Kadabra Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 I've updated Arasmyth's stuff on my About Me page, he's now 214 and has a quote that I think you'll enjoy. Quote
Flipz Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 "Well the machine as you may have been informed runs off of alchemical batteries which by their very nature are unstable and thus require specific tuning of their frequency output when utilized if their spacial parameters are slightly off level the frequency generated may undergo deconstructive interference causing static in the transmission lines leading to power surges. The alchemical batteries supply the static transmogrifiers by which the power is transmuted to a scanning beam of tiny particles which interact with the supplied test specimen that after transform the specimen into an intermediate transubtle state by which the conducer generator can alter the outgoing frequency of particle in tune with the desired "magical" properties of the materials structure. All of the transmission steps must occur in an airless system to prevent contamination of the signal. A single leak in the lines can lead to corruption of the signal leading to transmogrification in situ during which extraordinary quantities of heat may be generated. These are but a few of the delicacies of the instrument, in all it would be fairly easy to sabotage as it was built for simply demonstration purposes and not for commercial viability at the moment. I'd compare it to a magic user, powerful on the inside but processing a frailty on the outside." Arthur must meet this man, preferably with Harkenshire in tow for extra treknobabble spontaneous arcane mysticism. Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Arthur must meet this man, preferably with Harkenshire in tow for extra treknobabble spontaneous arcane mysticism. If Heroica were a film, one can imagine the facial expressions of the party as he said that. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (I'm kind of OCD about IC-versus-OOC knowledge.) So if Doc is Pete, does that make you the Ben of Heroica? Quote

CMP Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 WBD, I think Hunters trade in Animal Talk for the Track Down trait. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Yeh I just thought of that and corrected it, makes me sad, though it's more accurate to Skrall's character to have the tracking ability over animal talk. Quote
JimBee Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 That doesn't make sense to me... if Rangers start out with the ability to talk to animals, how would they lose it? I mean, logically they wouldn't really forget but there I go again, trying to make sense of a fantasy game. Quote

Members of a class designed to kill certain creatures (not to mention a class designed just to kill everything) probably don't make the best drinking buddies for animals. Quote

Through a series of rituals and consuming varies vague mixtures, the Hunter's vision is enhanced, granting them the ability to track what they want, but it comes with a cost. A side-effect of the concoctions is that the vocal cords, ears, and several pieces of the lower cortex in the brain are damaged, which is the reason they can no longer speak to animals, after becoming a hunter. Well there goes my chance at Skrall ever becoming a Warden. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Not sure if Brickdoctor ever clarified if it takes a turn to mount the horse, I guess it's up to you? I'd say a fair compromise would be if we have time to prepare beforehand I can mount pre-battle, but if we're caught off-guard then it would take a turn to mount. It should be up to the QM, yes. I only had that rule because mine was a quest with a system of movement during a battle. Quote

Flipz Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Scroll of Weakening – Enables casting the Weakening-effect to the target, making it's attacks halved for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether. Usable only by mages and clerics. Costs 50 gold. Scroll of Fragilization – Enables casting the Fragilized-effect to the target, making it's taken damage doubled for the next three rounds. Each casting has a 50/50 chance of success and costs 1 ether. Usable only by mages and clerics. Costs 50 gold. Must...collect...scrolls... Quote
CMP Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Cool effects, Briks. If I could make a suggestion, I would change Fragilization to Frailty. Nice photoshopping too, I need some of my own other than MS Paint. Quote
Flipz Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 As long as someone sells them to me later, I don't care WHAT they're called! Quote

Nice photoshopping too, I need some of my own other than MS Paint. Actually this was one of the easiest Photo shopping, just made the photo black and white, put a rectangle on the scroll, rotated it, and made it yellow/orange 75% transparent. Most of the time it's harder, but I really think it turned out nice. I think I'll change the scroll to your suggestion. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 (the horse has infinite usage, correct?) Yes. Quote

Sandy Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 I really like the scrolls, too. Good job thinking of more status effects, B&P. Endgame Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Hopefully my latest development in the hall wasn't too much out of left field. Considering I wasn't able to get out on any quests and Sorrow was going to be a completely somber business hero (More of an antihero than hero) I had to find a way to make his mood lighten. And a near death experience typically does that in RPs. Quote

Khorne Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Antihero's FTW! Welcome to the club! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Heroica ought to change its name to Anti-Heroica, considering the amount of flawed heroes/anti-heroes, etc. that are part of the organisation. Eubric's corruptive nature is spilling into the one organisation that's supposed to have the city's best interest at heart . Quote
CMP Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 OOC: Sandy, is it possible for me to bargain with one of the shop-owners for my Jo-no tree seed? Or can I just sell it to them for 80 gold like it says on the treasury? I said approx. 80 gold because that's about how much all the components are worth together. If you can sell it at that marketplace, I think you'd get 40 gold, since that would be half the value of everything. In any case, it was just a rough estimate to how much it was worth. Quote
