Zepher Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 The idea of the game is that anyone can have any pet, as long as it doesn't affect the combat and stats. I agree with you guys, keeping certain creatures rare would be cool, but if anyone happens to want a phoenix, they've got the right. Quote
Jebediahs Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 IMO phoenixes should be pretty rare and not something you can just buy. Alexis did buy it from Nur, but that was because he didn't want it and it was given to him in Quest 18. Just my two cents. It's not so much that Nur didn't want it but moreso Jebediahs knew Alexis could roleplay with it better. My vote is to keep the phoenix a super rare pet or else whoever creates a new one will be revealed as an unoriginal copycat. Quote

UsernameMDM Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I made a new picture of Mandy. (Thanks K-Nut. ) As she ages she'll get larger. I think it would look cool if you used as her tail. Quote

Agreed, there are plenty of other magical creatures to have as sidekicks other than Phoenix. And if you are bored of typical creatures and more obscure ones, you can make new ones up. For instance you could have a sterile Celestial Bears as a helper; a tiny shelled creature. Celestial Bears, or Soligrades, could be a race of eight legged creatures with immunity to all damage, who spend much of their lives eating nutrients. After they get enough food them lay nine hundred eggs, which use the collected nutrients as rocket fuel. This scatters the eggs all over the planet and possibly beyond, allowing them to spread. The adults die upon laying their eggs, and some eggs die while still in their egg state. A sterile Soligrade won't lay eggs and thus won't die, however it might be stressed about its inability to breed. This could lead to interesting discussions among heroes with hopes of parenthood/children, allowing for unique interactions. Plus Tardigrades are awesome. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) Since when did pretzels age? I thought they were only good for a few days, then you couldn't eat them.... That could be why when Monk Pretzel ate them, he got sick. :iamded_lol: Edited March 16, 2012 by LEGOman273 Quote

Whisper: Tanma's got way too much time on his hands if he's doing posts like this. Also, I'll be getting a pet soon, too. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 What is the deal with everyone wanting pet-sidekicks all of a sudden. If you are going to do it, do it carefully. And also since they don't serve any useful purpose in Heroica, their only use is comedic value, using them as character development is a bit lazy, to be honest. So please, think carefully if you want a comedic sidekick. Look at Atramor and his chicken, Althior and Finnegan or Boomingham and Barty for how it is done right . Quote

Tanma Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I suggest the heroes of Quest 14 lie through their teeth. They never saw Bluto, they didn't even know the Ziegfried had a youth of that name. Its best not to even mention him, and pay off the crew to keep the lie. Of course the Ziegfried might have ways of detecting the truth, so that might not work. Quote

Dek'ra is mad that the Shadeux lied, yet you don't care about the Ziegfrieds! Quote
Sandy Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 xxlrocka and Bricksandparts, please reduce the amount of OOC posts in the Heroica Hall topic. If you have questions, ask them here. I'm waiting for the Quest with the two kids from the school (Nuitan Shadeaux and the Hinckwell boy whose name constantly escapes me). Like I said earlier, I'm going to host a Mafia School game first, then I will host a new quest, but currently I'm pondering between three options, and the one involving the boys is one of them. Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 xxlrocka and Bricksandparts, please reduce the amount of OOC posts in the Heroica Hall topic. If you have questions, ask them here. I agree, it is rather annoying to have to sort through which is spoken to the character or player, and OOC: and IC: don't really cut it. I recommend that everyonely posts OOC if necerssary, and if so, posts it in the lightest grey colour, so it is still visible but less annoying. Quote

Scubacarrot Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I already have some thoughts on two of the advanced classes, QM'ing them really makes it good to see how they work. Battle-Mage: It is an interesting class, It works quite well, the Spellblade shield effect is nicely done, and I definitely like how the magic counter works, but the only gripe I have with it is that the player will probably always stay in the back row, casting spells like a normal mage. (This actually is not that smart, as the Shield effect is 1/4 stronger when in the front row). And the Battle-Mage will always never use its weapon, unless it is out of ether, but that is not a big deal, I feel. Keep it as is!. Paladin: I like it, it is basically the best class for all-round. It can take hits, so its ok to be first to take free-hits, it can heal allies and self, and it can deal decent damage as well. And that is my tiny problem with it. I fear BECAUSE it can do all these things, it will be chosen a lot. There is no problem with that, because it is actually nicely balanced, I feel. It's offensive damage is not super, which is good , otherwise, it would not be balanced. Having seen only these two advanced classes, I think these are very balanced and fun to play around with. I hope the others are as balanced as this, it is a bit tricky to figure that out without actually rolling the dices in battles, and of course there is always the luck part... But yeah, keep up the good work Sandy! Quote
