Tanma Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Correction: just my I pad playing up And looking forward to new quests I know what you mean. My avatar picture(for both my character and me) appears sideways whenever I use my IPad. The image seems fine on my home computer though. Quote

Tanma Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Same on my I pad for your pictures Weird. Maybe it involves their creation. It involved moving them from an IPod to a pc, not sure if that might have done it. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Can healing potions be used to deal damage to undead? Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Nice start to that quest Doc! It looks like it will be fun! Quote
JimBee Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Just thought I'd point this out: Whenever dealing with a rogue using the throwing/melee weapon combination, hosts and players be aware of the change in the character's power as they switch weapons. If the throwing weapon and melee weapon have different strengths, then the power of the character will change mid-battle when the rogue switches weapons. This may be confusing, so Sandy, maybe you could add osmething about it to the rules? Players with this situation could adjust their character stats as well, something like: Power: 4(T)/5(M) T for throwing, M for melee. Of course, this doesn't apply to anyone yet, since I'm the only one using this strategy and both my weapons will be the same power in a minute (besides, I won't even be using my weapons in Quest 7). I just wanted to point it out for future reference. Quote
Zepher Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Thanks for being timely and making me look bad Brickdoctor! Seriously folks, we're going to have fun on Quest 7, thanks for giving me an extra day to make sure everything runs perfectly, I'm SUPER excited about my party. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Thanks for being timely and making me look bad Brickdoctor! It was my pleasure. OOC: Would you have it any other way, doc? It's not a problem if heroes want to make last-minute purchases. Just remember that once you post in the Quest 4 topic, you may not buy anything at the Heroica Marketplace until the Quest ends. Quote

Looking forward to questing with you! Quote
Tanma Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Signing off for the night, I will be back on tomoorow though. Nice that a traditional "good kingdom" symbol is being used by raiders, if the dagger isn't a plant. I never got why Lego used Lions as the "good knights." Don't they realize that when a new male lion comes to power, the old leader's pups are killed? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Not sure if I'm missing something here, but in Quest 5, how does Topaz (Lightning) damage an undead monster? I thought only Diamonds (Light) could do that. Quote
Sisco Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I told my party that my quest was hard. And that was just the first battle... @Brickdoctor: Only Normal attacks are ineffective against the undead. Magic, healing, and bombs are all effective. Quote
Sandy Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 Can healing potions be used to deal damage to undead? Yes. All types of healing will have a reversed effect on an undead. This may be confusing, so Sandy, maybe you could add osmething about it to the rules? Players with this situation could adjust their character stats as well, something like: Power: 4(T)/5(M) T for throwing, M for melee. I just wanted to point it out for future reference. Nice idea! For now, it's up to you to make sure your attacks are calculated correctly, though. Not sure if I'm missing something here, but in Quest 5, how does Topaz (Lightning) damage an undead monster? I thought only Diamonds (Light) could do that. Light element is especially effective against the undead, so it will deal double damage. Other elements and healing will cause normal damage, and non-elemental attacks have no effect at all. Hope this clears the issue once and for all. Quote
Tanma Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 What about if the foe you face has two elements, like undead and beast? Since the creature gets the combined traits of both, would this mean the foe would be vulnerable to normal attacks? Quote
Sandy Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 What about if the foe you face has two elements, like undead and beast? Since the creature gets the combined traits of both, would this mean the foe would be vulnerable to normal attacks? No, since non-elemental attacks aren't especially effective against any type of enemy. As for your example, undead beasts would be immune to non-elemental attacks but especially vulnerable to fire, ice and light. Healing would also damage them. Quote

Peanuts Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 There's something that I wondered about: If a cleric heals a teammate oustide of a battle, how much life points does he restore? Will the die be rolled then as well? Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) I feel so stupid asking this, but it appears I can't find it in the rules and would be helpful to know for my upcoming quest. How much ether does it take to heal someone fully? EDIT: It seems the person above me posted the same thing. Edited September 20, 2011 by Capt.JohnPaul Quote

How much ether does it take to heal someone fully? EDIT: It seems the person above me posted the same thing. From reading the role descriptions and from observing the precedent set thus far by the completed and current quests, it only takes 1 ether for a cleric to heal a player to full health outside of battle (i.e. no die roll is required). This is analogous to mages being required to expend 1 ether to cast a spell outside of battle. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 We measure that time in Nights. -from Quest 5NOO!!!! My quest has nights! Don't think I'm stealing ideas though, I already thought it up before I saw that... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 -from Quest 5 NOO!!!! My quest has nights! Don't think I'm stealing ideas though, I already thought it up before I saw that... That's from Quest 4. No problem, I think it's a nice twist that should be incorporated into any Quest that requires traveling over long distances. I don't mind that you're using it. Since I used it first. Quote

Zepher Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Brickdoctor stop having frickin' beautiful pictures you're going to make me look awful. Quest starts in an hour or two I think! For my folks. But it will not be as pretty as Brickdoctor's so do not get your hopes up! Quote
