Scorpiox Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Sorry! I always get you two confused. It often took me three tries a page to keep you guys separated properly when reading Quest 19... Just remember that I'm Pirate Beaker with a Mp5 Machinegun and I play the smexy Norseman. Quote
Flipz Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Gah! Really wish I could be in the Hall right now, so many Arthur plot threads going unrevealed... ...oh, well, there'll be other times. When I eventually host a Quest, I'm going to try and stalk the potential players like I do the Mafia players try and figure out when most players get on and try and find folks that all get on at around the same time. That's something that's held us back a bit in Quest 17, that, due to time zones for the different players, discussion between certain characters is problematic. Quote
swils Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Swils and darkdragon, please could you reply to my post in the hall? I had to run off to my DifEq class (something poor Thormanil could never hope to comprehend! ), Let's see what ye've got for me.. Quote
Tanma Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Gah! Really wish I could be in the Hall right now, so many Arthur plot threads going unrevealed... ...oh, well, there'll be other times. And then De'kra spoke to Cinna... Quote
Rumble Strike Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 It's great to have so many regulars back in the Hall. Love seeing all the conversations and roleplay Quote
Jebediahs Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I'm actually pretty honored to be on that list. There are a lot of great Mages in the game as of now (Nyx, Arthur, Cinna, Nur) I think those three were honorable mentions, along with Alexis, Skrall, Boomingham, Hybros, and Haldor to name a few. That list looks about right, I guess Nur could replace Althior... No thanks. Nur is fine being a main supporting cast memember of the Heroica RPG show. Quote
RPGer Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Oh god. For the last time: you cannot control other users' characters without their permission!! I know, I don't think darkdragon would mind. darkdragon, if you don't like this tell me. This sort of thing is were you have to get permission first, if you are so desprate to roleplay devopl your heroe as a character not use heroes without their permission please don't control my character. thanks in advance. This is the third time he's done it. RPGer is a menace. RPGer, please develop your own character in your own way. If you really must, then ask before involving someone else. Funnily enough it is possible to roleplay on your own, and Durkon will remain a shallow character if the only thing you do is have brief and unreleted sentances. If you continue then unfortunatly most people will just ignore your posts in the hall. Please don't carry on with this. Who says anything about just the hall? RPGer, roleplaying is mostly about creating a character and then deciding how they will react to what others do. You don't have to create extra drama, just wait and it will appear. The fact that it takes so long to develop a character is part of what makes roleplaying a fun and interesting challenge; characters can change ad develop over time, in response to what other users' characters do and say, and that takes time. Real life isn't all drama and excitement, is it? The same is true for roleplaying, you often have to wait for that perfect moment, but when it finally appears, you have roleplaying gold. Tanma's character De'kra is a goldmine of good roleplaying, as is CorneliusMurdock's character Cronk, and Scorpiox's character Skrall (among many others, these are just off the top of my head ), look to them for examples of not just dramatic character acting, but believable responses to the other characters around them. Just my two cents. I don't want to appear harsh, but it is basic, common courtesy not to involve other characters in your roleplaying without prior permission. Three strikes and you're out? Guess what? He's involved people in his roleplay without their consent three times. That was the whole point. To do that three times, when after the first and second times several people carefully explained to him why it was a bad idea and impolite to do it, well, it's clear that he just doesn't get it. Scorpiox, you still have to ask me if you want to use Skrall for your roleplaying It's funny because of Quest 20, when De'kra was literally in a gold mine. More on the discussion at hand, I had an idea for a time travel quest that might have pushed the law. I have since abandoned the idea, but I tend to recycle old concepts in new plans, so it might still be relevant. In the quest, while exploring the post apocalyptic landscape; the questing heroes come upon the graves of the last six veterans of Heroica. These six heroes would be PC's like Cronk, Althior, Skrall, and so on. Now as I said I abandoned the idea, and either way it would have taken place in a potential future that wasn't set in stone. Likewise the plans I had couldn't work in canon, because of some unknown factors, and the characters were never really seen or interacted with. Still, in case I ever decide to reuse aspects of that plan for a quest, would anyone object to their characters being veterans in the future? I probably won't use the idea because my mind has already jumped to other plans, but I might as well get it out of the way just in case. I have an idea, to make it work. How about the future the quest is in, is something that must be prevented? or something like that? That way you don't have to worry about it being canon. The idea sounds cool. Alright, I think I've made BAD role-playing choices, and I think I'll give Ranger a try. Durkon may leave the Hall soon. ( No, I don't feel like you guys are "rail-roading" me. ) Quote
Flipz Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Oh, BTW, Tanma, Darkdragon, I believe Arthur sent one of those journals to Cinna via V-mail and/or A-mail. I'm quite interested to see the explanation Darkdragon has come up with for Cinna not finding the V-mail...she says she has one cooking... Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Alright, I think I've made BAD role-playing choices, and I think I'll give Ranger a try. Durkon may leave the Hall soon. ( No, I don't feel like you guys are "rail-roading" me. ) I'm not sure whether to take the as a or not, but the class isn't the issue, you just need to ask people privately whether you can do something like that ahead of time and be respectful of their decision if they say no. As Flipz has said, it takes time to get a good story together and the more you play and interact with someone the more you are able to feel what they would do in a certain situation. For example, Scorpiox and I have quested together a fair amount and I would actually be perfectly fine with almost any role playing situation he asked of me, because we know our characters that well, but for you and Durkon, you have to wait for those relationships to be built. Yes I understand that the real comradery is built on quests and that there is a lack of starter quests available for the newer heroes, but this is where patience comes in and you have the opportunity to show that you are willing to be committed to this game even during the slow times. Find something that makes Durkon a person, it doesn't have to be something fantastical or outlandish, one can only bear so many with dual personalities, or banishment, or possessions, or total family wipe out stories in their background (nothing against those who do). It can be as weird as being born with two left feet, or as bland as being a recent divorcée. Think and ponder for a long time till you have that gem of an idea and then nurture it, don't pump the steroids of rushed role playing into it, because it will soon grow ugly and unappealing to all those around it. Let it run its course until your character sprouts to life and all the Cronk's and Althior's, and Tensi's of the world are glad to have your presence in their party. Quote

Scorpiox Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) Sandy, I hate to be a bother, but I've moved my Haldor pics to a new folder. Here is the same picture but with new code http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Scorpiox/Heroica/shaman_haldor.jpg Edited April 3, 2012 by Scorpiox Quote
RPGer Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Nope, I don't mean sarcasm. Here's my plan for Durkon: His wife is killed by the Wolfgang and he goes into seclusion in Waldark Forest. After years of being alone, he wanders through the forest. In it, he stumbles across a demon, which he thinks is Abraxs. But it's a lesser sevant of Zoot. He goes to Heroica, to rid himself of the influence. As he gets closer and closer to Level 15, He gets closer and closer to being pure evil. As he reachs 15, Galadriel appears, taking the demon out of him and he becomes a Sage. After this, I have no idea what I'd like to do with him. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 If you had stuck to this plan, rather than creating chaos and using other characters without the owners consent, Durkon might be a more popular character. Quote

RPGer Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Why would the Wolfgang kill Durkon's Wife? To steal from her I guess. The Wolfgang being the Wolfgang, and and elves always have valubles and treasures, too....I got a lot of inspiration from Frodo in the Lord of the Rings. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) think I might lose my sword for that bow. . EDIT: Just realized it would be cheaper buying one from the Marketplace and fusing my ice gem with it-150. I payed 180 for a hollow bladed ice infused WP3 sword, not forgetting I had to raise it to WP 6. Edited April 3, 2012 by TheBoyWonder Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 OOC: Knights cannot use crossbows. Sorry, so it looks like it will be mine, as I'm the only one who can use it. Isn't that a little greedy? You've already got a WP:10 crossbow. Sorry if I sound greedy, but maybe Leo could have it. He says he wants to be a Warden. Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) I got a bit bored so I decided to compile a list of Elves/ Elf Hybrids in alphabetical order, with classes. Alexandre Chevalier- Knight Alexis Fenral - Ranger/ Evoker Amorith Marvelo- Mage Arasmyth RuGard- Mage Benji Carvenhall ( Half Elf) - Ranger Bob (House Elf)- Mage Dak Shadeux ( Half Elf) - Rogue Durkon- Mage Erdacath Madillinas- Cleric Jess Islanti- Rogue Leo Aragon- Knight Nerwen Calmcacil- Cleric Olinn Whisperwind (Half Elf)-Ranger Rufindel Galadhras - Cleric With that, we can see Mage is the most popular Class for elves with 4 Players, Cleric is second with 3 and ranger also has 3. Knight is third with 2, and Rogue Also has 2! There is no Elven barbarians. Edited April 3, 2012 by TheBoyWonder Quote
