Scubacarrot Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Hmmmm....can you buy any of these? *Letter magically appears in front of Byblos* *The Letter Reads* Byblos, do you have any schematics of Staugh Castle? Raiders have destroyed a Town and captured its people. The hostages have been taken to Staugh Castle, and we are trying to rescue them. We need to find a way to them, though. Can you help us? -Daxus Octavian, Rogue I think CMP meant these posts. Note to LEGOman273, you can not post in the library while on a quest, since the library is part of the hall, and you certainly can not make magical letters :/ . @xxlrocka If you have read the first post of the treasury, you can see the topic is to make it easy to see what every item does/means, it is an index, of sorts. Jebediahs Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Battle-Mage: It is an interesting class, It works quite well, the Spellblade shield effect is nicely done, and I definitely like how the magic counter works, but the only gripe I have with it is that the player will probably always stay in the back row, casting spells like a normal mage. (This actually is not that smart, as the Shield effect is 1/4 stronger when in the front row). And the Battle-Mage will always never use its weapon, unless it is out of ether, but that is not a big deal, I feel. Keep it as is!. This concerned me as well. Was hoping Alf might be one to continue fighting from the front row once he becomes a battle-mage. Cinna would be fine in the back (if she were to choose battle mage) as she seems to be the mistress of/authority on long ranged weapons. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Question: Can a player use a elemental spell from a gem in a weapon? Quote
K-Nut Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Question: Can a player use a elemental spell from a gem in a weapon? Merge a weapon with an elemental gem: You need a weapon and an elemental gem for this service. Merging the gem will give the weapon all the elemental attributes of the used gem, but the gem itself will not be available to use anymore. This service costs 50 gold. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Thanks! With the battle mage, if you fight in the back row, when you roll Shield, is your physical attack halved? Quote
JimBee Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 With the battle mage, if you fight in the back row, when you roll Shield, is your physical attack halved? Yes, but I believe the magic attack will still be the same, and doubled for elemental advantages. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) Hmm. I want to be a Battle mage for role-playing purposes but a raiders ability to get some easy cash is very tempting. I'll probably train for battle mage, then raider and have role-playing of Johon trying to unlock his true potential know who he really is, and his powers ability. Scorpiox Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Grr. Stand still, swordsman, so Cronk can bash you. Ever heard of the phrase, 'Start moving, so I can own you with more satisfaction'? Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I am enjoying watching Quest 23. Reminds me of a story I wrote ages ago about 3 gangs and police. Quote

Scubacarrot Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 It's only natural; Metasimians are inherently awesome! Makes me wonder, does Thotwick have any ties to Eubric's Metasimian gang? Or does Byblos? Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Xxlrocka, You do know you cannot just create a weapon ? Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 That meteor blade gives me an idea....(3 hours later)*Drake is holding a shiny red blade with a dragon's head carved on* "Ah. That's the stuff. Now to call it the dragon sword and sell it in the market." And with that drake set off with a dragon sword in his hands. Drake now has the dragon sword! xxlrocka, you're not allowed to just suddenly create yourself a new weapon, otherwise everybody would be walking around with WP:100 weapons. Makes me wonder, does Thotwick have any ties to Eubric's Metasimian gang? Or does Byblos? All Metasimians have ties with all other Metasimians, in order to make the Metasimian invasion even easier! Rumble Strike Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Scuba, I do like the comments the enemies make between rounds. It was great when Jeb did it for the Orcs, and it works well here too. Nice work! Quote

Flipz Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 "Why can't that mage hit anyone?" I expect about half of the comments from enemies would be something along those lines if "enemy quotes" were used in all Quests. Quote

CMP Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Doc, I think having a weapon being elemental has absolutely nothing to do with casting spells, unless the gem is removed. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Doc, I think having a weapon being elemental has absolutely nothing to do with casting spells, unless the gem is removed. Have we ever had a Mage wield a weapon imbued with a gem before? I don't remember.I guess it would make more sense to say that the staff can deal ranged Ice Elemental Damage in the form of Spells, and deal melee Wood Elemental Damage in the form of whacking enemies with the staff. (and thus not costing Ether) Or that it does melee Wood Elemental Damage and ranged Wood or Wood+Ice Elemental Damage. Quote
Flipz Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Unless it's made to be a special property of this staff, I think it's limited to melee damage, but the WP would still be relevant for Ice spells, the way Arasmyth's Wind-elemental staff still increases the strength of his Lightning spells. Quote

I feel dumb. I thought we didn't have any Mages wielding elemental weapons, and there was one right in my own Quest the whole time! I'll go ahead and treat it that way, then. Quote
