER SP is calculated. Example: Current situation: 30 damage, Hero has 10 SP, back row. > Damage gets halved, 15 damage, SP absorbs 10, 5 damage. Suggestion: 30 damage, Hero has 10 SP, back row > SP absorbs 10, 20 damage, Damage gets halved, 10 damage. This to maybe decrease the ridiculousness of the levels that foes need to be, in order to do damage, making it hard for classes that dont have shields/ can fight in the back row. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 This to maybe decrease the ridiculousness of the levels that foes need to be, in order to do damage, making it hard for classes that dont have shields/ can fight in the back row. In all seriousness, it's a good idea to balance things out a bit. Not as realistic, I think, since in real life the shield would be in the Back Row, too, but it'd be a little tweak to keep things balanced, I support it. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 This is just for the Arena Well clearly scrolls should be banned or made a one use in the arena, also, their power must be lowered. Nur can just destroy me by blinding me each third turn: R1 Nur vs. Johon > blind Johon vs. Nur > blinded R2 Johon vs. Nur > blinded Nur vs. Johon > attack R3 Nur vs. Johon > blind Johon vs. Nur > blinded I can barely do anything, especially since he's lucky! Quote
JimBee Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Actually if he blinds you on Round 1 then the blinded effect should last until the end of Round 3. And I agree with lowering the scrolls' power in general. Like I said after Quest 18, it was extremely hard to balance things with them. I agree with the solution to limit them to one use each per battle. Quote

I agree with the solution to limit them to one use each per battle. I disagree. The 50/50 chance of use fits the general feel of the game better. HOWEVER! Perhaps a secondary downside of scrolls could either be an increased Ether cost OR the Ether is spent, whether or not the effect is successful. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 OR the Ether is spent, whether or not the effect is successful. This make sense. Especially if the effect is tied in to the normal die roll results, since realistically, you have to fire a shot in order to Miss. Quote

Alright, from now on, all scrolls have only a 50% chance of success upon use. Ether is not spent if the effect spell fails. Quest Masters, please make sure the players on your quests notice this. Scubacarrot, what exactly does the incense dropped from the Palidin do? Does it cause the blessed affect or what? Quote

RPGer Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) I like the idea. This would be a fantastic idea for the Marketplace if you think about it, what's the call Ref Sandy? EDIT: 400 Pages of Heroica R&D! Edited March 6, 2012 by RPGer Quote
Rumble Strike Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Tanma, I love the small bits of character building you add in. Tarn hasn't really interacted with De'kra much prior to (or even in) this Quest, so I am enjoying playing him as slightly discomforted by the "unusualness" of the Rogue. Quote
RPGer Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I just added up all the pages in this game. The total: over 1300 pages of Heroica goodness. This is how far we've come. Quote

It's great talking to Tarn as well, it gives me an opportunity to hint/explain at why De'kra doesn't trust magic. Not that he has anything against it's users, Tomas, Arthur, and Cinna prove that. Rumble Strike Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Well, it gives me a nice chance to flesh out Tarn as well, he's been pretty boring so far! Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Well, it gives me a nice chance to flesh out Tarn as well, he's been pretty boring so far! How so? I don't see anything "boring" about Tarn. He's just a simple person, that's all. Seems like I should have made Dak someone like Tarn or Hoke, this might be getting a little out of control. I think that Dak will just remain silent the rest of the Quest, except for random bouts of scientific gibberish of course. Quote
Sandy Posted March 6, 2012 Author Posted March 6, 2012 I like the idea. This would be a fantastic idea for the Marketplace if you think about it, what's the call Ref Sandy? There's already an item like that coming up to the Marketplace. My quest will continue on Thursday (and hopefully reach conclusion soon after that). I had a prolonged meeting today after work, and tomorrow we're going to a concert after work, but Thursday I have a morning shift with the rest of the day free to dedicate to you guys. Thanks for your continued patience. Now I'm off to sleep. Quote
Flipz Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Right, Quest 20 has just become supremely epic. RPG game masters around the world shall envy you for the epic role-playing you have in your Quest, MDM. Hmm, that gives me an idea...in-game we already have Books on each Quest, perhaps some of the more brave (or perhaps foolish) of us should try to defictionalize them. You know, put the Quest into a more literary format. Would anyone want to read that? Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Scubacarrot, do the Orcish vambraces have a SP rating? Oh and De'kra is really awesome Tanma, you play him rather well. Quote

Well, they did not kill Grandogsh, so they will never find out, MWUAHAHAHAHA. In all seriousness, it was more of a flavor item (allowing the heroes to fight without weapons outside the prison ) Quote
CMP Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Well, they did not kill Grandogsh, so they will never find out, MWUAHAHAHAHA. Why do you think I'm provoking him? Quote
K-Nut Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Well, they did not kill Grandogsh, so they will never find out, MWUAHAHAHAHA. Oh, I could totally say something right here, but I won't. Quote

Bricksandparts Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I'm gonna be hosting a second quest! The pitch should probably be in the hall later today or tomorrow. Quote
