Dannylonglegs Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Except the druid in Quest 14 of course. I meant characters. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 *snip* Well, naturally Thothwick would be played by a man in a suit, ala Chewbacca. But I believe, Jim Carter (best known for his role his role in Downton Abbey as Carson, the butler (if you haven't seen it - see it!) *snip* Perfect. Sandy, nice choice as well. I'm a theater/movie/television nut (seriously, what I want to go into ), but I currently can't think of anyone for Boomingham. Any ideas? I'll brainstorm. There's not that many old heavier actors. William Shatner? I am not an expert on Boomingham at all, so this might be totally wrong. But Kirk was pretty arrogant about other cultures, has a strong thing with women but doesn't fail like Leo, and he was thrown out of time and encountered a later generation of heroes. Quote

Zepher Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Nice choice, you're right, I thought about him, but then forgot. I like the idea of Shatner too, Flipz, but he doesn't seem to speak quickly enough. I think good Boomingham candidates would be Geoffrey Rush, Jeff Bridges, or Robert Downy Jr. (if he got a bit older and put on a bit of weight). Any thoughts. Boomingham also has yet to enter the hall after his Arena visit. I wonder what he's been up to. Seriously, though, I have to think up some excuse. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 William Shatner? I thought the same thing! Jeff Bridges works too! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Any thoughts. Oooh! I didn't think about Geoffrey Rush! That's a good one. Even if Downey got older, I'm not sure if he'd be that great of a Boomingham. Downey usually plays the wise-cracking type rolls. Boomingham just doesn't seem like that kind of person. I think I myself am at a draw between Bridges and Rush. They're just both so great! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Er, I am not a big actor/actress buff (I just know which ones I think are hot ) anyone got any ideas for Tesni? Quote
Mibbiwocket Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Brian Blessed would be perfect for Boomingham. Quote
CMP Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Er, I am not a big actor/actress buff (I just know which ones I think are hot ) anyone got any ideas for Tesni? Pretty much my situation too. I've got nothing for Atramor. Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) Brian Blessed would be perfect for Boomingham. Had to look him up. I like the suggestion. Aka, yes, this is who would play Boomingham. Everyone look him up. He's perfect. Edited March 10, 2012 by Zepher Quote
Palathadric Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I often think about how my character's voice sounds, since his gender is still not evident.. Gave yourself away there. No idea who Monk Pretzel would be. Not really much of a person who knows a lot about actors/actresses, so... Quote
The Legonater Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Personally, I could really see Vigo Mortenson (Aragorn) as Dyric. Now that I think about it, the two charecters share a lot of qualities, and I think the voice fits pretty well too. Quote

I've got nothing for Atramor. Movie buff to the rescue! Alright, I'm not sure for Tesni, but Jaimie Alexander would be a good pick. Relatively unknown except for playing Sif in Thor, byt Atramor, oh Atramor! Now he might be Robert Downey Jr, though I could see Keannu Reaves playing him for some reason. Quote

RPGer Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Well, it's that time again... Random question of the day week inteterminate time frame: If Heroica RPG were made into HEROICA RPG: THE MOVIE or HEROICA RPG: THE SERIES, who would be best suited to play your character? (I don't want to hear anybody cop out and say "me", not unless you've had actual acting training and/or experience. ) For purposes of this question, the movie/tv show can be live-action, animated, 3d animated (i.e. toy Story), or even stop-motion animated with real bricks (i.e. Robot Chicken); what's important is the actor/actress who would portray your character (and/or NPCs, for the QMs out there). For me personally, I'd choose Jay Baruchel to portray Arthur; he's funny and has that awkwardness that applies to Arthur (and to me, now that I think of it ), but he can also deliver a solid, powerful dramatic performance. He would be perfect for Arthur. Pete from D&D, all the way. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Gave yourself away there. I always use masculine pronouns to describe Sylph Solanum. Partly because people perceive the mysterious figure as masculine (his voice is deep enough to be considered low for a female, should he turn out to be one.) His build is slender, so he could be a lanky man, or a tomboyish woman. I myself am a man, therefore, using masculine pronouns is more familiar. Mostly, I use masculine pronouns because the English language does not posses a gender neutral pronoun that can be used non-awkwardly to describe a human... should he turn out to be one. I chose Matt Smith, not because my character is necessarily a man or even human, but rather, because I like the seriousness/darkness he can bring to the whimsical Doctor. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Flipz Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) Maybe, I'm not sure who I'd want as Johon, they'd have to be a tough, muscular person, have a rough voice, be good at action for the most part. It'd be really interesting to watch episodes based on this game... Wonder if Flipz is panning to render a quest or two... He Was trying to get hold of some heroica RPG models and a minifig rig after all... If only I actually knew these actors IRL. Though now that I think of it...maybe not a visual thing, but...hmm... I don't know how to alter ou, in part because it is from Middle English, but xe is done like he and she. Keep in mind I only looked this up just now, so I might have looked only at fringe sources instead of mainstream uses of Xe. Here are examples of uses. Xe summoned a tornado of flames, engulfing the foe. Xyr flames burned through the succubus, ripping her apart. Those flames are xyrs. Such destruction is unlike xem. This is the work of the pacifist Xemself. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Had to look him up. I like the suggestion. Aka, yes, this is who would play Boomingham. Everyone look him up. He's perfect. After looking at his first Youtube hit on google's search, this is an absolutely perfect fit Since Skrall would probably have to be a voice over, or maybe some sort of motion capture in the line of Gollum/Andy Serkis, I would go with an older Sean Connery from his Indiana Jones years or LoEG. I think I'll continue using male pronouns as xe is a bit too fringe. If it ain't baroque, don't fix it! (also, spelling correct marks them as wrong! ) ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

Brickdoctor Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Changed my mind. Hayden Christensen who played Anakin Skywalker in Episode 2 and 3 of the Star wars saga. Absolutely perfect. Pete from D&D, all the way. Sorry, he's taken. Quote
Flipz Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I feel guilty for taking so much good loot. First the shield, then the Mythril, now the bow. Can I offer any of you some Deadly Venom? Sandy clearly meant for you to get that bow, there's no one else there who could use it. (Aside from Hoptet, but no one ever gives loot to NPCs. ) And you deserve that Mythril for thinking of asking for it. Speaking of Hoptet, though, you should let him borrow your old bow so he has better attack power (and thus, healing power) in any more battles you go through *cough*BabaYaga*cough*. Quote
Sandy Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 Welcome to the game, Sloop! As well as any others I might have forgotten to welcome earlier. Here's your character picture in avatar-size (100x100 pixels): I'm also waiting for a picture from Endgame. You cannot participate into any quests without one, but I'm sure there are plenty of volunteers (myself included) that can make your fig for you if you can't do it yourself. Quote
