Bricksandparts Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Some characters would be just for personality, for they aren't actually human characters. Quote
Tanma Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Well, it's that time again... Random question of the day week inteterminate time frame: If Heroica RPG were made into HEROICA RPG: THE MOVIE or HEROICA RPG: THE SERIES, who would be best suited to play your character? (I don't want to hear anybody cop out and say "me", not unless you've had actual acting training and/or experience. ) For purposes of this question, the movie/tv show can be live-action, animated, 3d animated (i.e. toy Story), or even stop-motion animated with real bricks (i.e. Robot Chicken); what's important is the actor/actress who would portray your character (and/or NPCs, for the QMs out there). For me personally, I'd choose Jay Baruchel to portray Arthur; he's funny and has that awkwardness that applies to Arthur (and to me, now that I think of it ), but he can also deliver a solid, powerful dramatic performance. He would be perfect for Arthur. I am not the best with actors, so it took me a bit to think of it. For hours all I could think of was David Tennant, which is just weird. I had just been watching Doctor Who though, so I have an excuse. But still, there is no way someone can picture De'kra with the 10th Doctor's voice Luckily I had been watching all 64 episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood the past week. (Sure I have two major papers coming up, but this is FMA Brotherhood we are talking about) So after watching Episode 62 (in the words of Mustang, it was raining) I found a canidate in the sub. (I refuse to listen to the dub, even if I can't understand Japanese. At least the characters sounds better) So after carefully reviewing a few episodes, and a few more patches of rain, I decided on Rie Kugimiya to be De'kra's voice actor. For some reason Alphonse's voice just works, at least in my head. Now to bother my younger sister until she makes fan art of May and Alphonse for me. Quote
Jebediahs Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Are you sure you don't mean Samuel Jackson? He certainly looks the part. Hahaaha No. Sam Jackson is too old, loud and stiff. I've seen Marcus in chef challenges, he can actually move. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I think a younger Clint Eastwood, or an older Josh Holloway(Sawyer, from Lost) would work well for Guts Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I love your question Flipz. If there ever was a Heroica the movie/series, then I'd ring up Russell Crowe. Just so long as he loses the Aussie accent for something more thickly Scandinavian. If his performance would be anything like Gladiator then he'd be a pretty wicked Haldor. Quote

I thought he'd be a good Haldor too! Though I was considering him for Althior as well. Quote

Scorpiox Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) I have nothing against Gerard Butler, just that I have never seen him act before(bar How to Train Your Dragon, but that was only voice). I think Russell Crowe is good at doing exiting action and violence yet can still manage emotion. Maybe I should watch 300. EDIT: Whoops, I lie, I have seen Phantom of the Opera. Maybe Gerard Butler could play Heroica's other Norseman, Eric. Great Choice! Since he was the Sorcerer's apprentice, I'd probably get Nick Cage to play ALthior. Well, There are a bunch of great actors to play Althior, but they seem a bit old to do so, Such as Robin Williams. But then there's other actors such as Chris Hemsworth, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Chris Evans that would be good too. In the end, I probably have to go with Jake Gyllenhaal. *Pic snipped* He's the right age, and he can switch from Dark to light easily. Later I'll find an actor for Finnegan. If I may make a suggestion, perhaps Billy Crystal for Finnegan? He's a very funny guy, but he's a lot calmer than, say, Robin Williams, which seems like it'd be important for Finnegan. Jonah Hill might be another good choice. EDIT: Warlord's Helmet - SP: 2 grants 'Natural Respite' WANT! Edited March 10, 2012 by Flipz Quote

I was thinking Paul Bettany from Iron Man. He has the civilized voice for it, but Eddie Izzard could be a good one. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Leonardo Di Caprio, as he is as nearly as much of a heartthrob as Leo. Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) Leonardo Di Caprio, as he is as nearly as much of a heartthrob as Leo. I hate Leonardo Di Caprio. Wouldn't you want someone more macho? I can't imagine dear Leonardo even being manly enough to touch a sword without his hairspray... And since when was Leo a heartthrob? Didn't he get rejected by nearly all of his flirts. And he never met any of them anyway. Edited March 10, 2012 by Scorpiox Quote
K-Nut Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Leonardo Di Caprio. Leonardo DiCaprio Leonardo Di Caprio. Leonardo DiCaprio There, fixed it for you guys. That's what I get with a family of movie-buffs. Quote

K-Nut Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I think he fits Leo far better. Good choice, I can see it. Me too. I could be really evil and suggest Taylor Lautner, but I won't. Quote
Fred Daniel Yam Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Fun fact: Hayden Christiansen is 31. I would suggest Logan Lerman, same age bracket, has wielded a sword in films and he is a hearthrob, like Leo. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Anyone have any ideas for who could play Johon? Quote
K-Nut Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) Anyone have any ideas for who could play Johon? Channing Tatum maybe? Edited March 10, 2012 by K-nut Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Ooh, Interesting question, I often think about how my character's voice sounds, since his gender is still not evident. The body doesn't really matter so much because it wouldn't be revealed (not until near the end atleast.) but the voice might be a give away. Another problem is how un-funny my character is. I don't know very many acters who are generally serious enough to portray my character without ending up like an "action" film actor. I think I'd like Matt Smith to be the actor, as, although in portraying the doctor he is whimsical and fun, he always has a dark seriousness to him. Also, I don't know too many actors. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Bricksandparts Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Channing Tatum maybe? Maybe, I'm not sure who I'd want as Johon, they'd have to be a tough, muscular person, have a rough voice, be good at action for the most part. It'd be really interesting to watch episodes based on this game... Wonder if Flipz is panning to render a quest or two... He Was trying to get hold of some heroica RPG models and a minifig rig after all... Quote
