I have a concrete plan for Boomingham's past, and that's it. I know the events that he experienced leading up to being transfixed in time, and I know the events after that up until when he joined Heroica. Those events shape him. I know also the events that have happened since he arrived at Heroica. Perhaps I should have a long term goal, I fear he's getting a little flat. All the quests he's been on have been errands, though this one is quite nice for character changes, AND Sisco's made him drink more. Of course the biggest catalysts are the other heroes he meets.

I did add 3 health points back (as Barbarians heal back the amount of health equal to their level) but I think Myrddyn wants to get the extra 2 points back as well. I've no problem with that as the party are not in danger.

I was actually going to compliment Dek'ra the other day. Your writing for him is always superb. I love his view of the world. It is very unique and adds a ton of flavor to the game.

I think, personally, however, long term plans are a little silly for characters. It is my (personal) belief that people are shaped by their events, so I try to let Boomingham be shaped by the Quests he's been on and the people he's encountered.

Good to know.

I know what you mean on long term plans though, I ran into some problems with long term plans in a different RPG, where many of my fellow plans started posting frequently. Sometimes events you don't plan for come up, Quest 4's end for instance left quite an impact, along with the death in the same quest. But in terms of De'kra regaining his memories and realizing who he is, he is about at the same pace as I planned.

Hopefully we run into Arthur's group, long enough for us to catch up on adventures. A lot has happened since he last saw you, as he has reached the character development of Level 14.

I hope our groups run across each other eventually as well, though I fear De'kra might not like some of the changes in Arthur since they last spoke...

...Arthur is a weregoat?

But seriously, I am kind of glad I don't know what has been happening, it will help me realiztically write De'kra's shock when the time comes. From what I know I agree he probably won't approve, as eating people isn't good by his standards. The rule of them is that if Teridax does it, odds are it is an evil thing to do. Not sure about the rest, but De'kra would find that torture is a slippery slope, based on experience.

"Those cultist pikes are no match for our highly-trained knights!"

Should've said 'Their pikemen can't repel trained knights of that magnitude'....shame there are no Teuthisal around.

Doc, scale of 1 to 10, how obnoxious is this battle concept to use on the QM side? I imagine the photoshop alone is brutal, not to mention keeping everything separate in your head as you work AND scanning the topic for replies...

Maybe a...4. It's certainly more difficult than a normal battle, but I've got a good setup of layers and groups going on in Photoshop, so that's easy, and I can easily keep track of things in two tabs. The mimimap of Q17 pretty much required that I do the same thing.

I also agree, its a shame to see Leo leave, It seemed that he was just starting to move beyond the knight cookie-cutter. And the background you'd developed was beginning to get some traction.

I was also very disappointed to see him leave. :cry_sad:

The comment about not liking the RP aspects of the game reflects something I was thinking about recently. What do people want to get from the game? I would guess there are as many different answers as there are players. One thing that is noticeable compared to other gaming groups I've been in is the number of characters that seem to be player avatars rather than independent characters in their own right. Not that's a goodor bad thing, but it does drag ego in sometimes. When a player expy is liked, the player feels liked, and conversely when not liked, some players find the game less rewarding. I'm not specifically saying that is what is happening here. But I know for myself I could more aware of that phenomenon and occasionally Bette careful ony character interactions.

Nobody likes Monk Pretzel...I feel so unliked.

But more seriously...you may be right.

Here is my suggestion for an Expert Class tied to the Paladin Order:

Priest of Ennoc

Wow! I am definitely going with this. I would change the name to "Priest" instead of "Priest of Ennoc." Monk Pretzel may not take too kindly to the latter.

By the way, I love your character, Etzel. Maurice is the one person it seems that Monk Pretzel could actually get along with.

BREAKING NEWS ABOUT JOB CLASSES!

The tentative job classes tied with the main houses of power are:

Minstrel (The Hinckwells)

Dragoon (The Shadeaux)

Necromancer (The Ziegfrieds)

Cannoneer (The Bonapartes)

Alchemist (The Guild of Invision)

Chi Monk (The Ji Pei)

Beast Warrior (The Wolfgang)

Adding to that, players that reach Level 50 can opt to choose one of three master job classes that combine the talents of the basic job classes. The master job classes are:

Mime (open to everyone)

Paragon (open to original barbarians, knights and rogues)

Prophet (open to original clerics, mages and rangers)

I don't see myself being any of the classes that tie in with main houses. :sceptic:

Although I totally see myself becoming a prophet ultimately!

I honestly don't see Monk Pretzel being shaped by much. He is over 400 after all. He is definitely fairly stuck in the way he is...but things may change. :look:

I agree dude. Nagure looks so much like that beast. Including the horns. And were you trying to scare us with that close up picture. It looks freaky.

Party leader please distribute the loot:

Axe - WP: 7, suitable for Berserkers, causes additional 1 earth elemental damage on successful hit.

Iron Arm shield - Provides SP: 5 in front row, suitable for Raiders, cannot be upgraded.

Steel-plated Quiver - Adds 2 WP to arrow attacks.

Quick bow - WP: 6, Suitable to rangers, provides hastened effect for one round each battle.

2x Bat-a-rang - Retrievable, causes random effect based on dice roll (1-3~no effect 4-Stunned 5-Confused 6-Hexed) WP: 0, cannot be upgraded, suitable for rogues.

Holy crap. *huh* Since when can Raiders use shields?

Posted

You realize that shields were actually often worn with straps on the arm? And even if it was an artifact, it would be seriously powerful, and why would you make it raider exclusive, because you are planning to become one? :hmpf_bad:

....Again, since when can Raiders use shields?

Agreed. Something like SP:1 or SP: 2 would be all right, in conjunction with the "cannot be upgraded" deal, but... :sceptic: The most powerful Shield Power artifact created (as far as I know) has been Doc's Robe of the Elven Necromancer, and it's for Mages (which suffer from low HP, making it immensely useful). And it's only an SP:4 artifact, and it was a pain to get and is really rare.

Ok, I see your point, I'll change the SP lower.

I was referring to the fact that Raiders can't use shields. If you got the idea from Hunt for the Draugr, then list it as an artifact, like that one was.

Now I'm just waiting to see how much Flipz will offer for one of the Bat-a-rangs.

Heh, I've lined up a deal for one of those scrolls, and I'm hoping I can offer a good enough deal for the one that sold out to convince someone who bought one to part with it. The Bat-a-rangs are a secondary concern, especially since it'd take nine more battles for me to hit Level 15.
