Kadabra Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 OoC: Then I kicked him from under the table and the Knife flew into your hat. Why does everyone act like barbarians are dummies? Barbarians may not be super smart, but they have the instinct on strength and fighting. Plus fighting as a barbarian gives the character more wild fighting skills and ability to know when something is too crazy and impractical... Plus part of your staff is metal or something, and sapphire isn't all that, that strong. I do think it is unfair to take a players RP actions into context if they weren't possible and wouldn't have happened that the player couldn't have known. You should instead say why it wouldn't have worked OoC instead, not just call the person delusional. First, no OOC only posts in the hall, please. Second, you do this sort of thing too frequently and too over-the-top, making your character some sort of chosen one with a fairy, a dragon, special Quests he goes on by himself, and random fighting moves, half of which you don't even know the names of. (Case in point: I remember one time you said "Alf does that one thing where you step on the end of a bench and it flips up into the air". ) Second, barbarians are steriotypically less than geniuses, and you have done nothing to discourage such a stereotype, such as speaking in Orc-speak when you first joined and doing random, unrealistic things, so you shouldn't say barbarians know when things are unrealistic when you clearly don't. Barbarians are never listed as having "wild fighting skills", they're described as warriors of the wild who prefer a brute force method. That imples brutally eviscerating foes with giant blades or smashing their skulls in with clubs, not cheesy action movie Robin Hood knife slinging, especially when barbarians can't even use throwing weapons. As for the staff, I didn't have a trans-blue light saber hilt, deal with it. More seriously, a kitchen knife would not embed itself in a gemstone on any universe, so yeah. Finally, learn how to take a joke, the Hall is full of delusional idiots like you. Remember Leo's random NPC love interest no one could see? Tl;dr, not riffing on you, trying to offer constructive criticism. You're too Mary Sue-ish (look it up yourself, I don't want to be responsible for causing you to get fired because I linked you to TvTropes and you didn't do any work ) and have false beliefs that barbarians are superhumans. The black part on the staff is Suspension of Disbelief, and the post was intended humourously. Quote

Ok, but you still could have said something like this in OoC, not a repeat of messing up Leo's love interest person. He asked people to stop, yet no one listened. Plus I'm level 15, I've been practicing at the training room, I know a little about different styles, yeah maybe not enough to be a hot-shot serial killer guy, but that happens a lot. Sapphire really isn't that strong. It's brittle, it's strong and then it breaks, it wouldn't bend on anything or deflect a knife. Quote

Before you die, tell me one thing, did you become scum or are you still just the serial killer neutral? On a more serious note: I apologize for playing along with first Flare and now Kadabra. It is funny, kind of, but I do think it kind of destroys role-playing. However, I don't think you should burst in there and begin kicking people around and stuff. Well, I suppose you are a barbarian. Next time I'll try to work around the issues I have with your role-playing. Monk Pretzel feeling, what the hell is the elf's name again, pain, promptly falls unconcious in a heap on the table. His second, or is third?, time of doing so today. Quote

Second, I have no clue what you mean by your second sentence. Third, try chucking a butter knife at a rock. Won't break. Besides, we can assume that in this world gems aren't as easy to destroy in Heroica, or my staff and everyone else who's melee attacked with a gem tipped staff (not counting diamonds, obviously) would have shattered weapons. Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Game for the Interim (Unless that's Flipz's ©): One of my favorite parts of playing (and particularly hosting) is imagining different combinations of players on different quests. What characters would you must like to see quest together (doesn't have to be your favorite characters necessarily, or the people you want to quest with) and what sort of quest should they go on (Ennoc, Wren, Wolfgang, etc.)? I would like to see Sorrow, Atramor, Boomingham, and Cronk on some sort of quest. Actually I'd like to see a quest with Syntax, McCafferey, Barty, and Cronk. Or a quest with Monk Pretzel, Hybros, Atramor, and Guts. Quote
Zepher Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Apparently Cronk and I have to go on a Quest together! Bring it in you pantless old man. Atramor and I are also apparently heavy contenders. And questies of the greater Dastan region, this is where the fun begins. Quote
CMP Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 And questies of the greater Dastan region, this is where the fun begins. It took long enough! WBD, I think you only listed 5 colors in your riddle. It really will take forever that way. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Thanks, I found it and corrected the mistake and also added the photo. Sorry if my quest is going longer than expected, I will say that the Party is almost 3/4 of the way done though. Quote

I have one of the best QMs in Heroica, and am travelling with four of the best heroes in the game. The quest should be longer, not shorter! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Apparently Cronk and I have to go on a Quest together! Bring it in you pantless old man. Now we just have to find a QM willing to take on two Paladins. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) Are you kidding?! I have one of the best QMs in Heroica, and am travelling with four of the best heroes in the game. The quest should be longer, not shorter! Thanks, I just thought activity had slowed a little on the quest and I wasn't sure if that was due to lack of interest or busy schedules. I shouldn't have doubted you all, you're some of the most dedicated players Heroica has. IF PVP is upcoming then all back stabbing rogues should beware, Skrall now has a sword capable of decapitating a player in a single swipe. Now if only I had a Quick Draw Quiver... Sisco Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 "Let me assist you if I may." Nur's eyes widened a little as he passed the elf. "I just can not get over the size of that hair, Jess. With a portable bush on your head to hide in, I can see why it's easy for you to sneak up on your targets. Good luck in your game of chance." You have no idea how hard I laughed at this. I seriously almost fell out of my chair. Quote

Now if only I had a Quick Draw Quiver... I really didn't want to fight you for Roleplaying reasons, but looking at your stats now, I don't think my party could take you on if you were by yourself. You're able to deal triple damage from the back row against us. Would it be out of character for Cronk to slip quietly out the back and run for the hills? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 You're able to deal triple damage from the back row against us. That would be my fault. I don't think I've created an enemy that wasn't at least partly Humanoid since the beginning of Q4. Quote
CMP Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 That doesn't apply in the Arena version of the Hunter. Unfortunately. Quote
Jebediahs Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Now we just have to find a QM willing to take on two Paladins. Hehe I'll do it if you both get out at the same time. I wasn't sure if that was due to lack of interest or busy schedules. Yeah, my inactivity was busy schedule. I just didn't say anything, oops. You have no idea how hard I laughed at this. I seriously almost fell out of my chair. Haha. Good luck in player vs. player all. Quote

CMP Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 If I had written all of the Arena rules, it would. With no offense to K-Nut, the Arena rules are kind of disproportioned. Some of the class specifics just don't make sense considering how they normally act. Quote
